I heard that Van Dame was a kickboxer in europe before making movies. Sure it's fake in the real life fighting sense, just like a bodybuilder typically isn't as strong as a powerlifter. Just try to enjoy the fantasy.
Van Dame in movies - looks like a joke. I saw a private vid with him fooling around, one can tell the dude used to fight and his timimng was very good, particularly the leg work. He can easily kick some ass, believe me
