Hello people, the prime for almost anything is in one's 20s and 30s, not in their 40s, so of course she's not as good as she was and it's all downhill from here. Okay, now this is my opinion, and I urge you Whitney Houston fans to not slaughter this comment, but I prefer Mariah Carey's vocals over hers and just about any other female artists. Whitney might be able to hit more powerful notes, but Mariah's voice is like chocolate. It's so damn soothing, I just can't say there's a voice out there like hers and does more for me. When I'm feeling down, and need to listen to some music to comfort me, I tend to turn up her music on my earphones. She's lovely.

I love this performance!! I remember this concert being played as a t.v. special in New Zealand when I was about 9. I taped it off t.v. coz i wasn't allowed to stay up that late. I hate when people say "I miss THIS Mariah Carey". Who cares? We still have her around, and although she might not sound as perfect as she does here, she's still AWESOME. This performance was amazing and we should feel privileged to be able to listen to such a beautiful song by a beautiful singer. Let's admire her for past performances like this and hope we get to see many more great ones in the future! :)

I agree, but this live version is vocally even better than the original record. The high G#5 in the bridge was etereal. Nobody can match this woman at her peak. I mean, who can belt that note and sound so tender yet powerful?

this song saved my life many times in middle school and whenever I've needed to preserve my sanity this song has helped me through a lot thank you so much Mariah Carey for giving us this song.I remember watching you and even seeing you at the Garden in 96 I was in awe then and I'm still in awe now you're awesome thank you so much MC for impacting my life with this song

she totally ups 6 notes from the album version at 3:05. at that point shes showing off a little and i LOVE IT. so awesome. this is my favorite performance of Hero, and thats saying a lot since I've seen probably a hundred.

Everyone has there own opinion and can think whatever they want about mariah carey. by them commenting her videos rudely only shows there maturity levels and how much they crave attention. im not going to name any names but some people probably will never have as much talent as mariah carey and they feel jealous which is another reason they leave rude comments..........grow up people.
