Hi Dave I've been looking at your vid's and there just amazing. Your set up must of cost you a small fortune, could I be rude and ask how much you paid for your antenna and tower?
thats a verry nice big roatary washing line you have there dave ,if the user named darynsax told his wife she could put the washing on there i think she would have a verry big smile on her face LOL 73s ian
hehehe Dave your wife must be really down to earth, Ive just shown my wife and asked if it was ok to have an antenna system like yours and she said xxxx xxx xxxxx xxx xxxxx xxxxx xxxxxx and they are not kisses hahahaha
What a lovely array! A station is only as good as it's antenna(s) and you have a great station!
Regarding the NIMBYs: It's only an eyesore(for them) until communications infrastructure is limited, commercial phone systems are federalized, and they desperately need a relay to find out important information. Then it becomes a way point for the place to be in those situations. I'm assuming they don't have an instant ham shack ready to erect or the license to operate.
Thankyou, yes we had problems with "Nimbys" but hey,its only a few and we don't bother with them now (Their loss...LOL!!!).I'd rather talk to guys like you in The States...........thus this antenna array...............I've invited you on here as a friend........hope to work you soon!!!.........73's DAVE (M0OGY) North Lincolnshire UK.
Im in Ireland at the moment, but can't find a net connection that allows me to echolink. :( I dodnt bring any other equipment. I have a verticle for 20m that will be up when I get home long enough to erect it. Hope to work you as well!
Thanks Mark and Simon,I had 9 neighbours object to the planning so I had to speak in the council chambers @ Pittwood House in Scunthorpe who granted the planning in the end.I also made the local paper 3 times with the story!.Anyway don't talk to the local "NIMBY's" now!!!.Mark I like the PRO3 but now the 2000 has had the faults sorted (Via software upgrade ) it is superb too.I also run a 1990 Yaesu FT1000D that I prefer to any of the latest radios.......A proper Radio !!...Thanks DAVE (M0OGY) UK
Hey Dave let me know when your neighbour moves. I will buy his house, sabotage your coax and run to my shack instead h.i. Very nice antenna array and tower. Well done and Congrats!
hi dave how long did it take to get the council to grant you permission for that set up ! i have to start the process with my council soon it sound a load of hassle just to get a antenna mast up ! not looking forward to the screams of the moaning sods around me ,ooooo whats that thing lol keep up the good videos dave ps icom pro 3 or yeasu ft 2000 ? which one lol 73s de mark
Yes it does takes its toll on my wrists Drewerz....I need to find a 4X4 12volt winch @ least for the section wind up...You've got to keep an eye on them ,so you don't over extend the sections which could be a disaster M8. If you fit a electric winch it's wise to fit a limit switch to stop it.The braked hand winches on these beasts cost £150 each so a electric one would be £300+ I would guess......73's Mick .........DAVE (M0OGY)
I bet you know you've done it when you've wound that thing up & down don't you m8:)LOL. But still, if @ham radio' is your thing, you can't fail to be impressed by that tower, well done m8:)
Thanks Caine, nine neighbours don't speak (they complained @ the Planning with the local council two years ago but hey..... lifes a bitch and then you die. Only one restriction, it has to be in its lowest position when not in use.....DAVE (M0OGY)
Very nice set-up OM. Congratulations.
