  • thank you

  • Animals like us, they think we're cute! ha. My first on-paper Roshi without a temple, Gary Snyder.

  • he understand the heartbeat of mother earth thats what i call it. which theese industralist dont seem to understand

  • What is the title of the first poem he read?

    It's beautiful.

  • I had the pleasure of hearing Gary Snyder read in San Diego in 1975 or 76.

He is one of the truest strongest voices i've ever heard & he has been a voice informing my life all this time.

Great that these postings give him a whole new audience. I hope they benefit as I have.

  • I wish I could see him, I feel the same. I've only known of his work for about 5 years but I feel his thought has informed mine a great deal. I also hope people watch these and it means something to them

  • he seems so close to asian values and native american traditions of respecting nature i have admit his poetry should be retold in the world environment day since we live in the age of global environment catastrophe

  • I re-read his work all the time. He is a truthtreller in a nation of hustlers and word mercenaries.

He spent 7 years in a traditional zen monastery in Japan and is a practitioner still.

His college work was on native americans he majored in anthropology at Reed College.

His parents were socialists and he grew up living close on the land.

He is the real deal and the influences you sense are as authentic as is probably possible for a white North American.
