I've heard Flim on the local weather forecasts on the Weather Channel a few times. I always felt like it was a little out of place. But now that I've heard this, I'm pretty sure it fits right in on the Weather Channel. I mean that in a good way, I love Weather Channel music...
I've been playing bass for 14 years now, I need to learn guitar and play thee songs though. It will take some time after almost a three year break from music due to the Army though. Oh well, one more thing to do to better myself when I get out of Afghanistan.
Really good job on these songs man, I appreciate it.
Hey man, as a fellow guitarist (though not one with your ear, apparently) I gotta say 'thanks,' especially for including the tabs. Flim has always been one of my favorite Aphex Twin songs and learning it on guitar will be fun.
This is so wonderful, I mean it. Hearing these songs on a classical guitar makes you realize how melodic Aphex Twin's music really is. I loved your take on Flim. Please keep making these interpretations. They are not flawless, but nonetheless very entertaining to listen to.
Amazing, just amazing. Your guitar is really bringing peace to my soul in troubled times. I'll have to get back to guitar playing to keep my head 'straight.' I just can't believe how amazing this sounds....
@ilikemitchhedberg ya playing a song yourself really connects you with it like nothing else can. I wish I could play piano, but I don't have the time to take on such a huge learning curve.
isn't as hard as you might imagine bro. Someone as clearly talented as you should have no big problem pickin it up. I just picked out a few chords from me guitar found the notes a few years ago and if you play it enough you'll get it. Oh and thanks for you music, it's spellbinding
I love Aphex Twin and one of my dream was to listen his art in an orchestration way, and I discovered "Alarm Will Sound", awesome.
Now i discover you, and it's great to listen Aphex's stuff played with an acoustic guitar ( i play guitar, but not as good as you!). You're awesome man.
i think listening to aphex songs played in this way give a nice insight to what he is really composing to those who would otherwise find his music just a load of strange noise. Aphex Twin true musical genius and mush overlooked
greetings from El Salvador!!! great job!!! how about trying Avril 14th... There's already a guy covering it here on youtube, but maybe you have a different take on it... keep up the great work...
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
well you play a fair bit of guitar, but i think compairing yourself to and original song creator like thom yorke like that is a bit out of your league.
@AndrewFlanders Well to be honest, that's all they even listen to, funny that you bring it up. Everyone on Warp Records; Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Boards of Canada, and probably Autechre is all they listen to
--It is widely known that Radiohead's Kid A was widely influenced by your music, in particular 'Come As you Are'...What do you think of their new stuff and other contemporaries?
APHX: Well they widely agreed to pay me 70% of the widely royalties so ,Im not complaining.
good rendition... i feel this guitar version would be perfect for a films soundrack, along the lines of 'tony takatani' or something as equally sentimental.
Thanks for all the tabs man it's nice to know that other guitarist are figuring these songs out for everyone. I really like rhubarb could you tab that when you get the time, I know the chord progression is rather easy but I can't play by ear very well.
Btw when I listen to aphex twin for me it makes me calm down and relax.
There's a couple guitar versions of Avril 14th on youtube now, one was added within the last month. I'll see if there might be an easier way to pull it off than how other people did it though.
I saw your drum videos, very nice. I wish you could drum over my songs my but I didn't use a metronome and I was focused on not messing up completely so the beat is probably all over the place. I've become better at finger style in the past few months though so I'll probably re-record some of these.
Na, I'll re-record it in the next couple weeks with a metronome in my ear. I tried tapping along and it was fubar. I have a new cover to record at the same time.
just noticed you did put them up. All the love!<3 This made me happy. Gonna learn them later on. been looking for something like this, You are the man! Guitar pro. Thanks again!
