Thanks for posting this. I've seen them twice as a young child in the mid 60's and them with Dick Kniss on bass were incredible live. Just riveting and for such a simple time and gear really filled the auditorium with sound. Thanks to them and RIP Mary your voice is missed long after your pain was ended.
There was no blood at Valley Forge! Valley Forge was not a battlefield! People often make that mistake but Valley Forge was a place for George and his men to camp, etc. There were no battles fought at Valley Forge.
PP& M were fantastic musicians and spirits of their time...there are others out there still but the movement isn't like it was, so powerful so sweet ...that was the Renaissance of music for us, art had its day hundreds of years before that, but America awoke to music in the 20's and grew every aspect of music up until the spirit was abandoned for money. I will always cherish PP&M like they were a Renoir, the finest work of their time and beyond. Thanks PP&M for the times ...
There will be no revival. Record companies and public popularity will not permit it. Nor do consumers demand it. I wish like many for a music revival of HARMONY. Harmony like Peter, Paul, and Mary, or Simon and Garfunkel. Music today is not as bad as we think. You just really..... Really have to look, but it's there.
Peter, Paul and Mary bring back childhood memories for me too, Chuck, as well as another time full of idealism and optimism. May similar times come again, and perhaps a revival of their music with it.
So I'm 13 and I just love how they bring out the history of Valley Forge during the struggle of the American Independence...

@wlevings
When you "really look," who or what do you find that you would recommend.
I am totally ignorant and oblivious to what is good in pop music, folk music today.
When I want to listen to music, I invariably listen to something old: PPM, Simon and Garfunkel, the Beatles, the Association, the Who, Donovan, etc.

The 60s and 70s were amazing times.
They were times of optimism as you said, and there was a pervasive love and unity that has not been experienced since in our country.
In the beginning of those times there was much innocence and love: I hope and pray for a revivial as well. ~~~ Chuck
