@coolgirl22xxx They didn't slag NME off directly; instead Gerard had his wee speech prepped and what he did was explicitly thanked the fans and said "Don't ever let the media tell you what your body is supposed to look like. You're beautiful the way you are. Stay beautiful." This (particularly after they'd VERY POINTEDLY performed in masks) was clearly a response to NME's recent article which focused on their looks past & present & called Ray fat. MCR were very classy in how they responded.
