I bet you could get away with alot more pitch from the sound of it. I've seen smaller craft like this one go about that fast with a 9.9. cool lil boat, nice work!

yea worried that if i go more pitch it wont make plane, it takes a while to make plane now with no power trim

we had that issue once, and it turned out to be that the timing was overadvanced on the motor itself, and it wasn't a trim issue at all, rather the engine was fighting against itself. with that sorted out, all was well. Just a thought. That thing should squirt out of the hole with that setup! Oh well, I'm sure you'll figure it out, good luck!

type is called "spitfire", this one is the second generation, first type has same hull (downside) but top was rounder at the back.

Had one when I was young with 40 hp merc.

that was wide open and its less then 30mph believe it or not, but that motor doesnt have power trim and the shaft is too far down in the water i bet that it would down around 40 45 mph with that corrected

yea its about as current as it gets, rack and pinion steer not the old wire and pulleys

we got it for free when my neighbors moved about 10 years ago, it was orignally black and we spit the 2 halfs and sanded, bondo'd, primed and paint and it put it all back together and we bought the motor off another friend

I have exactly the same boat and engine!!??! Where does the cavatation plate sit on the boat as mine is about 1/8 of an inch too high? is yours like this also? Many thanks Jas Gray

i think ours sits abit low in the water its hard to get on plain bc of no power trim, and the motor is off a pontoon boat, but were goin to put a 35hp with power tilt/trim on it

40 km/h is a bit slow with a 25hp... In this vid the engine is trimmed in too much, if you trim it up you'll get your bow out of the water and you will gain some speed :P

yea we know it doesnt have power tilt, it wont plane on takeoff with it set on the next notch up. were upgrading to a 35 with power tilt/trim :) should fly then
