I want to do some swordfishing with my friend when i get a boat, not a big boat but i wanted totry like throwing harpoons or will a spear gun work on the boat because i hear using a rod can take 5 hours and i want to make some money off of it.
this is the only way it should be done and to have no longliners on our quota to get caught then they go to theyre own ,its not right if they are called longliners then go longlining not harpooning
Hey bbfreak they're not out there for fun, they're fishing for a living. I've been there, talked to these guys. It's the longliners that are killing the fishery. This the most efficient way,and NO BYCATCH.
LOBSPERT,try and get a copy of "Who owns what Canada 2009" , you may have to go toHalifax library to get it,but you'll see who's calling the shots down there.
@baseballfreak619 you are an asshole. cows are killed on the spot so you can eat burgers. chicken are killed on the spot so you can eat kfc. stop being stupid, if you don't like the video then stop watching it. go to your backyard and grow some lettuce.
@felixmanalojr shut the fuck up. i didnt say anything about the video. i am saying that it is sad that they do that to these fish. and plus, i'm a vegetarian.
thats amazing, i love all kinds of fishing, but i have never come across this before. why are the sword fish just staying at the surface? i know when we fish for marlin here in the caribbean there is no way of finding them by eyesight, at least not so relyable
where do you guys fish out of?

it is so sad to fish for swordfish. it is really fun, it is, but when you catch it and look at it's colors, they fade away because it's dying/

It takes a few days for the fish to adapt to the colder waters. Physical conditioning I'm sure.
