I think nintendo took in all the 'these series are too repetitive' complaints, then half of ninty through them out the window and made SMG2. and half said 'hmmm... how can we make metroid new and interesting?' and teamed up with team ninja. Shigsy is on his own in a basement making zelda wii and being angry that by the time that it is done the new more powerful Wii will probably be out

People act like it's a bad thing that we're going to learn more about Samus, which is understandable. However, they started this in Fusion (though not a whole bunch), yet nobody complained then. I think it'll be great. Remember how everyone thought Metroid Prime would suck? It turned out to be great!

Being too lazy as a game developer to get a fucking voice actor isn't perfection, it's cheap and brings down the games quality. I won't even get into an anime argument here because like I said, the game isn't designed like anime. Also as far as rules, having a fucking mute protagonist isn't a rule, it's just a style, or relaly more like a trend seeing as how it's pretty much going to be extinct soon.

there's nothing wrong with talking, she speaks in metroid fusion and she makes sound when she's hurt in almost all of the other metroid games. metroid prime was the first FPS metroid game and many people thought it would suck because of that, but it didn't and this could be great too.

Well, this is certainly looking interesting.

My only real gripe is that the in-game graphics looks rather cartoony. While not a bad thing in itself, it kinda clashes with the gritty feel of the cutscenes, and there's little excuse for that when you look at the Prime trilogy.

But that aside, this looks like it's gonna be fun to play, and interesting to see a more story-based aproach.

it should be. I hope it all works out well. The color scheme I think is very reminiscent of Super Metroid. Which if we all remember those days,  should make this a real treat.

I agree, in-game graphics are a little bit cartoony, I do hope they implement nitty-grittyness. Which I would feel works well for SD graphics. HD is nice but I remember playing Doom 3 on a lower resolution and IMO it looked and felt scarier before I upgraded my pc to allow higher resolution.

It looks like like Mother Brain is just a flashback, though. The scene is a replica of Mother Brain killing the Baby Metroid if you look carefully enough.

Seeing the first 45 seconds of this, I NEVER would have guessed this was the new Metroid! Awesome graphics, and Mother Brain from Super Metroid is back! But it looks and plays different, perhaps TOO different for hardcore Metroid fans such as myself? I need more footage!

I'm not too sure if Mother Brain is back. I'm guessing that was Samus remembering when she battled her in Super Metroid.

Besides, Adam Malkovich was featured in this trailer, and I'm pretty sure Samus met him AFTER defeating Momma Brain.
