If your Wii isn't American, make sure to region-free the WAD. If you're using the replacement version, it should work exactly like the official US version, so if you can install that, then you can install this WAD. If you're using the alongside version, it still is basically a modified US version, so it should still work fine if you can get the US version working.
Does this mean you could theoretically (it may not be practical) take one of the high res/cartoon texture packs for oot/mm/sm64 and install them on the wad?
Theoretically, yes. However, you'd have to reverse-engineer the .T64 format so that you could insert your own textures, and also figure out how the WAD "knows" which textures to replace so they would actually load. All things considered, I doubt it would ever happen.
It's probably pointless to a lot of people, and there's not really much I can nor want to do to change their opinion. It's not pointless to me, though, and that's all that matters. It only took like 45 minutes to make, so it's not like I wasted a ton of time on it either.
PJ64 runs Zelda games perfectly. The effects don't appear to be butchered like they are on VC and you can force the game to run in widescreen without causing any graphical anomalies
Before MM officially came out in the US, people injected the US version into the PAL WAD. The results were very similar to this, but the way it was accomplished differed; instead of removing the offending .T64 files, they just prevented them from loading. Unfortunately, their WAD was huge (somewhere around 290 blocks) and didn't have any customizations (the title on the Wii Menu was still "Zelda: Majora's Mask").
Any chance you can fix the VC Paper Mario?

This is just more reason why the original console is the only way to play...are you going to go through every element in the game and correct it?
logos2600 4 weeks ago
@logos2600 Well games and consoles take up space, so it's nice to go digital.

Do you have to use the classic controller for this? (I read elsewhere that you did.) Or can I use my GC controller?

@themasternateshow
Like other Virtual Console games, you can play this with a GCN controller or a Classic Controller.

I'm glad I have good eyes for spotting these kind of things. Then again, maybe it's a curse? :p

for some unknown reason, the PAL version has the better effects.

What about the Gamecube version?

the bombchu shade was pretty dark when it lit uo. Is that fixed?
noscreenname1 3 months ago
@noscreenname1
No, that's an emulator error. I can't fix that without rewriting/modifying the emulator (which no one knows how to do), so I didn't bother with it.

@darkeye14 Oh okay that makes a lot more sense. It seemed to me like it had been a huge project for you or something but 45 minutes is nothing.

I have the n64 cartridge and I play this game from time to time.
Still bad how lazy nintendo was. It is like a bad rom on an n64 emulator for the PC

@Hampsterboy420 A bad rom of Zelda or bad graphic settings let it look like this. I know Zelda works great on PJ64.

What's strange is that the GC version doesn't have any flaws like this.
