@Bengalskickass - Gus Johnson originally did announcing for other sports and was not involved in doing football. In 2009, CBS asked him to be a regional announcer for some of their NFL games. He was the play-by-play guy when the Broncos got very lucky and beat the Bengals during the first game of the season. He also called the Jaguar game this year where the cornerback batted the ball right into the hands of the receiver for the game winning TD. He's great because of his enthusiasm.

gotta love thursday night football. they're needs to be more sporting events on during week nights. it gets boring watching shitty basketball games all week. It's great the way football is set up. You have your thursday night game, then college ball on saturday, then your main event of nfl on sunday, and it all gets wrapped up on monday night, followed by reactions all week. Great stuff.

@DavidJ751990 they actually reduced the Saturday night slate from 3 games to 1 game and increased Thursday night from 5 games to 7 games in 2008. I aree it sucks. Even though I like the NFL network theme and their presentation of the game, I wish the NFL had never gotten rid of Saturday afternoon games like they did after the 2005 season. I wish CBS and FOX had been allowed to continue doing those games and perhaps just let NFL network do the Saturday night games.
