dont ever buy one of these they suck, and buy the way the specs are, amd 64 x2 athlon dual core, 1.8ghz, and the maz RAM is 2 gb, and u will have a million problems with this, from the screen, video card, hard drives, what ever u can think of it will break

my inverter went, repaired it myself, but now have loose hinges, which I have read is a common problem with Dells. I have owned my vostro 1000 for 2 years. Only other issue I have had is the AC adapter isnt recognized at times, another common issue, but besides that not a bad purchase. Batt life is a complete joke though, so keep this one at home on a desk..

1. The screen is NOT offical HD screen. If it was an HD screen it wouldnt have the wimpy processer. it would havea dual core
