Still does not sound tight enough, specially when playing fast palm mute notes.Looks like overdrive or tube screamer needs to be add on to get selected notes on high gain?
The clean and the overdrive sound almost exactly right. The distortion... I'm afraid sounds pretty bad. There is a dryness and lack of punch, like a fuzz box. Palm mute makes a dry choking sound... Sounds like neither Vintage or Modern modes. Vintage tends to have lots of organic goodness and liquid mids (none of that here) and Modern has slightly dryer sound but lots of cut and punch (none of that here either). Modern can sound really huge and compressed on bass strings with dark EQ.
@astro2069 blackstar has a very own sound, but could be better in terms of responce and dynamics cause of the tube. but the AMT's do a great job emulating those amps, and they come quite close imo.
@wolfgar926 For all I know it sounds better, but we'll never know because you haven't contributed anything to Youtube except for comments like the one above.
But i play metalcore style (unearth, as i lay dying, bullet for my valentine etc...) what is the best for me ? B1 R1 P1 E1 ? (i have already a bogner alchismist amp and i'am looking for a modern high gain saturation)
@6StringAxeMoFo I did speak to the AMT guys a few months ago about doing some Mesa, Dumble, Matchless stuff. Serg told me he was working on it but I've yet to hear/see the progress. I can't explain the '1' thing, I'll ask for you and report back. The cleaner pedals (F1/V1) are great with drives. The M1 is great with a treble booster. The rest all have so much gain that another drive pushing them isn't going to have a huge effect.
@VKzGibson To the computer which was recording the same session at the same time. That's why there are two videos: one for the Cab Sim and one for the Power Amp. So you can compare.
@genocideist Probably best to look for another solution if you need to run into the normal input of your amp. Try the Wampler Triple Wreck or MI-Audio Tube Zone. Both do a pretty good recto. This does as well but should really be used as a preamp for best results.
@Bluessucker No there's a question I don't get asked very often. Basically, if you ran a Bullet mic into it (or any of the others) and then the pedal into a desk, it would be the same as running your mic into the amp these things emulate. So in this case, it would be similar to running the Bullet into a Rectifier set to high-gain. Rocking. :) Hope this helps.
I do not use a Bullet. Any of them. Instead I use Shakers.I love them! I just like to experimenting and would like to try out how does they are working out with R-1 and analog delay. But as you can imagine all costs... And most of us are just a working class men. So that's why I am checking out if someone have an experience before I am buying. Though how many people so many opinions, isn't it?
is it necessary to own AMT B/M/S/P/R-1 and SS-20 at the same time? well, if I wanna have one or both, how to locate them in my pedalboard? i think the last of my DS/OD system :p, thx
@xiaorongTW Necessary? No. Fun? Yes. :D. All these guys do is give you different flavours of amp sims, that's all. If you want to base your sound around a cranked Marshall, then go for the M1. Bogner? - B1. Recto - R1. Get the idea? Cheers.
@Ghop7577 That's a tough one because they're quite different. The Hot Wired is geared towards single coil axes so it has a fairly heavy midrange that is great for my Strat and Tele. The Gristle King is not so 'humped' and works better with humbuckers. So if you look at it that way.. :)
@Zhorellski Same sort of deal but two different applications: The Triple Wreck doesn't have a CAB SIM output and the output it does have is not meant to be inserted into a power amp, although you could experiment. The rule is: I want a preamp - AMT; I want a standard stompbox - Wampler.

I'm playing a show with my band soon and just wondered is it viable to run the R-1 through my amp and also to the desk ?
I want to get a big sound will that work OK?
Also I run it into my return on amp and didn't sound much different from running it into front of amp thought it would?

Sounds good but could be troublesome if you're playing live and you're not sure if the amp used has returns

Does the pedal works like a preamp even it is off? I mean, the clean sound you have at the beggining is the same you 'd get without the pedal?

can you play these pedals in front of an amp like a normal pedal ?
joemiracle220 1 year ago
What exactly does the "R" stand for in this pedal?
The M is Marshall
S is Soldano
P is Peavey
B is Bogner
The only thing I can think of is Randall, but, that's not a legendary amp!
