You have to see Owen live to really appreciate his songs, and one of the things that stands out aside from his beautiful guitar playing and powerful lyrics, is his soft and serene voice. He doesn't need to be loud or try hard to make his point, and at the same time his voice fits his music SO WELL and it brings you to tears. He is a beautiful singer, and this is coming from a 6'4 guy with a burly beard. He is a beautiful singer.
saw Mike just last thursday, totally in his element @ the First Unitarian basement (haha) in Phila. LOVE that venue. So personal. The audience was whisper quiet and rightfully so, what a magical show to watch! I'd recommend Owen to almost everyone (with half a brain), and i'd go to one of his shows anytime, anywhere. Good stuff.
Mike Kinsella is one of the most creative and talented musicians I've ever heard, and I've fallen in love with all of his music again and again after listening to Owen.
This is the album version? Never heard this. I think mine was from the Daytrotter session or whatever. Regardless, each version is amazing. Thanks for uploading.
