Read it. Still not convinced. Why you ask? Ado is still an androdgonous character with no confirmed gender and Adeliene is still a confirmed female with a different name. And Nintendo still (and will probably always) never said anything on the subject. Ergo, contrairy to what that person said, the Ado/Adeliene mystery is not solved and will never be solved until the day NINTENDO comes and sets the record straight. Until then (aka NEVER), its nothing but fans arguing.

Ado is the name given to the gender unknown painter in KDL3. Adeleine is the name of the female painter in K64.

In the Japanese version, Adeleine's katakana spells "A do re~ nu". Only the first two characters are used to spell her name in DL3. Also, Whispy Woods is shortened to just "Whispy".

Well, IMHO Ado's design and gestures seem a tad more boyish than those of Adelaine. That leads me to think that yeah, they are two different characters and that Adeleine is a girl while Ado is a boy. Or a tomboyish girl maybe?

Secondary media like anime and manga are usually told to do what they want with the story and characters (and their story's end up as basically as ......official fanfiction?). :/ So it's hard to accept any source that isn't from the game developers.

This is a mystery I doubt will be answered anytime soon (nearly 10 years since a humanoid painter was in a Kirby game I think?).

Ado and Adeleine are the same person. The same color of the clothes, the hat, the cheeks, the painting colors, maybe because the word "Adeleine" did not fit in over in the map, or maybe because it is the japanese equivalent, remember that in Japanese a female's name can end with o.

After looking it up, it turns out no 1 knows if Ado and Adeleine are the same person. No one even knows Ado's gender for sure (I just presume boy). And Nintendo/PAL will probably never sort this out.

So all we have is what we believe. (though I think if a new Kirby game uses a humanoid painter person, Adeleine will more than likely be used, forever replacing Ado).

Someone else brought that up. I already know Adorenu is the Japanized form of Adeleine. As I've said in another argument, I need official word from Nintendo/HAL/Sakurai that Ado=Adeleine (The different names along with Ado's unconfirmed gender is what puzzles me). Wikipedia is notorious for having questionable info, so I can't just believe what is stated on that site (no matter the language).
