He outacted Gary here the same way Gary outacted Anthony in Dracula! :P If he was as sexy in the book as he is in the movies I can understand why Clarise ran off w/ him & became his mistress! rah!

I was replying to GoCompareDotCom's comment, he was asking why the pigs didn't go for Hannibal when he was standing there and I replied that they didn't attack him because they couldn't sense any fear from him, and fear is apparently what triggers them to attack. That's how the scene is described in the book anyway.

They're omnivorous but had likely been starved by this point. They were also shown earlier being fed with with sounds of helpless screams played over a speaker, so will associate that with feeding, hence the reaction when the sound is played.

Pigs aren't hunters so would be futile in overpowering a full-strength human, even in groups, but a badly injured (screaming) man tied to a corpse, or a helpless guy like verger would be an easy meal :)

well actualy in mediaval times there were ocasions then hungry pigs would eat a child or adult, so as long as one has no there to run away from them they will eat and kill him. (pigs are faster than humans are)

No, Hannibal may have eaten the pigs himself if attacked by them (this is Mr. Lechter after all) or most likely he would've just charmed them into leaving him alone. I know it sounds far-fetched, but I could see that happening. I don't see him wasting his time killing anything as dumb as a pig (unless it was purely out of self defense), he'd go after the trainers.
