  • lmao!

  • RON PAUL ALL DAY.

  • i caught the same thing on my dvr.

this was a narrarated speech... i want REAL leaders, not some goon that says what is writen down. mitt romney is crap! VOTE RON PAUL!!!

  • Wow, now can we see the hand up his ass? Romney is little more than a talking head, a puppet whose only qualifications to be president are his abilities to read from a teleprompter, memorize buzzwords, and say whatever he's fed. The man is vacuous. But hey, he'll be president or go bankrupt trying. Are we really going to elect this anchorman president?

"It is unclear who it is that says it, but it was not said by any of the candidates, was not heard in the hall and, more importantly, not heard by the candidates."

  • Listen carefully to the whisper, it says "raised taxes, I'm not gonna"

  • Holy sh*t, it does say that. I just heard "he raised taxes" live on t.v. but "I'm not gonna". Anyways, RON PAUL.

  • At :24 and :27 you can hear someone sniffing. I probably was the audience.

  • it was so McCain, it sounds like him

  • I've been watching this video like a hundred times and I concluded that the whispering came from John McCain which is located by Mitt Romney. Watch the video and analyze it yourself and you'll hear McCain's voice whispering to Romney. there's no way that the whispering came from the crowd nor from the back of the stage.

  • Breaking news the person whispering in Mitts ear was none other than Frank Lunts!!!

  • Get the facts before you bashing other people to suit your own agenda!

"We had some audio issues and Gov. Romney's mike wasn't working momentarily. Simple as that," MSNBC VP for Communications Jeremy Gaines said in a one-line e-mail response to questions about overheard whisper.

  • It was from the panel...good try.

    no mike. geez.

  • Sources at MSNBC have denied that the comment came from the moderators' table, claiming that, according to a sound analysis (which Giuliani's people requested immediately following the debate), the "raised taxes" voice was on the same channel as Romney's microphone. Attention is now being turned to the Secret Service, which regularly performs EM-wave sweeps of any area that they are protecting (an important function, seeing that they also depend on the ability to communicate with earpieces).

  • that is a load of BS. Show me an article or news reference that proves any of this.

    You are a joker!

  • They way I interpret is, that someone is giving Romney assistance, so as soon as the question comes out, Romney got educated on what Regan did do and that is raise taxes. That is why I believe Romney said that response real quick as if to know what he was talking about. Just my interpretation for what its worth.

  • luzzimike, I'm with you.

This sounded like an audio clue to Romney.

    It was not Russert.

  • @luzzimike Where did the whisper come from then? Did he have an earbud? If so, how did the mic pick up the sound so loudly? If the sound in his earbud was that loud, why didn't McCain call him out on it?

Do you think someone in the audience whispered it? Then, there would have been some sort of reaction from the crowd?

Did the cameraman whisper it? If so, how could Romney have heard it?

ANSWER: THIS VIDEO WAS EDITED. If you disagree, explain the logistics.

  • You mean they didn't immediately cop to a fixed debate? I guess couldn't be so. Thanks for getting to the bottom of this.

  • Tim Russert clearly forgot part of his question and one of the MSNBC-Crew had to whisper it in to his ear.

  • See the pen in his hand? Russert has notes in front of him. Why would he need audio-prompting? Also, the second half of his question is more detailed than "raised taxes" so where did he get all that?

  • raise car tax..road taxes..not texas.

  • It was Tim Russert People

  • no, the whisper says "he raised taxes"

The intent of the whisper is conjecture, but there are two camps, he was being fed the answer to what Reagan did, or the Mod was being fed what he left out of the question... Pick your side.

  • The weird voice wasn't coming from Romney's mike, it was coming from the moderator's panel.

  • I heard it too! My girlfriend thinks it's bogus, idealism is cute, but we Americans just got a rare glimpse at the reality behind politics.

  • Heard what? :-p

  • Russert: It's become clear over the past few weeks, the Clintons will be running as a team. How do you plan to run against them?

Romney implies that a bored Bill will turn the White House into a bordello.

  • I was wondering the same thing. A lot of people think Mitt was wired. I don't know. I've done a lot of things with video recording, and sometimes you pick up things that you don't mean to. It could have been someone on the stage, someone near the moderator. There are tons of microphones all over the place, and if one isn't turned off, it will pick up something you didn't mean to get. We can't really know what it was unless Mitt or NBC tells us what happened.

  • why would Mitt have a prompter telling him to "raise taxes" ?

I think it was the other moderator reminding him to bring up the part about raising taxes.

  • I think you're right. :)

  • ;-)

  • He said DON'T raise taxes.

  • The voice is the other moderator whispering to Tim Russert to state what it was that Ronald Reagan did so the audience understands what the question is about.

  • That's most likely the real answer mpetrie. But if you follow the question, Russert is trying to stress that you can't pull money out of thin air. It HAS to come from somewhere or someone. National Lottery would fix Social Security btw.

  • That was George Bush on the other end making the taxes comment. Couldnt you tell?

  • weird. this clip is hard to find

  • Not really....

  • This is how he will take orders when deciding to "push the button"

    "push it"
