i just want to let you know that i kind of know what you're going through. My mom left right after i turned 4. she moved halway across the country with her new boyfriend and started a new family just a couple years later. she called us at least a few times a week and would spend 2 weeks with us every summer. we saw her for new years in 2000 and that was the last time i ever saw her or talked to her. she sent us birthday gifts once in a great while. i'm so sorry for what you had to go through :(

i always used to take my parents for granted, i used to be so horrible to them and i would be so ashamed to be seen with my dad in public, because i was so self concious and i thought if people met him they would think he was weird or whatever. but i've learned, and i've seen what it's like not to have a parent and that has made me appreciate them so much more. i couldn't imagine my life without them, and it must be extremely hard for you. i have so much love for you. stay strong <3

On March 1st, 2006 Spc. Christpher S. Merchant was KIA in Iraq when a rocket propelled grenade hit the humvee he was riding in. He was my friend, my godfather, and my uncle.
