@TheLevel37 well...you need to be very balanced and relaxed to ride bareback properly. hold onto the mane (horses can barely feel it) and don't stiffen your body. ride bareback a lot because it is very good for your posture, and will give you a much more relaxed seat. i hope i've helped you!
lol it must be easy to ride bareback on a horse you can link your legs around like her XD nah but good riding lol i about died laughing when i saw the chestnut come up behind you it emphasized how small a pony is X3
I wish I could do that :) I rode my ArabXQuarter horse bareback this morning, she did really great! The extent of my bareback ability right now is the walk and trot :) But i've gotten much better! Cute video, Single is adorable!
First of all, wear a helmet. Second, if you have an english saddle, unhook the leathers and ride that way for a while, if you ride western just try taking you're feet out of the stirrups. Once you are comfortable riding at all speeds like this, hop on bare back. Trotting bareback is the hardest because you will bounce, it is very important that you do not lean forward. Instead, relax your body and sit strait and grip gently with your knees.
it's not hard at all. the first time i rode bareback i was really nervous, but as soon as i started walking it was fun and easy, it's pretty much the same as with saddle, i can't explain really though.if you want someone can maybe hold the horses bridle the first time you trot just so you can focus and riding and not control.
Leuk filmpje ;-)
Yes, I'm sorry Storm508! it was meant for SexyPrincessx, who think's it's her business if it's cruel or not. but cantering bareback is very nice. But you have to make shure that if you're going to do a canter, you totaly contol it;) but if you ride good, than you can try it. It's a nice experience so have fun! xx
how can you say that I have NO CONTOL ABOUT HIM??? why do you think I ride with only a halter??? You're soo stupid xD You don't know me, you don't know Single, so why do you give that stupid comment? I can ride almost as good with saddle as bareback. So don't be a fool and just search for a hobby...
It's not cruel.. As long as your weight can be carried still by the pony they are fine with it. This one probably can take about 75 kg, and she doesn't look as if she ways that. Moreover cantering without a saddle isn't cruel or crazy either.
oh, I'm sorry that I said gallop. I mean canter;). I was a bit confused because in Dutch (my language) we say to canter "galop" and to gallop "rengalop", the transolation of that exectly is "rungallop" so I hope you understand. But then, I can do without a saddle in gallop (yes gallop, not a canter) and than I can't have a light seat, so it's not always with a saddle. Greatssz
a gallop is not defined by the rider's position. "gallop" is a term to describe the movement of the horse's feet. but u r right, it is only a canter. in a gallop, all 4 hooves leave the ground.
I know, I expained all that to 10soundhorse10, when she sent me a PM about it. Although, you can have a light seat in canter aswell. But this is definately not gallop!
haha stoppen!

It's not that differcult;)
if you control the canter and trot with a saddle, than you almost also can control the canter and trot without one.
I can't really tell you what you have to do, you just have to try it!
believe me, it's not very differcult;)

nice ride. he looks a bit small for u though, with your long legs. but, then again, few big horses have a pony's spunk!

Lovely pony, but that isn't gallop. if you were galloping, then you would be leaning forward.
