I'm surprised no one has mentioned my fav: QualiaSoup. Maybe because he doesn't post very often, but his videos are definitely quality over quantity. Every time I watch one I ask myself, 'Why didn't I say that?'
Damn, only one? There is Ozmoriod, Thunderf00t, Potholer54, DarkMatter2525, Greenman, AronRa, AndromadasWake (sadly silent now), TheLivingDinosaur, COncOrdance, Ainulindale21, cdk007, the list goes on and on. To choose just one would be an injustice to all the great rationalist youtubers.
Thunderf00t was the youtuber who got me interested in the atheist community on youtube. Philhellenes added to my interest. v00d00sixxx's account of growing up in a abusive fundamentalist home and yet turning out to be a decent guy was inspiring. dgeypscun's fatherhood bravery in the face of his daughter's health challenges is currently the most inspiring thing I see on youtube.
I'm kind of glad he stays. He's cute. As for the poll question: Hard to say... When it comes to overall work, it's probably potholer54. The most inspiring single video would be "Science saved my soul..." by philhellenes. That is an intense piece of poetry.
Hey! Everybody is listing multiple people! Nobody told me I could do that. So in addition to Coughlan, I would say Vogter, UJames, Anekantavad, Divinity, JordanOwen but it was TheAmazingAtheist who brought me to youtube, without him I may never have stuck around to find the others.
A fella named Oallos1 made a video a couple of years ago that was, in my opinion, deeply flawed. Then when I pointed out to him how flawed his video was, he deleted my comment. My first video was a rebuttal to him. If it wasn't for him, I would prob'ly never have started making videos at all, so I guess he'd have to be my number one, although there are certainly many YouTubers I dig more.
Inspiring? AngieAntiTheist! Although my story can't hold a candle to hers, we are similar: fundamentalist upbringing; buying it all; being party to the wrecking of live(s) through dogma; finding a way out; being estranged from family; having more than a bit of social anxiety; and carrying on regardless. On the bad days, it's about commiserating and coping. On the good one's, it's about living. Wallowing in a pool of self-pity is for losers. Cut the crap. She's done it; I have no excuses.
Well, I'm in love with a YouTuber but I won't tell who she is yet. 'though the more awake could figure it out easily enough. PostGender & GenderQueerChat LeeCamp2

I need to impersonate dunderhead more to become a paragon too! First step, gilding my loins!
On topic of the new question, as I'm effected most by youtubers who defend something i 'know' is wrong very effectively, and make me think 'why is this wrong.' ThePr0digy clarified my epistemology, bgaede my ontology, dechha1981& onision for my ethics. I wish I could include TYT or an open course university, or say it is you.
It's probably Variablast as he inspired me to make videos in the first place
For me, this is actually not a feel good question.
The person who got me interested in youtube, as a comunity, was WilliamCardno.
Pretty much every time I sign in, I think of him-- when he called me, one of the things we usually touched on, at some point in the conversation (if the call wasn't about something more serious) was discussing the trends in the atheist/skeptic's community of youtube.
I miss him. His memory still inspires me, and will probably continue to inspire me.
Wildwoodclaire1 or AronRa or misterdeity or lacigreen/gogreen18 Although I'm painfully disappointed in the Love146 debacle and her refusal to own it. or dprjones or klingschor He debunks Islam with proper scholarship. Or dgeypscun The puppet humour is wonderful and very clever I especially love Imaginary Gary's puppet video reviews
Damn; that's a tough question. There are so many different bastions of inspiration that it's impossible to narrow it down to ONE. Thus, for a variety of reasons, my CHOICES are (in no particular order): 1. ZOMGitscriss 2. thelivingdinosaur 3. dgeypscun-tied with-DrApologist
Next time (if there is a next time), focus on a specific category of inspiration; science, academia, beer, music, the dialectic, sex, puppets, atheism, drugs, politics, skepticism, etc.
Hmmm, that's a tough one. I'm gonna go with I'mGoingToLoveYou or ZJemptv. ZJ is very personally empowering for me...and Rich gives me that really warm tingly feeling in my chest.
There are actually three YT Atheists (should that be capitalized?) that come to the top of my list for different reasons...
1. Phillhellenes (sp)
2. FearBlandness
3. Jason...Djason... Djepsyn...that fleshy guy from Opinionville. It amazes me that you can hold it all together considering what you and your phamilee goes through.
Giivideos, he deconverted me single-handedly.
