  • Wow look how he uses his cymbals. Awesome.

  • Without a doubt the best PJ drummer. The music business doesn't work based on what is fair or always right....

  • Matt is the best drummer for Soundgarden.

Dave is the best drummer for Pearl Jam.

Comparing them to each other is difficult. Completely different styles.

  • impresionante!

  • New Sun Blues Looking for Drummer if interested please get in touch

  • and by the way this probably is the best live version of porch i've ever heard..i was goin with unplugged but listening to this more and more and its def something else.

  • Motherfucker pulled that off WITH A BROKEN WRIST.

  • Dave wins! FATALITY!

  • woooow such a cool video, never saw him in that angle! he really has the perfect timing and style, love his drumming and he was the best for PJ!! love it!!

does anybody KNOW WHYYYY they split from Dave?????!!!

  • woooow such a cool video, never saw him in that angle! he really has the perfect timing and style, love his drumming and he was the best for PJ!! love it!!

  • Matt cameron didnt like this video.

  • @luiscurtolo i know for sure HE does

  • SORRY MATT, BUT HE'S THE BEST PJ DRUMMER !!!!

  • Dave is one of the grooviest drummers rock scene has ever scene, if not THE grooviest drummer...

  • that is not drugs,,, that is practice.

  • MATT CAMERON, GO TO SLEEP PLEASE AFTER THAT !

  • indescribable. dave's work, along with lars ulrich drumming were my inspiration to learn to play drums.

  • hey dave, you should do a little tutorial video of you on drums, like explaining your setup or just having a little mess around on a kit, im sure all the dave fans here would comply, it would be freakin' sweet!

p.s. you are awesome, i always watch these overhead views of you for some inspration

  • Dave Grohl fan boys can suck my dick!

  • You made me want to learn how to play drums. THANK YOU for changing my life!

  • best drummer

  • unstoppable

  • Can't ...look ....away.... You just have to appreciate the way you played for Pearl Jam I love your cymbal work. The little nuances are what made you stand out. Can't knock Cameron at all, but I think your style is what put PJ on the map. Seeing you live, there certainly with the band, there was a great deal of energy you brought to each and every song. A big thank you!

  • Amazing.

  • Dave, you are a true inspirational human being! All the love to you from Turkey...

  • I pretty much learned how to play drums from watching/listening to you. This is amazing, and you should should release some sort of 'Dave cam' dvd.

  • Sick - Pearl Jam sucked after you left.

  • Dave, you rocked PJ so hard. Good schtuff.

  • I have always loved your style of playing while you were in Pearl Jam. I am glad to see you are still playing!!! When I played I would try to imitate your style.

    Dave YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • CAMERON WHO???

  • Sloppy.

  • @MrJeronimofo Your a fuckhead, how is it sloppy?

  • @MrJeronimofo Chill out ya knob.

  • OMG! I finally gave in & registered a YouTube account just to say TY for sharing these awesome videos with the world! I had given up looking for any footage of you Dave, thinking it was all lost to the analog era... I've always admired you for the amount of energy that you gave Pearl Jam's music (that was noticably missing after you left). Your interpretation of Dave Krusen's playing on Ten was spot on & your creativity on Vs & Vitalogy further proved your skills as a proffessional musician.

  • THIS IS FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKEEEEE!!!! watch the live video..he doesnt have a white wrist band on his arm!!!!!

  • @methanoic80 smartass... there are no video from this show from another angle. he had a bad wrist that day is in his coments above.

  • @luiscurtolo Haha thanks man!

  • where did u get this??? do u have Alive?

  • Comment removed

  • Thank you so much Dave!

  • best pearl jam drummer fucking everrrrrrrrr!!!!!! he got the feeling and soul in the band!

  • Thanks for sharing this, Dave. Saw you guys live in Omaha in '92 at the Ranch Bowl and then again a couple months later at Lollapalooza in Wisconsin. I've seen PJ live, post-Abbruzzese a couple more times since, but have to say that PJ was better with you in it. Still love PJ with Irons & Cameron, but I favored you most of all. Glad to hear you're still around. Would love to see you get together with PJ for some spot dates for old times sakes in the future. Would be fun to see again. Take care.

  • My favorite drummer of all... Thanks Dave for giving me the inspiration to play! When I bought my first DW kit, I was so happy because you were the first person I ever saw play them and I'll always associate them with you. Again, THANK YOU!

  • Incredible, Dave! I saw you with PJ in Nov. '92(?) in Indio at the polo fields (the night they threw all the muddy shoes up on stage). Changed the way I looked at rock drumming! Also on the card was Eleven with Irons on drums, so amazing.

    Thanks for putting this up.

  • I'm impressed, but I disagree about im being better for pearl jam. Pearl jam has The Who, Ramones, and other roots that fit Camerons style better. He was better for these songs, yeah, cuz they wrote them with him! I honestly think pearl jams new stuff is just classier, and Dave would make a mess of them. Course I got in to Pearl Jam from no code on hence me being partial.

  • @grcontrol07 youre wrong.. playing hard like this is his trade mark, ok. but did u ever hear immortality, black, wash or any songs dave did or covered from ten? theres groove and feeling... search for bootlegs from 1992-94 for black. it shows how he could be less heavy and even more grooving. he would sound great in 2days pj if he backup a bit. but thats is easy they'd just needed to ask. and i dont see camerons link with the who... hes not close to be dirty as moon was... peace.

  • @luiscurtolo and just one think, sorry to bother again, but what many people doesnt know about dave is that he was a jazz player. is inside soul playing is jazz, so playing more smooth is not a problem at all i belive. as far as i read about him, he didnt even played or liked rock music. cheers.

  • @grcontrol07 Just a correction and FYI. Abbruzzese didn't drum on Pearl Jam's debut album. This song, Porch, is from their debut album. Dave Krusen was the drummer for the Ten album but was let go shortly after it's release in 1991. Abbruzzese joined immediately after Krusen departed while Ten was rising up the charts. Therefore what you're seeing in this video is Abbruzzese making this song his own just like he did every other song from Ten, even though they weren't originally recorded with him

  • Can someone please tell me what kind of SPLASH Dave has above his hi-hat?...

  • @AllISawWasBlack i belive a 10' or 8' paiste. i always thought he used sabian splash all along, but if u see a video dave cam or dave cam 2 here in u tube u can see paiste written in the splash, in these early tours... i just cant be sure of the specifics... but i belive 10' paiste

  • @luiscurtolo Maybe a Paiste Signature?...

  • @AllISawWasBlack Ow man for that one i donno no. I wish I could have a chat with him or any drum tech from PJ from that era. Theres a guy i read a coment of him, he acctually reached dave on phone, said he as amazily nice and talkative... i would just ask all aspects of his drum kit on the unplugged. I know i can find on google, but they are not accurate. My dream kit right now is his kit from the unppluged. about that splash, i really donno man... sorry... but its paiste for sure...

  • @AllISawWasBlack i mean, in those videos, maybe in this porch hes not using. I wish i knew the splash he used in unplugged. that drum kit is like a short dave kit = more reachable in price I reallly like his kit, i think u can play many kinds of rock on it. hope i help, and if u have anu infos exactly about the drums i'd appriciate. cheers happy new year

  • freakin' A DAVE! wow!

from the 6 minute mark on i was just laughing it was so fekin awesome!

why do all these comment threads always end up being a bashing party?

RE: Eddie: whether or not he DID wanted to be a star, he is, at least to us...and he had a problem with it. you know the old adage, be careful what you wish for?

regardless, this video is awesome, dave was awesome, the other drummers also awesome. Matt. plays a lot differently w SG than he does w/PJ...wonder if that's his decision?

  • one person is a fucker...

  • The reason i play the drums and are as good as i am is because of Dave, if i ever were to make it anywhere in the business it would be because of him.

  • One of the things I dislike about Matt Cameron is how every PJ song nowadays ends up the same tempo. It's like he can't help but speed up all the time. Evenflow is the best example, it's played WAY too fast. Stone and Mike can barely play the lick. Say what you want about Dave, as busy as he was, he was a METRONOME behind kit.

  • as a rugged drummer I am, and not really a huge fan of PJ I was always into this music and all the great early 90's bands, Dave Abbruzzese was always an inner inspiration. I kinda feel so empathy with this kind of drumming. pure groove focused and lots of cymbals crushing around in the name of rock!

I'm still looking for some video showing how-to drum WMA. Please let me know if any vids exist.

If you Dave are reading this, I'm here to let you know I fucking love you!

  • just perfect :D and i love it :D

    my idol dave :P

    big hug

  • Dave was fuckin awesome in this band...

  • and saying he needed to feed his family after Vs. sold a million copies in 2 weeks... well... lol

  • @Tube23x The Pearl Jam crew members like sound guys and light guys and roadies were the ones that would be out of the job

  • The Jack and Matt doing intervies doesn't hold water... it was important during the early days that all the band members dial back on promotion and publicity... Jack and Matt came along far after this was needed... I wish Dave was still tthe drummer myself... no doubt he was the most gifted behind the kit... loved his heavy cymbol work... LOVED IT! but again I can't blame the band for firing him... he should've been on the same page with the rest of them... he was ''fame hungry''... sorry

  • @Tube23x Doesnt hold water? well how do you explain Jeff,Stone and Mike all doing Guitar and Bass player magazine covers during that time?

  • @Tube23x dude, you don't think eddie is/was fame hungry...LOL. i think ed couldn't handle being around someone with the talent dave had/has. i'm a big fan of ed and his stage presence but he's probably the most fame wanting one in this band. sorry to burst your god, ed.

  • @offthetop0 ya um... bursting the bubble with eddie as ''fame hungry''.... lol.... refused to do any interviews or video's or any promotion whatsoever for like 5 years until everything really died down.... so ya... lol @ that.... but like I said... no doubt I love Dave as a drummer.... by far my favorite PJ Drummer ever.... but he should have gotten on the same page with the rest of the band... everyone loves to make Dave out ot be a huge victim.... he wasn't

  • @Tube23x well... i belive nobody there was a victim. they didnt like dave ok. they = jeff +eddie. and ed gets the last word. i belive he is a victim cuz thre was no intention on talking to him, trying to ajust. it happened too fast. ed sent stone(?) i think to fire him... and stone and mike even kinda liked him. i love ed, but his attitude toward dave was too childish. and like people say... for the sake of music, they should have let their personal belifs aside and kept him. cheers.

  • @offthetop0 interviews or no interviews ed wanted to be famous. in fact...he joined a band that had a few bands prior that didn't really make it. stone and jeff but stone primarily wanted to make it big. the thing with ed is that he's shy....that doesn't mean he didin't want to be famous...if he didn't want to be famous he would have backed out the second he felt fame coming on.

  • @offthetop0 ahn and i said nobody was a victim cuz dave should have known better that ed was thelast word and backed up. cuz sometimes i just keep myself on eds shoes: dave is a texan repulican... during that high era of george bush... must been hard to deal with that kinda of guy... but dave is so joyful and all time smiling... just cant imagine a fight.

  • being a huge Pearl Jam fan obsessed since the beginning..... I have to admit Dave was by far the best drummer they've ever had... it's a shame really... but I don't blame them for firing Dave... he was by far the most gifted act to sit at a kit behind them but... it's a shame really... he couldn't get over his fame... he couldn't get with the program and support the ticket master boycott or stop doing every drummer magazine interview he could get his face on... he was behind the times...

  • @Tube23x The argument about Dave and drumming magazines is beyond ridiculous. I have seen Jack Irons on the cover of drumming magazines and in ads for Pearl Drums during his PJ years .Matt Cameron was also in alot of Ayotte,DW and Yamaha ads and on the cover of Modern Drummer numerous times to this day. I think to a musician who has put their life into practice and work of a musical intrument and doesnt mind sharing his words of wisdom in interviews directly to other drummers is a great thing.

  • @Tube23x I also remember reading that Dave A. was against the Ticket Master boycott because that meant that the Pearl Jam crew would be out of employment due to no touring and they had families to feed. Dave had been a great influence on my drumming and its a shame people come on one of his videos and blast him as being fame hungry. Pearl Jam,mainly Eddie Vedder were huge cry babies during that time and put their egos before the music and its shown in some of the later lazy music they put out.

  • Dave, you are absolutely incredible! I and the lads were there for your early shows, and let me tell you, you inspired more than one of us to go and embarrass ourselves behind a kit!

  • DAVE ROCKS out any of the other Drummers PJ has had..... :) I loved reading 5 against 1! Was very cool how you mentioned my home town of Murfreesboro, TN

How Ed wanted to quit the tour... Anyways I was at that show and for me to see you play was like some people seeing Hendrix!

  • Hey Dave!! Maybe you read this!!

So I remember your show in Hamburg 93 (at the end of the show everybody has been naked because the birthday of one bandmember :-)) But I remeber your powerful and precise drumming. Your kind of drumming has been always the best for the song. I don't give a sh** on the guys talking about "overplaying" . I am a drummer for the last 25 years and those guys don't know anything about beeing a musician with heart and soul!!

All the best for you Dave!! Welcome back!!

  • miss Dave

  • this guy is one the best imo

  • pearl jam used to have one of the best singer, a very good 1st and 2nd guitar , amazing bass , and dave in the drums, but ok, they have their own rolls

  • I fucking love this man. What a talent.

  • thank YOU!

  • Listen to how he delivers those fast cymbal punch points. Other than front man Vedder and the PJ sound waking me from my slumber in the 90s, I was also blown away by this dude flailing away in the back. Great combination of old school touch and primal rage, discipline and gut. Definitely on my short list of best drummers, Rich, Gadd, Weckl, Copeland.

  • Dave-Are you surprised PJ is still going after almost 20 years?

  • i dont see any overplaying , all i see is what that song needs to be an all time classic in my book. amazing!!

  • For second I think your body took the form of a unicorn.

  • @OHADI22 ... it was like a combination of fergie and jesus

  • You CAN'T ARGUE WITH PURE PASSION AND RAW ENERGY FTH!!!

  • I lost 100% interest in pearl jam after they let this guy go...

  • Wowsers!! Best drummer PJ ever had. Dave is truely one of my influences for playing the drums.

  • Dave, your drumming added energy to PJ that has never been duplicated! It has never been the same!

  • pffhehehe, bass guitar came visiting :D funny.

Hey btw, you've been the biggest influence on my drumming by far. As I wrote in a comment posted by another user, you've also been the reason for my rather bloated cymbal budget. I've cracked way too many cymbals in my time. And that's your fault :P

The way I see it, zildjian should pay you commission on their sales to me.

The buildup that starts at 5:55 on this video is the most spine-chilling piece of music ever. So freaking amazing.

  • HOLY SHIT !!!!!

  • ΟΟ! Τhat was epic ...the end of this is a pure drums jam with eddie s voice and of course no metal this is pearl jam!

  • one of the best ever propably.and certainly the monst underated ever!

    keep on rocking dave!!!

  • amazing, wordless, the best PJ drummer

  • @aldopj dave rules, but damn if he doesnt get caught up in the excitement, i'd say he's a few bpm's fast here!!!! love him though!

  • Dave abbruzzese is a fuckin pimp!

  • Good Dave Story. My buddy was trying to track Dave down after PJ back around 97 or so. He found the number to the new record company for GRO. Asked if they had any news on Dave.. They said "hold on a sec" and put Dave on the phone. My friend nearly shit himself. Dave was cool as hell. Talked to us for a few minutes and sent us his new GRO album. A real high point of our lives. We're huge fans and were thrilled to get to talk to him. Coolest guy ever!!

  • I have never read this or heard this I don't think, but was Manu Katche one of your influences back then. Your splash and China work remind me of him..

  • Good point there Weallfart, I always felt that may be the case too. I read years ago that he learnt every LedZep song after playing with a bunch of older, more experienced muso's-to get his chops together.

  • Dave said Eddie used to bag on him all the time for having too many cymbals on his kit, saying it looked "Too Metal"...lol! Who gives a shit when your drummer can play like this?!

  • Great video! I saw PJ in 1993 in Ahoy Rotterdam. Awesome show, although the band seemed to have mellowed down quite a bit, except Dave. I really like the aggressiveness and groove. I hope you are doing fine!

  • I watch this video every day. It makes me want to be a drummer. He added so much balls to this song. I would love to find a drummer with an ear like that plus the chops to pull it all off. Wish I learned drums instead of guitar like 90% of other musicians!

  • dave you are awesome!!!!!!!!!!

  • that last 1;20 of that song was so intense...God bless u dave... They (PJ) dont know what they are missing out on.. No passion in music anymore!!!!!!!!!

  • damn dave how did you do all this with a broken wrist lol

  • I am chilling because his performance. I love this work.

    Where´s he?

  • The only thing that can compare to this from 2000's is The Mars Volta. I wish there were more bands like this nowadays.

This is rich, playful and powerful at the same time. I wish I could see that live, be there, breathe the same air in that concert hall, feel that energy, be a part of it, lose myself in it.

  • ..Regardless of that, it was a great deal of fun beating that song up... ...AND that cymbal work was cool! You kidding me? Geez... look at me go! Like a friggin' windup monkey! Rock drumming. Good.

  • @FreeAssRecords i agree - BACK OFF. if you don't like Dave's playing, then shut up. :)

  • @FreeAssRecords Just so you know, Dave has inspired much of my drumming. It's because of him I fell in love with the china cymbal. I beat the shit out of mine and it just has the sexiest sound a cymbal can make, if played right. Thanks for being part of the one of the finest periods of rock music. Wish you were still with Pearl Jam. You had the energy!!

  • Thanks. ...and as for my 'overplaying'... I have many ways I could go with this! Easiest way to say it? Back off! Are you kidding me? That moment of that time with that song ... If my head could've spun around, more often than not, it would've! The way that song was performed, what it meant, what it became live and so on.. If I play for anything, it's the song. My life has been centered by music. Songs have been the purpose of my reasons. Some may get that. Some won't. It is what it is.

  • Thanks everybody! Quite honestly, I am inspired, humbled, entertained and most of all grateful for every single comments that has been posted here. I often consider binging out and responding to various topics... For now, please endulge me by just allowing this:

  • 5:52

  • Awesome! I remember in '92, I was taping something on T.V, fell asleep and accidently taped the P.Jam Unplugged session. Watched it next day, was absolutely mesmerized by Dave's attitude, movements, power and ability. I picked the sticks the next day and have drumming for 12 years. Before every gig, I always envision his playing and use that image as inspiration. Greatest drummer I've ever heard/seen ..

  • MADNESS!

  • F great, thanks a lot for posting, love pj and miss Dave !

  • THE DRRUMMER !!!

  • Best Drummer PJ have ever had! Respect all of them but Dave Abbruzzese was the best! JC from Portugal

  • omggggggggg,

    sooooo much accenting, sickkkkkkk

  • Neil fuckin Peart said he was a fan of Dave A.

  • How about some of you guys see Gonna see my friend in PJ's new album, Matt rips that one up.

  • One of the biggest mistakes they ever made was losing this man. I love PJ but they were total douchebags to Dave. And Matt is a good drummer but he was much better in Sound Garden. I don't really like his contribution to PJ at all. Bring back Dave for the groove. It's sorely missed.

  • @emontgo what happened why did Dave left ?

  • @RafaelPerrusiCHANNEL ed had some personality and politics p.o.v. problems with dave... and dave enjoyed the fame, while pj was all about the opposite... was not about his drumming... was more abut this points of view, attitudes....

  • matt cameron is super awsum in soundgarden but dave is way more awsum in pearljam his style just suites the music way better and matt's style fits soundgarden way better they are both sick drummers but dave is better in pearl jam

  • Its funny that people think hitting loads of cymbals means your better. Yes you can mix some jazz and funk beats, but thats all Dave was. He hardly did anything with the snare or toms. Matt Cameron might not have chinas or splashes, but he differently seemed to mix Jack Irons with Dave Ab, to his own style. I really do think hes a lot better then both of those. At least he isn't over doing it like Dave did.

  • Comment removed

  • sos un pelotudo plokoon11111

  • listen to the song WMA, it's pretty much all toms....

  • their name is "Pearl Jam"..i don't see any jamming in Matt's playing...As opposed to Dave's playing...that's the reason the most fans prefer Dave

  • well that may be true matt is a pretty low key but in terms of the sound pearl jam was going for when they picked him up back in 99 or whatever he seemed to work out pretty well, dave is a great drummer but you have to admire matt's technical skill and the fact that his playing works with the music, dave kicks ass but matt is the one thats drumming with the best band in the world right now =) so get over it you little prick, matt "jams" pretty fuckn solid

  • i agree with you..i just said why the most prefer dave A

  • Most? Don't speak for me, please.

  • i like both dave and matt..i love every record of pj and my favourite songs are about 100 or more..so i m not a narrow mind person who likes only ten etc..but no matter how matt has influenced a lot their music his moves are a little awkward..while dave just flows...

  • its hardcore man,

if i saw someone doing this at a gig, i fucking respect them

  • Matt Cameron is a Pussy Bitch compared to Dave Krusen and Dave Abbruzzese

  • Dave's God!

    End of this topic

    Thanks!

  • Fuck yeah! Love his style!

  • but it is very nice Video, because i always wanted to see, how he was doing this funny hihat/splash games.. and just fallow the hihat, he is using it most of the time with his lef foot,at least that needs a great condition.. Respect, he IS a great drummer, and it is very very pitty, that PJ guys are not rocking together.. The funy thing is, i have never heared PJ playing the song "Porch" live.. Or do you guys know a video, Matt playing Porch? ;) A drummer needs A LOT training to play like Dave.

  • I think, it is a taste thing, me, as Drummer, adore the way how Dave Abbruzzese plays drums, and the songs, everything sounds much more differently, when Dave plays it. Matt Cameron is also a very great drummer, too, and it would be not 100% correct to compare them 1 by 1. Pearl Jam had always problems / curse with drummers. Jack Irons, ( plays in Yield Album) is also a very extraordinary drummer, just listen/watch the famous " Given to Fly" in "Single Video Theorie", it is amazing..

  • Dave Is actually a really good friend of mine! In fact I just had dinner with him and my other buddy stevie salas who is one of the greatest guitarists ever check him out on utube. Dave is a cool guy along with stevie and now they are forming there own band as me fir details if u want to see them I can also ask him anything u guys want.

  • yeh ok

who's in they're new band then?

and why hant he done session work with stevie in ages?

and why does stevie release so many compilations?

also ask him if he listens to PJ's new releases these days and how it feels

to go uncredited in PJ's rearview mirror

    cheers

  • come back dave come backkkkkk!!!!

since he left the band pearl jam lost a lot of energy is simple just listen to 92, 93

and huge different miss dave :(

    peace

  • Eddie, Kurt and the whole "I hate fame" movement was so pretentiuos. I bought into the whole look and sound of the time but the I do not want to be a rockstar was lame. It sucks what happened to Dave and what happened to this whole movement. All the Seattle, "grunge" bands should still be relevant today. Just think we would not have all this s**t music if Nirvana, PJ w/Dave A., AIC w/Layne, and Soundgarden(where Matt Cameron belongs) were still topping the charts.

  • Matt could do this, he is just playing simple. You know matt for some reason never had splashes, or chinas, or loads of crashes. And also Dave hardly did anything with the toms, he just hits these cymbals in patturns in the funk style. It sounds good and crazy but thats just what I think. Matt however plays tom beats and coordinates them in different beats and patterns, he reminds me a bit like John Bonnam a little bit.

  • Agreed. Pearl Jam wouldn't hire Matt Cameron if he wasn't a great drummer.

  • Honestly, in regards to the drumming to this song, I think the original PJ drummer, Dave Krusen, did the best job. I really like the thunderous drum solo during the instrumental part of the song, about the middle, I guess. Anyway, it's awesome. But Dave Abbruzzese was a very creative and great drummer too. Don't get me wrong, this is a good version

  • love this guy

  • Just so much better than Cameron...... Dave had such a big influence on their sound back then, in my opinion, the sound I will always recognise them by.

  • ovalspleen: I agree... a monster.. freaking cool.. awesome upload, thanks!

  • My inspiration

  • DAMNNNN fast motion!

  • One of the best!

  • OMG! Seen you in 1994 in Murfreesboro, TN That was like seeing Hendrix to me... Was freaking great.. I dont know what to say! I love these video's Ive had may thing happen to me in my life Music, Daughters death and this has to rank top 5 of all time thank you so much for inspiring me once again....

  • Holy hell. Dave's in the damn matrix with this.

  • one of my favorite drummers,i love the way his left hand graces over the hi hats, looks so sweet!! nobody knows the real story why he parted with pearl jam

  • PJ was fighting ticketmaster at the time and being their anti-corporate selves and Dave just wanted to b the rockstar and play good music. I remember seeing him in an ad for a drumstick cmpy in Drummer mag. He was gone soon after. coincidence? mebe

  • I dont think it was a coincidence I think he dared to oppose Ed and called him out on his whole I hate fame charade so they said bye bye to him.

  • Cameron is cool...

    Irons is also cool...

But when I see Abbruzesse playing it I don't need to see other playing it...

Matt and Jack and the others are cool but PJ drums is Dave's...

    Salutations from BraSil

  • the best drummer! listen look away green romance orchestra

  • so good...

hey jocorocket... i can honestly say that i appreciate cameron, but prefer mr. abbruzzese. i don't know, maybe it's a matter of personal preference or style?

cameron is definitely smooth, but abbruzzese is a fucking monster!

  • Dave is the BEST!!

    Nothing else to say...

  • I love that grow up in 2:14

  • Yes yes yes yes! Unbelievable! Jag älskar dig!

  • I Love Dave but know one on here appreciates Matt. I have seen and heard PJ millions of times. Matt is a powerhouse live. Check out Imagine in Cornice or Live in New York City. Clearly people who say they're "uninspired" are missing something,

  • cameron couldnt do half this, and half and with half the energy

  • yeah, Cameron could easily play this and a whole lot more. Sure, I agree that Abbruzzese was a much better fit for Pearl Jam, but Cameron could play pretty much anything he wanted to.

  • Then he should really want to play Soundgarden tunes, only. Songs he shine.

  • Well, in case you haven't noticed, Soundgarden aren't exactly a band anymore, so he went on to a band that is still around that he DOES want to be in. Besides, if he's a good enough drummer for Pearl Jam, he damn sure is a good enough drummer for everyone else.

  • Comment removed

  • Matt may be technically proficient but with him, PJ does not sound and feel as original and powerful as it did when Dave was on board. Some replacements work, some does not, and it is not about being good. It is about being right fit. This is how I feel.

We can argue forever, because this is a matter of taste, not fact.

  • I totally respect your opinion on the matter. Do not get that mixed up with us having different viewpoints. As a drummer myself, I was more than glad to see my other favorite drummer join the Pearl Jam club, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden being 2 of my favorite bands, and Abbruzzese being one of my favorite drummers. Personally I think his style fits, but of course it does add a different sound. But I think it's a good thing when bands like that evolve, but that's just me.

  • that´s the best PJ´s drummer.

  • AWSOME,dave you are the best!!!!
