why? Man don't get me wrong, it's great to see them playing all these awesome covers, they seem to be talented music players, so c'mon, they can create something of their own, but instead of that they only play metallica stuff... and they play it awesome, but there's a limit between doing a tribute and starting to live from others work. I mean, there would be nothing bad if they play their own playlist & for the encore play some metallica songs, that would be a real tribute...
Well, then u r worng one more time, cuz if they are paid for a concert, then they gotta pay for the covers played during that concert, copyright stuff, u know? At least that's what the law states: "No performer in a public venue can present someone else's copyrighted music without their permission and without compensating them"
A number of agencies, chief among them Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) & American Society of Composers, Authors & Publishers (ASCAP), charge music venues an annual copyright "license fee" ranging from $300 to $10,000 for the privilege of presenting someone else's music
The owner of the place where these guys play is the one supossed to pay an anual fee for the copyrighted music played there, & he is paid by bands that play the copyrighted music in his place, in order to pay this license fee
dude your fucking stupid, thats if you inteand on remixing the cover or intend to publish the covers on an album. dude so many people play other peoples covers its countless, why on earth would you think they have to pay, i've never paid any venue's when my band plays metallica covers.. and no one does

No, i mean for live performances too, who is talking about any fuckin records now? thats a dif fee, r u retarded or fuckin what? Do you mean you and your IMAGINARY band? Oh ok, you don't gotta pay a shit cuz u & ur band r too cool. I repat, if you play someone else's music, and u r being paid for playing tht night, the u gotta pay for the © music, it's not 2 much, like $800/year, the one who gotta pay is the owner of the place, but from the money that cover bands earns playing that © music
