The 10% less damage isn't that huge of a deal, considering you overkill most targets anyway so it'd only rarely increase the shots to kill. And an extra rocket coupled with a special attack is still nothing to snort at. And the absence of crits most just stops you getting a Kritzkrieg pocket.

The Direct Hit does indeed have its uses, as does the CM5K. So between the stock, DH, and CM5K, the choice is up to your play style and the needs of the match.

What you said is true, however I would say that the Liberty Launcher could be equipped as a response to a very skilled Pyro reflecting too many of your stock rockets. And I know it doesn't count but the Black Box is good for Saxton Hale :P

Righteous Bison is so underrated. It is invaluable in tight corridors, especially the sewers in 2fort, if the enemy team is rushing and Pyros are reflecting your shit. Spam Bison lasers and they're dead. Best Soldier sidearm IMO.
Anywho, the patch severely nerfed the charge shot with the Cow Manger. It used to be able to kill multiple (I'm talking four or five) people standing together and light them on fire if they didn't die. They also fixed that amazing taunt charge shot glitch. (You could taunt while shooting your charge shot)
@mGpivot857 That's debatable. Overall the normal rl is better because most likely you have your team around (so more access to dispensers, medics). I guess if you stray off on your own the black box is better for you.
@pitterr5 Well to be fair, if it were not for the bug that made it Stronger than the stock Rocket, it would have been horrid on release. The downsides simply were not listed on the gun. The only actual nerfs were the removal of the damage bug, the taunt firing bug, and the slowing of reload.

That's wrong, there's a huge downside to it. It's one of the worst launchers you can use if you're going to be pocketed by a Medic. No crits, AT ALL, (no kritzkrieg, crit boost, anything), so Medics hate you, it's also useless on buildings. I think the bison doesn't go through buildings anymore.

@awsomeman75 Lol, it's not the hud, well partly. Go to ESC>Advanced setting>and check the boxes you want. The PvHud makes the numbers yellow and bigger. Without it they will be smaller.
You mentioned the Righteous Bison was like a shotgun. I think it's more like a second rocket launcher because, like you said, it fires in a straight line, but it also moves slower.

@qwertyp15 the damage is almost the same because the ramp up is different, and you don't have to charge at all if you don't want to. The only downside is it gives soldier an actual counter (every other class has hard counters). Even then, like the solemn vow, with an alert that you'll deactivate a sentry you can get your team to faceroll your one new counter :D. I still prefer the original, but that's just because it sounds amazing.

does about 15% less damage than the normal rocket launcher, the mini-crit attack deals about 3x damage but makes you lose all ammo. best thing i can see about it is the "goes through sentry" part

@SSBBplay It cant be nerfed, trust me less damage is TOO underpowered even for valve to see clearly and not as much ammo or something would also be too underpowered.

@SSBBplay In my opinion that guy is not that great since it takes away the airblast. Sure it heals you and gives you crits but ppl at a decent range can take you down no problem.

@SSBBplay It won't be nerfed to hell. Its lasted 3 weeks without a nerf. In fact when I see one of these Pyros with the new flamethrower, I grin because I can take full advantage of them and their lack of airblast. Honestly, if this gun gets fed, either the Pyro pulled a good ambush or the victim that charged up this gun is an idiot. Plus, if Valve ignored those who were begging for a Machina Nerf, I doubt they'll listen. Adapt, simple.

@vivhero You've obviously never played on 2Fort before. Friendly base camping Pyros make it impossible. And you've obviously haven't seen the op side when the Pyro taunts (which Pyros have inuvln while doing). It's hard to get at a decent range on 2Fort. The map is constructed to screw you over with these types of things!

@SSBBplay Okay, out down the little act. Yeah, the weapon can be abused on 2Fort, but lets face it, 2Fort has always been a map unbalanced by new weapons. Many people who play competitive actually consider the new Pyro Flamethrower to be awful and near useless. And insane? Please, you're just another kid going through his/her "Dark and Edgy" phase.

@qwertyp15 the damage is almost the same because the ramp up is different, and you don't have to charge at all if you don't want to. The only downside is it gives soldier an actual counter (every other class has hard counters). Even then, like the solemn vow, with an alert that you'll deactivate a sentry you can get your team to faceroll your one new counter :D. I still prefer the original, but that's just because it sounds amazing.

@MrRobCorso Dude weapons are balanced! Let me tell you something: I once went on server which was disconnected from the items server so I was forced to play as spy with the basic gear. I got as much points as I would with my Enforcer/Big Earner/Dead Ringer. Believe me or not but I really did this!

does about 15% less damage than the normal rocket launcher, the mini-crit attack deals about 3x damage but makes you lose all ammo. best thing i can see about it is the "goes through sentry" part
