  • Great job on this great tune. Particularly like the verses, the playing & Vocals!

  • I actually like how you did Keith's part--there are real notes to it and you didn't completely copy him

  • fantastique!!!!

  • An excellent rendition. It has some great chords. Goes to show how good Pete Townsend was to have written it. This is one of the best tracks on the album Quadrophenia. Those who haven't heard the album should have a listen. It has some kicking guitar sounds in it and some mental drumming by Keith Moon! Excellent playing dude.!

  • this is great but could u give us a lesson on how to play pinball wizard the last guy who did it sucked

  • wow, really enjoyed that! Also a big thankyou for your excellent version of "The Song is over" which I learned from your video!

  • how can anyone say that was lacking anything? Jesus mate, I've watched all your videos...it's all Rainman type shit...genius

  • @somethingfunnyhere

I don't know how you compare "Shakedown Street" to this song, the Dead and Garcia didn't even write the lyrics, they bought them from Robert Hunter. This song is one of the few songs that Keith Moon sung, wish they remastered Quadrophenia if they could!

  • Really well done :)

  • One of my absolute favortie Who songs! Amazingly done!

Reeeeeeeeally needs Moon's accent though ;)

  • Wow, amazingly done. All I can play is mary had a little lamb... Anyway, did you sing and play at the same time, or did you record your voice over the playing.

  • @beatlesfan831 same time. I practiced the song without vocals so extensively that I probably could have recited the Gettysburg address while playing it.

  • Mindblowingly Good. Id pay one hundred english pounds!

  • Musical genious, has to be said. However no Keith Moon Cockney, still brilliant though.

  • I would love to see you plAY qUADRAPHENIA from the beginning to the end i know its a stretch but your really good

  • It would have been awesome if you went into that accent, lol.

  • very nice

  • you're awesome!!

  • i've simply been watching too many guitarist videos, refreshing to see some keys :I You gotta helluva lot of talent there Graeme! Great job on a rather unordinary song (maybe not for a pianist, anyway.) Keep up good work!

  • very nice.....i might add very nice

  • Wow that was awesome man

  • I struggle the upper notes . . . some lessons helped me but I need more.

  • This is a great job, man you are good at the piano (you like sustain pedal huh ?) and even brilliant at singin'. I really enjoyed it.

  • if I could sing as well as you'd I'd be a fucking star. but I can't sing for shit. :-(

but that's okay. life deal's a hand. you've got to deal with it. fuck it's a bitch having to fix this sorry corrupt country

  • this video helped me a lot

im trying to play the four themes of quadrophenia together

  • i like it but u need 2 practice on the keith moon part

  • Yeahr...try kicking the pianah over or summat/. :D

  • GOOD JOB

  • I got a good job, and I'm newly born, you should see me dressed up in my uniform! my favorite part :P

  • Love It

  • Bloody hell! Hw are you managing to do all these songs?! Also great vocals on this one and eminensce front:D Keep up the great work!

  • thats pretty awesome! great covers!

    townshend would be proud

    nice work!

  • seriously man, you fucking blow my mind, your vocals are pretty fucking good aswell! you amaze me !

  • Stewboz, this sounds like a Pete Townshend´s demos. Thank you.

  • As a fellow WHO fan it would mean a lot to me if you would Subscribe to my Quad Channel where I cover the album. Also if you could comment and give a rate mate, if you like the work....Wink Jones

  • you did pete proud there!loved it .like how you sang thru the moon stuff too.song just chugged along!

  • It absolutely kicks ass. I was really hoping you would do the kind of rough cogney accent for keith's part. Although, it's definately not cause for a deduction strong 5/5.

  • Wow man, it makes me cry!

    I wanna learn piano now!

    Congratulations, you done right!

  • This makes me wanna learn keyboard/piano now lol! Anyways, is there by chance you could do a rendition of Sea and Sand, off the Quadrophenia album? You've seemed to master almost every Who song now LOL.

  • Dude at first I just thought you only knew the hits, but man you know some way cool Who songs, it is clear to me you are a true fan. tell me you make money with your playing. And would you do a cover of my myspace song?

  • たまりませんっ(^Д^)

  • Very Good!

  • omfg ... you are the best pianist i see in my life

  • I love these videos! The arrangements are fantastic, as is the playing.

  • BEAST MAN BEAST!!!!!!!!!!

  • quadrophenia is a masterpeice and you do it justice.

im gonna learn to play piano now :)

  • I like how you've got lyrics in front of you instead of music. Classy.

  • seriously you should like go on america's got talent or something, cause u would go far

  • Yeah, it's like listening to a Townshend demo. Something that would've been on one of the Scoop albums. Excellent!

  • Very good choice on the Keith Moon part. We're all expecting to hear the cockney there but your style and phrasing work perfectly. My favorite of all your excellent Who covers. Keep em coming.

  • i love your voice. it kinda has the pete townshend pure, clean sound to it. it sounds really good in this.

  • Thanks a lot, Mrs. Moon. I take it as quite a compliment for you to say that my voice is similar to Townshend's. I love Townshend's voice. Talk to you later.

  • Incredible man, your piano playing is really genious, The Who is my favorite band and you really impress me. My request is The Song is Over, nice song and Sunrise.

  • Hey, Thank you very much. You're in luck. I have recorded a version of The Song is Over. Its on my channel. Check it out. Thanks again. See ya.

  • HAHA... I have no cockney accent. I chose to just talk with my boring American accent because I was sure there would be backlash from people such as yourself if I did attempt it. I think I made the right choice. Thanks for the kind words though. I'm glad you enjoyed it, my friend. See ya.

  • I want to so bad. I love that song. You've just inspired me to start working on it. I really need to finish "join together" though. We'll see what happens. Thanks for the suggestion.

  • You should post a vid of that. I'd like to see it. Thanks for the kind words. Take care.

  • Yeah, I think I may have decresendoed but it couldn't be noticed because my camera compresses the audio as it records. Maybe if I can get some better equipment, I can get a more dynamic sound. Thanks for the suggestion. Take care.

  • No Keith Moon cockney sound? Why? Why? WHY???

  • Because it would have been terrible. I promice you. lol

  • @stewboz83 How could ANYBODY reproduce that?! Kudos! You nailed this.

  • This is really great. Just learned bellboy on guitar there. Great tune. I have a request.......Would ya do ' Athena ' ???

  • ooooo.. Athena. What a request. I do like that song. I'll give it a shot if I can get some of my higher priority songs out of the way. Thanks. See ya.

  • Great Job, you are the best I've seen, keep up the good work!!

    Cheers

  • Thanks alot. I plan to keep it up. I've been a bit of a slacker lately because my piano is out of tune again, but I'll be getting some up soon. Thanks again. See ya.

  • Your intro is pretty amazing!

  • As a drummer, I would expect you to take note of my attempted drum simulation intro. :P Or were you talking about the whole intro up until the vocals start? Anyway, thanks for the complement. good to hear from you again. Take care.

  • always stunning, the keith moon lines rendition indeed surprising...

  • Hey.. good to hear from you again. I've thought about covering that Italiamobile song. A few weeks ago, I was all over Italian chat rooms trying to get an accurate English translation for the lyrics, 'cause I don't think I can speak Italian, much less sing Italian. When you say that the Keith Moon lines were "surprising," is that a good thing or bad? :P Take care.

  • surprisingly good of cours!!

i could actually give a try for the translation, send me a private message

    ciao

  • Dude That was fuckin' AWESOME!!!! I was jammin along with you air guitarin' !! That so rocked!! I wish you did my Bar-Matzvah!! I'll let you know when my kid gets married and you got a gig!!

  • LOL.. I'm honored. Thank you for the kind words. I like to envision people playing air guitar while watching my vids... very encouraging. Thanks for sharing that. Do you think this genre is suitable for a Bar-Matzvah? :P Take care.

  • You are great at playing the piano. If you ever get the time to do it Love Reign O'er Me I think would sound great.

  • I'm workin' on that one right now. But first is going to be "join together"

  • I think my vids just don't have enough views to attact the bashers yet.

  • Hey Cole. Your request of "join together" is next up. I'm takin' my time on it. I might be havin' a little vocal assistance on that one, too.

  • "Vocal assistance" meaning his girlfriend who is slacking on her singing lessons. You're gonna need to crack a whip on her.

    ;)

  • Damn this is really good... inspired me to learn it, thanks!

  • Cool. Glad I could inspire you. Thanks for watching and commenting. Catch you later.

  • Well, I find that as long there is even the slightest bit of sincerity behind a persons comment, then people won't be so quick to bash them. I haven't really received any outright bashing comments. I guess I'm good enough for people not to think I suck and bash me. On the other hand, I guess I'm not good enough for people to be jealous of me and bash me. Its nice being in the middle of the spectrum.

  • I'll think about it. First off, I need to get a hold of some Grateful Dead tracks to listen to and learn off of. The only one I have right now is "Touch of Grey."

  • Yeah I'm reading it. Why don't you ask me to do "I'm a slave for you" because evidently that's what you think I am. lol. Now look here... "join together"=good; "going mobile"=good. Everything after that = NO. Its just a bit overwhelming. I won't cover Grateful Dead... not at this point in my life. For the next 2 months, you're only allowed to request Who songs. After that period, we can try again with non-who requests as long as you don't go crazy with that privilege. ;)

  • I like how people have to get in line to request songs for you to cover lol

  • Yeah... its a "virtual" line I suppose :P I've actually made a list of songs that everyone has requested and put it in a notepad document. I'm always going in and changing it / adding to it. somethingfunnyhere is the most demanding as of yet. :P If you made a request, it would automatically go to the top of the list because you're my girlfriend. That's your special privilage. LOL. I love you, baby. See you soon.

  • Now why on earth would I do that song? That is very Obscure. I would probably do "Cooks County" from "Its Hard" before I did "Trick of the Light." Yeah... "Cooks County"?.... yeah?.... Okay I guess I'll do that one. I apoligize... I'm just really bored. GO KENNY JONES!!!!!!

  • Maybe he doens't request songs off "All Things Must Pass" because he respects the fact that Who songs are my #1 priority. Somthing that you're evidently having trouble picking up. lol. I'm just messin' with ya. I did covers of Korn and Bruce Hornsby, so why not a little George Harrison. But right now I gotta go through these comments and see what other "demands" you've made of me so that I can laugh them into the dirt.

  • No problem. You should know by now that I love comments. I'm finding yours quite entertaining. lol

  • wow that was cool!! i really like the way you did keith's vocals. it was nice because you put your own spin on it. i loved it!!

  • Another great performance! I like the melody during Keith's first part, your adding your own touch. The whole song is a masterpiece just like every single song on Quadrophenia.

  • Okay Fine. But He's got to do that bass solo that Entwistle does At The Royal Albert Hall.

  • Okay, lets be realistic. It would take me the rest of my life to learn that bass solo. Plus I don't really think it would sound good on piano.

  • Another fine job! I'm still loving all those voices in there--ingenious how you worked those trumpets into it. Only down note is that you don't sound quite drunk enough in the Moon vocals. >;^D

  • DUDE!!!!! You're crazy good. Try Pure And Easy! as a follow to the song is over!!! Rock Out! :)

  • Now that's a good request. Its actually on my list. somewhere in the middle. Thanks for the comment.

  • G'day mate. I must be one of the biggest who fans and i am in awe of your videos. my dad got me listening to them when i was a young lad and ever since have loved them. I sent him all the links and he couldn't believe it. Massive baba o'reily fan and can't stop listening to it. how hard would it be to play a quick one while he's away?

  • Well, there's not much that I can do with the mechanics besides keeping dust out of the hinges. It mostly depends on the way I apply the notes when I'm playing that allows them to bounce back up promptly. I wasn't really happy with the sound of the Air video. I like a little bit stronger bottom.

  • I started around 5 year old... on a little toy keyboard.

  • Thank you very much my friend. glad you enjoyed it. Any requests?

  • But I've been lazy about getting them up to performance level, I just had to force myself to get busy on them. Once I got back in the groove, they started coming easy again like they did a couple months ago. And you would be pleased to know that I've been working in "join together" and my girlfriend is telling me that it sounds really good. It has a long way to go... at least another week. That harmonica intro is the killer. really fun though. Thanks for watching and commenting. see ya.

  • Hey, man. Good to hear from you again. I got your message in my youtube inbox also. The intro did take a few tries. Luckily it was right at the start so I could leave the camera running and just keeping doing it until it was right. My biggest problem is getting the action on the keys to spring back up so that I can make crisp sounding triplets like Moon does on the drums. The vids I just uploaded recently were covers that I have been working on for quite some time.

  • lol... thanks again. I am a bit obsessive when it comes to the acuracy of my renditions. I do my best and still make mistakes at times. Also, to capture the original mood or feeling of the song is a task all on its own. Hope to hear more from you. See ya.

  • Wow, I'm honored that you like it that much. Thank you for the encouragment. I hope you don't listen to it too much and get burnt out on it.

  • another fantastic performance! Impressive that you can learn the music by ear. How many times do you ereplay the tune before getting the right notes? (you must have a lot of patience)

  • Well I can't really distinguish the number of times that I listen to the song in its entirety. I will usually listen to it once from beginning to end to get the basic feel of the chordal structure. Then I sit at the piano with my ipod and begin the process of dissecting each section by pausing and unpausing and replaying difficult sections over and over until my fingers smarten up and muscle memory takes over. I do this to achieve the highest level of accuracy. Thanks for the comment. See ya.

  • Yeah, you were waiting for this one weren't you? I think I told you I would have it up a couple of days before I actually got it up here. So... sorry for the delay. :P Glad you enjoyed.

  • Yeah, I was inspired by Eddie629 to do this cover. On his video, he attempted Moon's cockney dialogue. I decided that I wouldn't be able to pull it off so I sang the first Moon section as Townshend did on his demo of the song. I've been practising this song for a while and I hadn't worked up a singing part for the second Moon section so I decided to do my best to speak in my boring American accent. I just hope that my Southern drawl didn't come through too much.. lol. Thanks for the comment.

  • great rendition of a great song by a great band. thanks.

  • My pleasure. I agree... this is a great song. It took careful planning as far as the whole Moon dialogue goes. Glad you enjoyed it. Talk to you later.

  • good stuff

  • Thank you kindly. Glad you dug it.

  • Hey, Steve, you are awesome. Keep it up.

  • doesn't his user name say "stew"? :P but yea he rocks pretty hard

  • Yeah, your right. Just knew him by Stewart, suppose i call people with that name Steve, Sorry, Stew:P

  • Its cool. poeple mistakenly call me Steve all the time. Thanks for the comment. I'm on a roll now. I think I'm going to try to do "Love Reign o'er Me" next. Talk to you later.

  • Thanks, Solaras. I've been piddling with this one for so long... I didn't think I was ever going to get it up here. Glad you enjoyed.
