i got this on ipad its hard to play but im stuck on the first part where your on his ship and you lose the fizzy root beer and then you have to replace it tell me how to do this!
still debating on getting this...I was too young for the first two, but bought them later and still had a 95 that I didn't care if it got ruined or not so played them. I no longer have that so can't really play it anymore, so I'm looking forward to getting the remakes. This one doesn't look as good as even the 4th one, which was the first one I played, and would probably bore me quickly.

The first Monkey Island should be made into an Animated movie.The story is still as funny,and I felt like I was playing through a Monty Python game.I was too young when the first game was released,so playing the enhanced remake was excellent.
Fav was MI 3. The expressions on the characters faces in this one are lacking. Like you cant really see any irritation on elaines face. More like frozen faces, a problem with 3d animation under-done.

I honestly don't see why people are so sceptic about 3D. I personally always liked Monkey Island for the humor, and from what I've played so far, this game sticks to it's roots. Hell, these 3 minutes showcased here gave me plenty to laugh.

To all those claiming the graphics were "crap": Are we even watching the same game? Sure they aren't HD, ultra-realistic, with snazzy lighting effects, but then, does that really matter. I love the style. Sure, it's not as great as Curse, but it beats 1&2, and escape.
And given the significantly smaller Adventure gaming market, and the high cost of producing games today, they couldn't have gone 2D. Those games are incredibly expensive, if they were to go on a Curse scale.

@lauritzmh I know, but I also really liked the new ones as there is many new funny unique characters, few new phrases for Guybrush, and the funny faces explaining their emotions. The effects werent too realistic, though this game is not meant to be horror =D I really laughed my ass off when I saw Murray =) Also when I saw the mysterious man at pirate crossroads. He's probably the same as in the curse of monkey island, taking ye to Skull island. Still, I'd prefer third one =D
Yeah the new ones is very good! Just nood as good as it would have been with The Curse design(My opinion)! I also think that it is fun to hear som sentences that also was in the other games like in this video at 1:02

@Jonah1337 Monkey Island 1 and 2 was the prime time, number three was just a very good result because the team that worked on it studied very well the first two. In the first two, you play a computer game, in the third you're watching sunday cartoons. They just copied a lot good stuff from the previus ones, like the cementery (with the same music), the sword fighting, etc. Anyway, it depends of how old you are, I think MI2 has the best gameplay ever, also the best story.
I liked ALL monkey island games. I don't care about the graphics. People say that 4 graphics sucks, but hadn't people say that too during pixal art as well? Graphics didn't cross my mind when these games were released. ALL Monkey Island games were good! This include all adventure games as well! Sam and Max, Grim Fandango, Full Throttle, Day of the Tentacles... they were ALL good. I love adventure games.... that's why Taletellgames rocks. :) Bringing the good ole adventure games back to life!

Basically, the only way this (pretty amazing) game was gonna get made was if Telltale did it, on a shoestring. Under the circumstances, it would have been a lot more expensive for them to have brought on 2D animators. Telltale has the toolset and the experience for cartoonish 3D games. The graphics aren't great--they're sort of hacky. The point is the outstanding writing. If you say you don't care about gfx, why does it matter?
Are you kidding me? For the first time in playing the series (and yes, I've been through them all), I really connected to the characters. They have actual EXPRESSIONS on their faces which are not only comic but slightly endearing. Also, Guybrush is kind of cute.
@waynegacy666 agree, i love MI series, and played all 4, but the 3D doesn't really do the game justice like MI 3 where the cartoons where actually half the game. MI3 is still the best of all. Don't get me wrong, i like 3d graphics but this is not a game about realism, it should had 2d sprites and i wish they had learned this from MI4.

Yes, I am :). I'm not complaining about the script or the story, just the graphics. In terms of storyline, this one is more like an MI game than others. I just hate these blocky looking graphics. I'm sure Ron agreed to them too, but for shame on him. The remake of MI1 has way cooler graphics than this game, because they actually invoke the Caribbean. Blocky, deformed Guybrush does not!
I've never played the new one, but this looks gay. I hate the 3d version (escape is it?). The Curse of monkey Island was perfect, then they ruined it.
This is the continuing of one of the best adventure game series ever made. This is episode one's intro. Till now there are 3 episodes and it's getting better each time. I can't wait for the last two episodes.

Sure, I might think that the people complaining about the 3D graphics are a bunch of overzealous purists who should stop judging games purely on the graphics and instead be grateful that the series got a revival at all and that two of the original creators were involved in the project, which is a luxury not many revived series gets.

I just have to say it.. 3D sucks! 2D rules!.. the 2D cartoon style like Curse of Monkey Island fits the story the caracters and the whole essence of Monkey Island muuuch much better, this truly sucks, it just blows I hate it.. they ruined everything :'( x)!

@lauritzmh I know, but I also really liked the new ones as there is many new funny unique characters, few new phrases for Guybrush, and the funny faces explaining their emotions. The effects werent too realistic, though this game is not meant to be horror =D I really laughed my ass off when I saw Murray =) Also when I saw the mysterious man at pirate crossroads. He's probably the same as in the curse of monkey island, taking ye to Skull island. Still, I'd prefer third one =D

Personally if you like the Monkey Island story then you shouldn't care about what it looks like, they were probably just experimenting with new designs... but still every man to his own opinion :)

@Jonah1337 Monkey Island 1 and 2 was the prime time, number three was just a very good result because the team that worked on it studied very well the first two. In the first two, you play a computer game, in the third you're watching sunday cartoons. They just copied a lot good stuff from the previus ones, like the cementery (with the same music), the sword fighting, etc. Anyway, it depends of how old you are, I think MI2 has the best gameplay ever, also the best story.

I liked ALL monkey island games. I don't care about the graphics. People say that 4 graphics sucks, but hadn't people say that too during pixal art as well? Graphics didn't cross my mind when these games were released. ALL Monkey Island games were good! This include all adventure games as well! Sam and Max, Grim Fandango, Full Throttle, Day of the Tentacles... they were ALL good. I love adventure games.... that's why Taletellgames rocks. :) Bringing the good ole adventure games back to life!

Basically, the only way this (pretty amazing) game was gonna get made was if Telltale did it, on a shoestring. Under the circumstances, it would have been a lot more expensive for them to have brought on 2D animators. Telltale has the toolset and the experience for cartoonish 3D games. The graphics aren't great--they're sort of hacky. The point is the outstanding writing. If you say you don't care about gfx, why does it matter?

Are you kidding me? For the first time in playing the series (and yes, I've been through them all), I really connected to the characters. They have actual EXPRESSIONS on their faces which are not only comic but slightly endearing. Also, Guybrush is kind of cute.

@waynegacy666 agree, i love MI series, and played all 4, but the 3D doesn't really do the game justice like MI 3 where the cartoons where actually half the game. MI3 is still the best of all. Don't get me wrong, i like 3d graphics but this is not a game about realism, it should had 2d sprites and i wish they had learned this from MI4.

Yes, I am :). I'm not complaining about the script or the story, just the graphics. In terms of storyline, this one is more like an MI game than others. I just hate these blocky looking graphics. I'm sure Ron agreed to them too, but for shame on him. The remake of MI1 has way cooler graphics than this game, because they actually invoke the Caribbean. Blocky, deformed Guybrush does not!

BTW: The Tales version of Guybrush have a much better haircut than the Special Edition Guybrush.
