Superb game. I've planned it so much and was able to win with hard setting on the main campaign. Only problem with this vid is that you fight a river battle which is extremely easy and you use you archers as infantry. Better to move them off to the side and send light followed by heavy infantry or whatever works.

Only thing I wish was different about MTW2 is if the battles were 10 times the size like how it was in real life of armys that were 200,000 strong that would be bad ass,but I know it's not possible with most computers yet.

First: one of the worst French battle actions ever seen

Second: Nobody would send straight ahead an army into a well settle rival's centre, most if there is a river to cross in. If there is no option to cross the river like that, the "less worst" way, would be doing it in separate columns, trying to catch 1 or 2 points on the other shore, to support the effort in the centre and flank from enemy ground

Aquitaine is not a good example of "French kicking ass".....and they were only the dominate power in Europe twice in history, once before losing their whole country to England, and again before getting stuffed into their borders by England, Prussia, and Russia.

your troop arrangement is bad first your pikemen should be in front in defensive position and forget crossbowmen get archers at the back of the line so theyll shell those french heavy trops behind pikemen and calvary in front of archers etc.

There is a verse in the loading screen that mentions this: "Three things are required to wage warfare; money, money, and yet more money." And its right too. Ive gone bankrupt so many times from raising these large armies to protect my colonies. Im hard as balls to take down though

@TheEMIN3M1 no the first time you play just turn on the advice settings to get you started it might be annoying at times but the game gives you valuable tips. play on normal when you first start out or even easy if you don't play a lot of strategy games.

@MAFIOSU5 Surely.. I'm occasionally magnimanious with my enemies if its a distant faction or only a few peasents are left.. If I'm in a serious war, those prisoners are getting excecuted for sure, even if coffers are low - otherwise its just another army that will hassle you in the next turn! Definetly kill them if they are of the Royal family or great leaders I say! Only when the Pope says "Pack it in" do I regularily ransom them.

Okay, lets get this straight. France was one of the Strongest and most Noblest of nations, creating the very basis of Chivalry and Honor. Holy Roman Empire was considered the First Reich, by Hitler, but embraced the rule of Catholicism, and believing themselves the descendants of the Roman Empire from the Dark Ages. Both sides had strong cavalry, knightly orders (France with the Templars, HRE with Teutonic Knights Holy Order) and both were strongly included in the Holy Wars Crusades to Jerusalem

I understand the HRE tried to convey a feeling that they were after the Roman Empire because it was so mighty, but it is funny to think Germany was never conquered by Rome first of all, and that the HRE actually started in France, until France broke away into it's own country after Charlemagns death, and Germany took the title.

He was the first to be crowned emperor by the pope, after him there were a few Carolingian emperor's in every partition of the former kingdom until finally Otto I. bound the title to the German kingdom (East Frankish).

Dude,this is one of the easiest way to destroy the enemy army at this certain map. I admit I've done it too,but what is the point in just standing there and shooting arrows at the french killing 1/3 of army before it reaches you instead of charging them? There are many good strategies, but this is the most pathetic way the play when your forces have the same strength as the other army when fighting at a river

You're not playing very well.

First, put your crossbowmen in skirmisher mode so they don't get slaughter by the enemy dismounted knights. Then put a defensive troop behind them to pin down the attacking enemy and charge the planks with heavy cavalry (or infantry).

Don't charge the enemy across the river. Utilize the narrow passage and let them come to you.

Other than that, nice vid. :-)
