What always despises me in such threads is such flame between the UCfans and the AE fans, and I usually notice that AE fans are extremely focused on how they perceived their fav. AE series, and as such, claim all UC series to be obsolete and weak.

For one, most series are based on some extend the original mobile suit Gundam. Especially Seed and Seed Destiny follow a very similar plot.

Two, it doesn't harm you to snuff out the origin. If you do it open minded, it can be a very nice addition.

I first started with Wing. When I first watched Zeta I was like WTF during the first few episodes... cause I was still comparing it in Wing terms. However, after finishing it and than watching the original, I realized that you shouldn't try to compare but open your mind en enjoy each series on its own before judging.

While i'm indeed biased to UC (i just love the Amuro-Char story-line), its still possible to enjoy other series. I really liked G-gundam, Wing is amusing on its own.

@Tuning3434 - Actually you can still compare (for fun, learning, and thinking) with the similarities, faults, pros, cons, positive, and negative aspects on why this series is better, worst, or mediocre. And yes, no need to advice anyone "its just your opinion" blah blah. What I'm saying is that try to analyze why this series was even GREAT in the first place and why everyone likes it? If you realize that this series isn't that good anyways (namely wing, since it was boring), then yea

@Tuning3434 - You can still judge, rip off, or bash a series and give out points as to why, so that people would understand it and realize that they agree or disagree. For example, SEED wasn't good but wasn't bad, because of those noticeable recycled animation whenever they fight, or that the series had too much whiney, moaning teens that just wouldn't learn to grow up. Especially that they never developed Shinn's character-wise through HIS OWN SERIES and later they dropped him.

I mean Amuro knows what you're gonna do before you do it, he knows how you feel, he can get inside your head. he destroyed an entire DOM squad in under 3 minutes in the RX-78-2- no Ps armor, no super DRAGOON, no beam shield not even a second beam rifle.

@GizmoCCXR In terms of character though he was more of whiny bitch. Heck he even took off from white base on his own which is something even kira from SEED didn't do. When people talk of Amuro as a man they are talking about his late Zeta and CCA incarnation.

@darksword101 - Oh gee... Amuro is a douchebag... he's whiney... he's an angsty teen blah blah. He was given the time to develope throughout the episodes and becomes a REAL soldier. He was able to pull out 5 timebombs that the enemy planted in his gundam for like less than a minute. Sure Kira wasn't spoiled like Amuro, but he became unlikeable when he achieve "Gary Stue" status and in DESTINY.... that just made it worse. He reeks of "fanfic writing."

@darksword101 - Well before I was one of those "newbie" crowds and have never even heard of OTHER gundam series (except wing and seed), but that's only because the "die hard" fan base were so BIASED, I can't even decide where to start first. Until I watched TheAnimeOverviewer here in youtube. This guy alone knows what he is talking with each different gundam shows and I'm now comfortable to address anyone who has a problem with story, plot, characters, morals, and animation within

@darksword101 - Whenever there is a main character within an anime (or cartoon/movies/shows) who whines, bitches, moans, and cries at first glance, this just means that they need to start at a "lower-point" before they can be likeable towards the middle or end of the series. They need to be developed and feel more like real human beings. I was actually defending Shinn (at first) since he is the main guy, but they pretty much wasted him out and dropped him at the end of HIS series.

Oh well, we have 00, Unicorn, and Age (never judge this series yet) to thank for that. I pray that they would keep the right direction for future gundam series.

Amuro becomes a man around the period Ramba Ral is killed during his man-to-man attack and especially after Ryu kamikaze attack. These events make him realize he needs to fight in order to save his comrads. How would you fare if you're thrown in an armed conflict that already brutally wasted half of the human population,are 'kidnapped' and scolded and Brightslapped by a bossy (inexperienced newbe) captain. He left White Base to proof a (stupid) attempt to proof his manliness.

@darksword101 honestly i don't know who would win in a fight between kira and amuro maybe if kira was going around killing ppl like he used to then it would be more of a challenge 4 amuro but even though amuro's not the most powerful newtype it would be 1 hell of a fight especially in his nu gundam since it brings out his full potential but as far as kira goes there's nothing special really about any of his gundam other than it runs on nuclear power n its dragoons so i can't say 4 sure

@CRAZYGUNDAMOTAKU personally my fav AU gundam pilot is setsuna n after he becomes an innovator he can read minds n his gundam has the 0 raiser which increases its performance trans am n trans am burst can quantize itself even takes its pilot n other pilots 2 another dimension n that's not even his final MS n on top of that after he becomes a ELS/INNOVATOR hybrid i think he becomes somewhat immortal though i can't say 4 sure

Some original gundam series would be like Wing / Seed-Destiny / After War X / 00- s2 00 / and even G Gundam. They can't rip each other off as they are from different timeline + Technology wise.
