  • Why are they on a couch? :)

  • @LOSTKILLERDRAENEI Just chillin'

  • very interesting video thanks

  • i enjoyed this vid

  • Can anyone tell me the name of the song at the beginning? Its great.

  • @Svenhartley Tom Sawyer by Rush

  • @Venustarr Thank you

  • Oh it's just sick.. Just sick. Those poor children, hopefully one day they can come to their own senses and figure things out on their own whether it be becoming a atheist or agnostic. At least give them a chance to think about things.

  • @Preetima1125 Relax. those kids will run the world when you are 60+, not the other dumbass kids who believe anything..they'll be tending the verge like always.

  • @breaneainn Really? Like Bush Sn. and Bush Jn. and Obama to name just three. Or even--dare I say it--Palin?

  • @DaToNyOyO ..no, I meant the normal kids. i'm sure you would agree that the Bushs' and Palin were just as stupid as kids as they are as adults. Obama isn't in the same catagory, show me one stand up comedian who pokes fun at him. lewis Blacks comedy career died with the change of office.

  • As a christian I ask: Why not put NOTHING in the offeringbucket???

  • it's probably that kid with the mullet.

  • @niccilomachiaveli

his names levi and nooo its not him trust me lol but that would be hilarious!

  • @DrPepperNH lol wut?

  • Coming out of the closet?? If he didn't like it, wtf did he go?? Weird.

  • @TchumaTchatoProject Forceful parents maybe

  • How old is James?

  • @cjcapta

17 at the time of this clip, I think, but I'd have put him a lot older - head seems very much screwed on :).

  • I went to church camp. I ditched chapel everyday and smoked a blunt in the woods. Am i going to hell?

  • In a week I start a new school... A hardcore christian school. i'm an atheist, you should make a video on how to survive that .. haha. I'm pretty nervous.

  • @TheAnonymous357 Ask lots of questions if they start preaching ;-P

  • I went to Christian Camp; they did not like me. hahaha LMAO!

  • I'm more of an apathetic agnostic, but I grew up in a very christian home and going to some very christian stuff growing up, buying in pretty well until about my mid-teens.

Religion is very interesting to study as a social and cultural artifact; it has shaped the way people have viewed and written about the world around them throughout history.

...But fervent belief in religion is garbage, it's crap, and I hope everyone who pursues such follies would wake up and go get a real education.

  • @LemmingAttack I agree i wish they would wake up sigh...chek my playlist

  • I'll believe in Jesus if he were a raptor -raptor Jesus- awesome....

  • Loved the oral sex joke at the end.

  • Funny thing is YouTube also converted me.

  • I went to a UK version of jesus camp.

  • So, I'm curious as to why the hardcore christians need to throw religion in everyones faces, its the same with hardcore athiests why do they feel they need to spread word against religion. Christians believe in God, Athiests dont, why cant both sides agree to disagree and leave it at that?

  • @mgkusmc Well, part of the issue is that it's not that simple. Fundamentalist Christians in particular tend to want to shift the laws of their nation, if not the world, to a theocratic standard. I myself am not a militant athiest--it's not a huge factor to me if you believe or not. But when people try to essentially slap logic and evidence in the face for silly and tenuous assertions, and make all accept these ideals as law, that people decide to take the fight to the aggressors.

  • @mgkusmc Becuase a persons belief can harm others. A father almost killed his two children on may 21st.

  • Did you put on Tom Sawyer because James was from Canada?

  • @cossintan1 RUSH wasn't really that Canadian. Just becuase your born from a place doesn't mean you they should be there i was born in Canada but knew i should of never been born there so i moved to the UK.

  • @yuo252 Good point. How do you like living in the UK? I'm seriously considering moving there from Canada once I get my undergraduate degree.

  • I can fake my speaking in tongues still :-) lol I feel special xD

  • Fellas, is it just me or does anyone else find any female atheist to be very attractive?

  • @tapiwakay My wife is quite attractive but sexual attraction is objective.

  • I went to a christian camp several times when i was younger but I never really payed attention to the Jesus stuff cause it was a really fun camp. But now I'm an atheist and think back on those camp trips and i see, oh my god, this is such propaganda, how did i not see this before.

  • What's with the cows sitting on the couch? Is that what they call decoration?

  • @VidMasterZ

    - "What's with the cows sitting on the couch?"

Thats Moohammad, one of the shows mascots.

  • @TheAtheistExperience ROTFLOOOOOOOL! *Favorites* *Friends*

  • @TheAtheistExperience That is just to funny...

  • @VidMasterZ That's quite a rude thing to say about the hosts.

  • @ShadowOfMaedhros Not really. It was just a question.

  • @VidMasterZ They must think it will mooooooooove watchers

  • Lovin the Canadian band into for the segment - well played sirs/ma'ams!

  • Tom Sawyer!

Neil Peart is the best drummer ever!!!

  • Hey, I never knew Matt had legs!! No evidence hahah!! NOW I believe he Does!!

  • @adey5 Nonsense. He is a human. Humans have legs. To acknowledge the possibility that he did not have legs is somewhat reasonable, as he could be an amputee or was born with a defect, but the only reliable assumption would be that he did have them until shown otherwise. Now believing he has a prehensile tail, despite no human in history ever having one, THAT would require compelling evidence. Like God. ;D

  • @Devilonsteroids Yes, you are right I guess. My message was tinged with a hint of sarcasm there, with a Creationist Stylee "you cant prove it if you werent there".

Sorry if the sarcasm didnt come across in the text. Mind you on the human tails issue, I understand atavistic tails ARE possible in humans, but EXTREMELY rare.

  • @adey5 How would you know how rare they are? They were rarely reported when it did happen, maybe that's still so.

  • @Strangerinasland I am making a reasonable estimate. You are correct, I dont know the exact figure. BUT if they were common, we surely would have heard about them. There would be charities (like Cystic Fibrosis Trust, sickle cell) adverts for donations for cleft pallet surgery like we see in the paper, I would have heard of someone who had one. I cant find any figures but I reckon they are so rare, few people even knew they were possible. I bet they are rarer than all the above

  • @adey5 I don't have the proper information to make a reasonable estimate. Do you?

You said "EXTREMELY rare" & I asked how you'd know that? Now you say you don't know the exact figure & "if they were common". There is a big difference between rare & EXTREMELY rare.

I don't have exact figures on this either but babies being born with externally ambiguous sexuality are much more common than most people are willing to believe yet there's extremely rare mention of it in the news & (cont)

  • @adey5 (cont) & there are no charities for them but you probably know someone and/or passed someone on the street who was born that way.

Both that & the tails have always been vastly underreported & probably still are.

  • @Devilonsteroids "Now believing he has a prehensile tail, despite no human in history ever having one" Google atavistic tails, you will see a few examples. Thankfully they seem very rare.

  • @Devilonsteroids I never assume people have legs or that they don't have tails.

  • Pretty funny how he's a canadian caller and rush is canadian

  • theshwanerd is his account name lol

does anyone know anything about oshawa?

    lol

  • 1:50 "Went on youtube, wanted to debate with atheists and prove them wrong, and it kind of went the other way."

It makes me smile that we are making a difference, and we are really helping the right people reclaim their lives.

  • @WorkForYourMoney I actually had large seeds of doubt planet that later resulted in my atheism when I went to "pwn some evolutionists" on a debate forum. I got my ass kicked and was so embarrased I deleted my account and never went back. A few months later I examined the issue more open-mindedly and now I'm an atheist.

  • @libalchris We share virtually the same story.

  • I should make myself an atheist name for youtube. I'm so jealous of all of you guys

  • @iliveon Be a giant F-Bombing ass like i am got my name out. But infamy isnt as good as fame

  • RUSH!!! \m/ get in!!

  • Awesome song in this episode!!

  • Amazing how this kid was able to deprogram himself at such a young age.

  • @celshader Man i did it was ten.

  • If they have hot Christian chicks with strap-ons, then sign me up! I'm an atheist but I'd go there just to see the strap-on action. There is not a better way to end a fire and brimestone speach than to get a couple of fundamentalist horny young virgins to do the strap-on show.

  • @somethingdiffereable I saw that in a prono once...LOL

  • Lovin the song choice

  • @SeanathenII Epic song for an epic show :)

  • Proud to be Canadian? How can anyone be proud of the place that gave the world Brian Adams?

  • @xcellken1 Bryan Adams? He's awesome. Of all the shitty pop stars my country has produced (Justin Bieber, Celine Dion?) you choose an awesome musician, Bryan Adams?

  • @captain150 Justin Biener is from Canada?

  • @xcellken1 hey...i'm still alive and my teeth are still in my head. so yeah...r we going to duel mma style or are you just going to come over and kill me? i'll look forward to either one

  • @xcellken1 yes from my home town of Stratford ON

  • I'd much rather listen to Dayglow Abortions than Tom Sawyer by Rush.

  • "It was alarming how easy it was to just put on a face."

Makes you wonder how many other people there are secretly going through the same things. I don't imagine it's common, yet it happens.

  • I would sign-up for jesus camp if I could witness the christian girls with strap-ons etc. I might even sit through the sermons and all that if I could watch this kind of action for dessert!

  • I this year will REDEDICATE myself to wine. ^__^ Wine is yummy. ^___^ <- drinks some now.

  • Comment removed

  • i remember when i was little, and i was forced to go to a christian camp for 3 summers, and i learned nothing from it, i didn't start questioning gods reality until oh... 8 or 9 and then i started to watch this show about a years ago, i loved it, it show's how wrong the church is.

  • I went to church camp a lot of years, and I don't remember offerings being taken at any of them.

  • I am going to a retreat in Ocean City, MD in later January. I'm atheist for about two weeks now. Believe it or not, it was a long transition to fully open my eyes and make that decision. Going to have to watch this horribleness very soon..

  • @iliveon We have a place in Fenwick Island, DE. That part of the country is beautiful in the summer, dreary in the winter.

  • Hello all, if interested please join FB group 'Anti-Theists. Pro Active Atheists. Opposing Religion.'

  • @alienlifeform11 I would join, but I'd be fucking shunned so hard by all of my friends just for the title. Not saying to change your title, its very needed, yet will any religious folk even drop by a page like that?

  • I go to Christian school, like this guy said it's really easy to put on a face, but their philosophy sucks, I hate listening to bullshit about how we need to listen to Jesus or go to hell, and how we need to stop cussing and blah blah blah. I love this show btw

  • @Bakersfieldsucks777 I am a christian and have to ask why you need to put on a face. If you dont believe, why dont you say so?

  • @DXfanization -cause with not believing comes too many questions and people bugging you to convert, and in my school the administration itself gets involved, and I'd rather avoid all that.

  • I went to Jesus Camp when I was a kid and had the time of my life! I thought it was all make-pretend and we were just pretending to be religious fanatics, like only role-playing or something! As an adult I am shocked to find out these people aren't just goofing around! I guess being just a dumbass kid without a clue does have its advantages!

  • Love how indoctrination from christians is perfectly acceptable... but these would be the first to shout about government indoctrination...

  • oh man! i wish i could go to Jesus camp and praise the Lord!

  • Tracie looks like Sigourney Weaver.

  • @Fourwords6043 But can she operate a powerloader like Ripley?

  • 7:38

"Not going to get as many dates...."

Can't believe I missed that the first time.

  • I'm 17 too!!! I'm a freethinker :)

  • There is a camp called "Falls Creek" that is relatively close to where I live in Oklahoma. Rumor has it that that camp is the biggest cause of teen pregnancies in Oklahoma, earning it the nick-name “Baptist breeding ground”. This is just one more reason that these “Christian church camps” are horrible terrible places.

  • Wow - talk about well spoken for a young man.

  • I personally would never go to a christian camp. You come back shunning everything that you liked before, throwing away your music, and changing yourself completely, when there was nothing wrong with you before. Christianity makes you think that everything you did is wrong and that you're a horrible person. People have died that way. And christians say, why should god show himself? We dont deserve it.. THEN WHY DID HE CREATE US IF WE DIDNT DESERVE GOOD AND THAT WE'RE MEANT TO SUFFER!?

  • @BWEEBLAST I had no choice. I went to a fundamentalist school. Jesus Camp every fucking day.

  • @AtheistinFundyLand I lost a girl i loved to shit like that.. To me, it's just ridiculous brainwashing over and over.

  • @BWEEBLAST Good question, and you'll have plenty of empty answers from fervent believers about it. Every religion is about the mass, following a leader, instead of showing respect to the rights of the individuals. It wants to make you think you're nothing without "god" and unless you surrender your judgement and free will to this invisible entity and it's doctrine, you'll be suffering eternally in hell fire.

I'm glad to be an atheist.

  • @BWEEBLAST He needs amusement?

  • I went to a religious camp once.

We didn't ever say anything about god.

I don't even think we prayed before we ate!

  • Stupid question, I know, but what's the song at the beginning? I keep hearing it everywhere.

  • @JustGhastly "Tom Sawyer" by Rush.

  • How I survived Jesus camp; I shot myself in the foot to bring me back to reality.

  • opens with Rush, has Matt suspiciously stepping away to "fix some audio" (sniff sniff), ends with a gag about speaking in tongues and dates, and...RUSH. What's not to like?

  • It's comforting to know I'm not alon. I was scared to the bone whenI went there. I was about 13 almost 14 and I had said I was an atheist. I don't know how to explain it, but for a second I thought that I had died and was on the way to hell.

  • Have you ever noticed that anybody speaking in tongues sounds like the preacher they are following? Go to another church and listen to them. they will use the unintelligible nattering that sounds like that guy. Just a little observation I made during my life in the purgatory of the fundamentalist school system.

  • i faked speaking in tonges.

  • @armarjaleo I can do that. I used to do that in my games, pretending it was a language. So yeah, you don't have to be Christian to be batshit insane xD

  • @armarjaleo why if your going to fake something fake being possessed and shit on the bible or something that'd be great

  • Al-Quran has 1400 years ago and Muslim Scientists has been declared "He (God) makes you (human), in the wombs of your mothers, in stages, one after another, in three veils of darkness".

    Al Quran sura Az Zumar;6

".....He (God) makes you, in the wombs of your mothers, in stages, one after another, in three veils of darkness. . . ."

Have the Bible and scientists/Darwin/Aristotle states "that is a true or a false"?

  • @mollenth It is in the Quran. You can be sure it doesn't worth attention.

  • A lot of people still believe in lies and they aren't even religious.

just a few examples: statism and paper money

  • Tracie Harris is awesome.

  • that last joke was hilarious lol

  • I can do the rolling of the tongue thing but its not getting me heaps of dates either

  • Comment removed

  • Speaking in tongues is fake! It was a gift given to the disciples to preach in foreign countries and now it's unnecessary. As for your candy money, in Proverbs 21:3 it says 'To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.'

  • @height76 Does that include things such as slavery and genocide? I have not read the bible, admittingly, but i believe it is Exodus 21, where Moses says what people it is acceptable to keep as slaves in GOD's opinion (correct me if i'm wrong). Also, i want to point out that it could never have been Justified to destroy all life on the planet (Obviously refering to Noah story) Noah's family could not have possibly been the only pure family remaining out of the millions that were killed?

  • @jordaniansparkes Certain things permitted in the Old Testament did not necessarily represent the ideal, the laws given to Moses were given to express how slaves and servants should be treated. For Noah's generation the warnings were clear, everyone had the opportunity to be saved, from a Christian view it is a consistent theme running throughout the bible, ultimately Gods judgement is final but if we follow Jesus we're saved.

  • @TheAtheistExperience Thanks. First time I've seen it like that.

  • Why are they sitting down like that in this episode?

  • @alexnzxVersion2 Matt was grounded.

  • yeaaaa! rushhhh!!!!!!!

  • Tom Sawyer is the shit.

  • i love this song! almost my favorite rock song.

  • What a truly amazing and brave kid, gives me hope that humanity will continue to be awesome :)

  • Lol. YouTube: where religion comes to die.

  • @freethinker923 or be thoroughly embarrassed

  • @freethinker923 Internet, you mean internet.

  • Could it BE any more obvious how religion is simply the most time honored money making scheme mankind has ever developed other than, perhaps, prostitution.

And yes, that was an intentional correlation.

  • @GermanChocolateCake you forgot the stock markets, where money makes money ;-)

  • He sounds like a Transformer!

    Just kidding around.

  • Stealing candy from a baby.

  • FUCK jesus camp that place is sickening

  • What would happen if someone became an atheist and tried ask for their tithing money back from their former church?? Never heard of anyone doing it.Just wondering what might happen.

  • that echo must be cause he´s calling from hell

  • How did this guy hold his tounge? An atheist in the midst of all them theists? I couldn't help but say something. They would have put me in a wicker man by the end of the first hour.

  • @antonyhamill

You: "You can't do this! this is a PAGAN practice!"

them: "Riiiight next you'll tell us easter and christmas were pagan festivals to! were not gullible!"

  • I like the call sing of this video. "Ideas are Invincible" The power of meme's run so deep. But that tells you how primative people still are by being owned by crappy , brain washing stories.

  • The sound of atheism....all Rush all the time!!! maybe some Queen too...

  • That lady is dumb. He already said he went there for 15 years and then he has to tell her again and she says, "WOW!"

  • A Jesus Camp thats the definition of a cult where uneducated parents send their kids to become more brainwashed until like this caller see it for what it really is and wakes up to reality and what a shock they needed money just like every other religious organization.

  • RUSH!!!

  • This guy is the reason why all these atheists on youtube making videos are actually not wasting time.

    And Tracy too.

  • @TheAtheistExperience The use of some musics, some images... things like that I like to put in my videos.

  • Why the guys from youtube don´t move to another country to avoid so many censureship?

  • @callac you know, that is a pretty good idea, but probably they are just lazy and dont care that much for cenzorship

  • massive credit to this chap how hard can it be to realize your mistakes and accept truth especialy in the world of the religious.

  • 1:53 and people say that we are wasting our time debating this stuff.

  • The internet never forgets, and it never forgives.

  • Lol, was listening to Rush just before the video started, Natural Science ^^

Damn youtube, I want to see those videos! :(

  • how can you not love Tracie

  • Anyone seen the doc Jesus Camp? I could only watch about a half hour of that. It's just sickening.

By the way, Rush is FUCKING AWESOME.

  • I'm Christian, and I never heard of that shit.

I hate all kinds of camp.

    Internment camp

    Concentration camp

    Summer camp

    Sex camp

    Camping,

    UGH!

    Jesus camp?

I guess Church wasn't enough to hold us all inside.

  • I saw the clips from BigAl2k6's rant (which is an awesome rant, BTW), and I'm convinced those children are brainwashed. And Becky Fischer should've been put in the slammer for her actions, not get nominated for an Oscar! >:(

BTW, her camp had been vandalized a few years ago, and it's been shut down ever since (also due to negative reactions toward the film). Unfortunately, Becky has plans to re-open it. :-O

  • So who is the hypocrite? Old enough to tell the truth to peers? Hypocrite

  • I remember my friend, who curses & yell at his mom(not violently), went to church camp. 2 weeks later he came back and holy shit! ALL he could talk about was how he was going to heaven and not us because we sin. But luckly, no matter how religus my friend was, he still couldn't put up with his mom and he was back to normal. Man that was weird...

  • A week before me and girlfriend started dating, she hooked up with this guy at her Bible Camp. I always found that hilarious.

  • I was a camp counsellor at a Christian camp for a summer. It turns out that out of 14 counsellors, 10 were non-believers (atheists or agnostics or undecided) and 1 was Jewish! hahaha I thought that was awesome. Atheists, we are not alone out there!

  • I think there's a difference between your Christian camp and Jesus Camp, canadianmaple09. Jesus camp is fundamentalist to the point that they tell kids that Harry Potter is evil and he would burn in hell.

At Jesus camp, if there were any non-believers as counsellors, they would have never told you they were because they wouldn't be hired otherwise. I don't think any atheist could even pretend to without some ulterior motive of getting things caught on film or something.

  • @KemaTheAtheist haha yes, I have no doubt the Christian camp I worked at was much different from what they refer to in the video. It was run by the United Church of Canada... very inclusive, very welcoming to everyone. That being said, I still couldn't stand their constant deferrence to an imaginary friend in the sky and thanking him for things they clearly provided for themselves through hard work and ambition. It was an interesting experience.

  • I don't know why people are surprised that christians think harry potter is wrong. Harry Potter is a wizard, fiction as is, doesn't matter. God tells you not to be involved in things like that and he doesn't say "unless it's fiction entertainment."
