I've been watching this video like a hundred times and I concluded that the whispering came from John McCain which is located by Mitt Romney. Watch the video and analyze it yourself and you'll hear McCain's voice whispering to Romney. there's no way that the whispering came from the crowd nor from the back of the stage.

They way I interpret is, that someone is giving Romney assistance, so as soon as the question comes out, Romney got educated on what Regan did do and that is raise taxes. That is why I believe Romney said that response real quick as if to know what he was talking about. Just my interpretation for what its worth.

Tim Russert clearly forgot part of his question and one of the MSNBC-Crew had to whisper it in to his ear.

I was wondering the same thing. A lot of people think Mitt was wired. I don't know. I've done a lot of things with video recording, and sometimes you pick up things that you don't mean to. It could have been someone on the stage, someone near the moderator. There are tons of microphones all over the place, and if one isn't turned off, it will pick up something you didn't mean to get. We can't really know what it was unless Mitt or NBC tells us what happened.
