This is a pistol and not a SBR unless you add a stock which requires a stamp and bucks. If you are 21 and have no issues with the background check, you can own one and be blasting away in 48 hours. Just be sure to buy the forend as the barrel gets exceedingly hot!

@dankardas sad to say if you do that there is a tax from the ATF of 200 bucks to do so, do to it going from a "handgun" to a "sbr" aka short barrel rifle sucks but thats the ATF!

@dankardas Just buy an SU-16: Same receiver and action but with a stock. This way you don't need to bother with regional and state laws that may get in the way. Less fuss and you should always have a dedicated rifle

I am DYING to the Kel Tec SU 16C...223 Carbine with the folding stock. Called my Dealer and he said its about $540!!!

I completely agree - No way would I recommend that to anyone. Most folks dont realize but, the only real way to snap off an Acurate shot is - to use the Sling, rap it around your Elbow and Push the Rifle away from you, while looking through the site. Even then, its a very shaky aiming method. for the Price, you're better off buying an actual Handgun - thats smaller, and easier to control.

You can put a shoulder stock on the PLR-16, but in the states you have to obtain a 200 dollar tax stamp, because a stock will turn it into a Short barreled rifle, which puts it in the AOW category.

Don't know how that all works out in Germany though.

@noob1917 The law in my state says that as long as you are 1500 yards from a building and are on your own land or have permission from the property owner then you're fine. It is more common in the country though. When I lived in the sticks I would hear shots in the distance all the time. Especially during deer season of course.

@86taw This is a pistol and theyre really cool. You can sbr it if you want for the $200 tax stamp. I dont know if keltec still has the sbr stock though. The plr is very reliable and can be had from 4- $500. check out the forum for the plr over at ktog.org
