  • BTW: This is a GREAT movie! It's a great example of the evil-part-of-the-defense-contractor-controlled NSA and the games the play on the unsuspecting public. That is EXACTLY how they operate. Why "exactly"? Because it is based on REAL EVENTS.

  • This trailer just doesn't convey how chilling this film really is. There's only a handful of flicks that truly creeped me out... this being one of them.

  • @Narutony16 someone is cranky..... I loved this movie. Used to have it in my collection... I can nearly memorize the entire dialogue... I can PM them to you over the course of a year if you like?

  • @MrSandipttt That site is pretty gay

  • this movie will creep me out even if i watch it a hundred times.probably the only movie that manage to genuinely scare me and that's saying something because i don't get scared or freaked out easily

  • my dad showed me this movie when i was like 4-5 years old and it made no sense haha

  • probably not such a good idea to watch this movie at 2:00 in the morning by myself in a lonely room

  • As you can see, there's no mothman in the movie-.-

  • this is actually the only horror movie ever, that has made really frightened (no, not "scared). i don't know why; it doesn't cointain any small asian girls with black hair, cats popping out of drawers nor murderers with huge axes, but there is something with this movie, that totally freaks me out

    watch it

  • This movie was the first movie that "scared" me. The first time I watched it was on cable late at night. The entire movie from the start to the end has a creepy feeling. I kept looking around the room and the hallway when I was watching it. The creepiest part is when he turns over in bed and his dead wife is "there".

I can't put my finger on what it is. But that is what makes a good movie a good movie. I would highly recommend this movie.

  • It is most certainly not based on a true story. All the scary movies that say that are bull, scary or not.

  • CHAP STIIIICCCKKK!!!

  • i watched this movie when it came out and i didnt understand the whole movie, nor do i remmebr actually seeing a mothman (man-owl with wings). but i did remember the bridge collapsing and it was really freaky.

  • OMFG every single fucking comment is a spammer@!#@#@#$@!@!@!!@!

  • ChappStickk

  • Ha! Many thanks! You have to admit some liberties have been taken with the score. All that is needed now are the credits for this arrangement and performance. You can get this movie at filmsi.co.cc if you like.

  • this movie seems interesting and scary, at the same time... I got to check this movie out I think it might be good.

  • How good is it? Scary? Funny? Stupid? Dumb?

  • @PrettyPuppy99 It's pretty damn good. It ranks up there with the best of them. Well worth it. I recommend it strongly!

  • this looks really creepy, im thnking of watching ittomarrow, im 13, should i watch it..

  • @chaser22081 so that means you watched it today or you are going to watch it soon ^^ (or you are watching it now..) xD I guess 13 is young, but it depends on how you react on other horror movies and stuff like that.. I'm going to watch it right now =)

  • I need to watch this movie again. It's like a classic horror film, it uses suspense and psychology rather than random gore and violence.

Hitchcock knew how to do it, clearly the director of this movie did too. Good stuff.

  • nice... Massive Attack!

  • This movie scares my Dad...and that's saying something.

  • I remember watching only part of this as a kid, and i was terrified and had nightmares.... now im going to watch the whole thing and see how i deal with it lol.

  • Move has a good script, but they left soooo much out from the Mothman Prophecies book, which is written more like a journal/investigation of John Keel and not so much a story. Listening to the audiobook now and even though I've read the book twice... I'm still totally creeped out by this book.

  • you know this movie is good when the trailer scares you.

  • Linda Scarberry, one of the first people to see Mothman, has passed away. May her soul find peace.

  • this type of shit gives me the heevy jeevies, i just read a couple of wikipedia articles on this stuff, and i get goosebumps in places i didnt even no i could get goosebumps,

  • @abighairywoman I thinks that's called herpes

  • Cane someone tell me, cuz I don't understand a shit about this movie!!!

  • Without a doubt, the creepiest movie.....EVER

The entire time I watch it, I get chills. They dont make scary movies like this any more =-C

  • u know, i wonder,, y weard stories always happen in the United States ?? u got this movie, & The Fourth Kind, The Exorcism Of Emily Rose ( which happen in Europe this one i think) but still u dont hear this kind of weard stories in the east! maybe cuz i simply dont hear about them, or in another words, HOLLYWOOD BULLSHIT, Illuminati bullshit takin control of our minds, freakin us out about other bullshit not focus on believing the true devil thats goin on

ay just sayin! cant deny its good point

  • This movie is pure hollywood.

    It's good.

    But for the TRUE story:

Check out the new documentary, eyesofthemothman . com

  • For fellow Mothman fans, check out the exhaustive new documentary, "Eyes of the Mothman," available at eyesofthemothman

    The truth will be revealed!

  • I actually live in Parkersburg which, if you look at any map of WV, is barely a 45 minute drive from Point Pleasant. That sure makes me sleep well!

  • thats the hilarious part that the writers must have known that it would have been funny for the voice to say "chapstick" cuz i laughed everytime i seen the commercials

  • No matter how many times I watch this, this movie still scares the shit outta me.

  • I watched this last Halloween on tv late at night, thinking it was going to be really stupid. But I have never been so scared by a movie in my life. Even watching this trailer gives me the chills.

  • MASSIVE ATTACK on the soundtrack

  • @jonzombiepro Nope, Massive Attack are not in the film or on the soundtrack,

  • now that's how a trailer and a movie should be like!!!

  • whoa just watched this movie yesterday alone..it gave me goosebumps all the time..freaking awesome..it scared the hell out of me..i loved it..haven't seen such a nice thriller in a long long time and the acting is unbelievable..amazing,love them

  • i saw this when i was 11 , i watched it at night all alone in the house , i was terrified out of my mind ,but still i didnt stop watching . im 13 now and i can say its the scaryiest movie ive ever seen .

  • This movie traumatized me for life..

  • It's easy to make a so-called 'horror' movie. Just put some scary music and make a ghost show up all of a sudden from behind a door.

This, though, takes real talent. It doesn't make me feel scared because of some loud, sudden sound. It makes me feel extremely uneasy throughout the entire movie and that, in my opinion, makes it an excellent film.

  • @LaurenDiGiorgio

This movie makes my skin crawl when I watch it. Very few films have been able to do this.

Every scene in this movie makes you feel like you're in some sort of twilight zone where everything is wrong, but you can't justify anything as wrong.

  • @VenomProject

Exactly. You have described this movie very, very well.

  • @LaurenDiGiorgio I disagree. Cheap thrills is crap in a movie i think. Like when something jumps out. It requires no talent or storyline and its just an attempt to get a rise out of people. I prefer a plot and something scary to anticipate not boo i scared you type thing. But each to their own

  • @JoanBeatrington001 Clearly you misunderstood what I meant. Please read my comment again and you will see you are saying exactly the same thing I said ;)

  • @LaurenDiGiorgio sorry gorgeous :) misunderstood you indeed

  • @LaurenDiGiorgio i just wachted it, with my brother in the middle of the night.

it isn't a random horror movie, wich some bad actors and a randon ghost.

no this is one of the best movies i ever saw......

tha acting was great, and the storie line was amazing!

i totally agree with you, that trough the movie i felt uneasy, i thought the whole time that some shitty crap thing would pop up, but it didn't...

and the slowly psycko thing in the movie......it is really good!

  • For beautifully filmed scenes & exquisite sets, & costuming, what a journey away from the daily political grime! I didn't want it to end; the reality based explanation changed none of the charm and magic... You can find it at kookíca now and enjoy it.

  • So disappointing. The plot/concept was shit. I don't know what I expected, but it was bad.

  • Personally couldnt get through it. Tried soooo many times. Bleh

  • I thought this was Movie had a great storyline and acting but fell flat in regards to suspense.

  • I've been waiting to see it since I first saw the trailer.. thank GOD for kookíca whu has all the best movies long before they come to cinemas

  • kinda creepy. but i was hoping to see the mothman

  • Really enjoyed this movie, and even more so because most of it is based on fact.

Utterly jaw dropping in parts, and rather unerving to say the least.

  • this movie isnt all that great

  • I gave to this 5 of 5 stars because this movie hits you with its perfection. Great movie. My thumbs are up ffor this producers, this director, and the most, for those characters. Great job, truly is. During the past few years there have been a lots of great movies I have see, but this is absolutely the best. Now you decide to watch it or not. You have it on kookíca!!

  • I used to watch this movie all the time. When it first came out, though, I was TERRIFIED of it. Now I love it!

  • I thought the movie was very well made. I agree that the standouts are the dialogue and performances. However, I have to agree that it has been far too hyped. But all in all good movie to see on kòòkica. Enjoy!

  • Freakin amazing!! I loved almost every single second of this!! It is on kòòkica... Director is going to be considered as one of the best directors of all-time now, and I will stand by and say, yes, I have to also agree.

  • I don't even know where to start, this movie was so well made from so many different angles. Usually, going to the kòòkica is such a passive process—you sit back and are mildly entertained—but this movie is so NOT like that, it is really great!!!

  • Neer seen it before though i want to mothman is my favorite cryptid

  • Richard Gere is beautiful. ♥

  • lol WE were just making sure there was adequate closet space.

  • complete bogus compared to what actually happened.

  • This movie will mess with your head. It's great.

  • I wish they still made horror movies like this. It was amazing to watch :D

  • Utterly astonishing movie, and even more so due to the fact that it's based on true events in Ohio.

It blew my scone apart to think such things could happen in this world, and it was cated to perfection.

Terrifying, moving and had my mind ticking over at ten to the dozen.

  • i watched this as a kid a long time ago, scary as fuck

  • This Is A True Story Right,,,

  • @mvpmalik11 No it's not, Mr. Keel who recently passed away made up over half of the stuff because the book didn't coincide with the investigational findings... I'm sure some of it is true but when money and hollywood show their face people tend to get creative.... :-)

  • I can't believe that professional have made this shit??

  • @PirateOfLoserville

Indeed, nothing happens in this bad movie. In France we call these films "navets".

  • @RocketJones38 This movie is mainly based on obsivations and what the paper wrote what happend in west virginia 66-67. To be honest every occurrence of event is really thin on ice, any futher explanation, rewrites unnecessary becouse there are really nothing to write about and would work perfectly without any adaption at all. It is surprising they got out as much they got out of making fiction out of fiction

  • Now THIS is how 'horror' movies should be done. I was terrified out of my mind throughout. It's more psychological than anything but it was played beautifully.

  • Anyone know where you can get the audio file for the music in the background? it's some edited version of Massive Attack's "Angel"

  • this movie was so freaky

like when the main guy went to that guys house and the guy said hes been coming to his house for a long time a lot even though that wasnt true and hes only been there that one time fuck that WTF if someone i didnt know or never seen told me I ive been coming around them every night harassing them even though i wasnt I would put my ass in a mental institution cause thats freaky

  • i heard that the men in black have been involved with the mothman so i think the government is hiding something.....

  • the movie just makes sure the myth lives on

  • @primus202 what myth? the mothman have been spotted several times and its described in a similar way every time besides the men in black have been involved too and then theres something weird going on

  • This makes me cry, because it's so scary.

I've been to Point Pleasent, and I can't imagne seeing something or experiancing something like that. I mean the part about the mans wife was made up I believe, but the rest is true.. saw the statue, and went to TNT. god creepy.

I think it was from the future, or some kind of demon.

It's been saw in pictures in Galveston before the hurricane and before 9/11.

.. weird stuff happen in this world. 0.0

God some weird things happen in this world...

  • @666ouroboro Sadly, 99% of the movie is not real. I hate that about "based on a true story" films. It's like salsa con queso being "made with real cheese", but it's like .000001%

But the movie is great. Just not in any way real.

  • Except for Laura Linney, I would give this a 4/5. She was totally miscast.

Gere, Patton and Bates were excellent.

I would also have liked a tie-in to Cornstalk, but maybe that would be too much.

  • Chaaap Stick

  • @LeFreakSoChic omg lol

  • @LeFreakSoChic Eep.

  • nothing happens in this movie
