Reading about people bashing Obamas head because of the healthcare reform is insane to me. In my country we pay as much taxes as you but have free education, free healthcare, free food in schools etc etc. The republicans talk about not allowing gay marriage etc just seem so oldfashioned for me, and cruel.

You are not stating facts, being energy independence is not something we can say this is how it will be, we can say what we hope it will be not facts. Under the democratic congress we saw our gas prices increase a lot more than it did with a republican congress. And at least fox doesnt portray Obama as a god as the rest of the networks do. Although, fox is not the only network i watch.

Why don't you try watching CSPAN or listening to NPR... I watch all the other networks too for entertainment but I realize that they are a far stretch from the news. They have their own corporate interests involved.

Kirst, FOX is just fine for the Simpsons and X-Files re-runs. But I agree with eStick that CSPAN is really the best a person can do - unfiltered direct from the halls of congress and Washington. Along with NPR you could watch the BBC and other reputable international news sources. There are also newspapers like the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal (just to name a couple American ones).
