I was level 40-ish when I hit that Blighttown bonfire.
You spend way too few souls on leveling up.
A rule of thumb is, that unless you have something very specific in mind that you're saving up for, spend ALL your souls for leveling up as soon as you get to a bonfire.
Doing this, you'll have stacked up a hefty amount of stats after a while.
Stats are good.
Really good.
They're the difference between fighting a tough enemy for 5 minutes and simply killing him in 2 power attacks.
if any one played Dark Souls and read a lot of book's could someone please suggest me a good book that has the same effect (of hopelessness and cruel fantasy world ) and heavy atmosphere like this game.

If it's the combat you're having problems with, I have no idea. It is a hard fucking game. Maybe it's just normal to die a lot.
I think people need to relax for a bit here. I'm sure he's going to finish the series. People want it. But he's got other series and people demanding other things. I hate it when people become unreasonable to LPers like this as if we're paying him to do this but what can I expect it's youtube! There's just so much gaming you can do everyday. @BigReefi honestly i think the only reason you should do commentary is if you have real insight into the game that will help the person watching. If you havn`t played the game before then comments made during the commentary might seem random and forced.
I have to agree that it doesn't seem like you know how to run a channel like this. You took on way too many games and are half-assing pretty much all of them. It's a shame to see. You should set a limit on how many games you can take on at once and try to get some schedules releases that always happen at a certain date & time. All your videos are different in length and seems really rushed. Organize a bit!

Ya know what's a bit funny to me, we watch him play with no breaks between videos (starting EXACTLY where he left off in the other videos) but I only remember seeing him leveling up like 3 times and now he levels up here and is at level 23, lol wth is this? hey if you do start playing this again, remember that you do have to beat queelag to get on with the game. also put on the crimson set, it's way better than the set you have now and alot lighter (faster movement). and the pathway up the ladder leads to valley of drakes which will get you back up top :) gl, and your awesome keep going!
Why do you all say he is not uploading videos? I'll admit it's a bit disappointing that there hasn't been any Dark Souls for nearly a month, but he has post 3 skyrim videos in the past 3 days. Also he said before Thanksgiving that he was taking a one-week break.

shes really not that hard if you use maneater mildred as a meatshield and have a good weapon i was sl 45 and had a black knight sword +4 yeah thats an over powered weapon for this point in the game makes the drake sword look like poop the uchigatana just doesnt cut it. i tore her apart in like 1 minute. You really need to beat her to continue the game.

Ya know what's a bit funny to me, we watch him play with no breaks between videos (starting EXACTLY where he left off in the other videos) but I only remember seeing him leveling up like 3 times and now he levels up here and is at level 23, lol wth is this? Also, these are entertaining videos. Keeps me watching.

As others have said...you have to go through Queelag to ring the second bell. Then you can go through that closed gate.
The path up the elevator leads to both another firekeeper soul, and the cave you started walking into in the Valley of the Drakes.
for what it's worth... I hated blighttown almost as much as the Valley of Defilement in Demon's Souls...and I really hated that valley.

hey if you do start playing this again, remember that you do have to beat queelag to get on with the game. also put on the crimson set, it's way better than the set you have now and alot lighter (faster movement). and the pathway up the ladder leads to valley of drakes which will get you back up top :) gl, and your awesome keep going!

Through the valley of drakes you can get back to new londo ruins

I considered unsubbing earlier but then I saw you were starting Halo CE and I figured I would stick around for that. But guess what? YOU NEVER PLAY THAT EITHER. I completely agree. And for the people who say "he has a life, stop bashing." If he has a life he should only do a couple of games at once. He just starts walkthroughs, uploads a couple of videos and then starts new walkthroughs. By the time he finishes the Dark Souls walkthrough (if he does), it's spiritual successor would have already come out.

I saw this video a couple of weeks ago and then ghost stop posting the dark souls walks honestly that made me think "well I guess that this game is to hard for him" I dont blame him for stoping the videos the game gets harder each new area you find BUT maybe he is just frustrated cuz the game got to him and he is just waiting to find the will in his soul to grow some balls to face the dam game again BUT the question is when this is going to happen ?????

I just wanted to say that as a Let's Player, you've got potential. But the lack of focus, poor time management, and tendency to bribe your viewers to bolster your popularity and stats ruins it. I fail to see why I or anyone else should subscribe or like your videos when you fail to deliver time and time again.
That said, I hold nothing personally against you or your style of playing. But I'm through waiting.

Lol I've already completed the game and I was with this until like 2 weeks ago and stopped watching it till now and he still hasn't added any vids yet. shes really not that hard if you use maneater mildred as a meatshield and have a good weapon i was sl 45 and had a black knight sword +4 yeah thats an over powered weapon for this point in the game makes the drake sword look like poop the uchigatana just doesnt cut it. i tore her apart in like 1 minute. You really need to beat her to continue the game.
