  • The crowd is catatonic because Vinnie beat up Chuck Norris on stage just before the start the song.

  • Beck blows me away. Amazing technique, especially the right hand. The sounds he extracts from that Strat are otherworldly. I remember the original lineup on this song, including Jan Hammer on keys. Classic fusion.

  • super jeff

    hero

    power to the power

  • see u today in bratislava jeff!!! and happy birthday!!!

  • Oh man, Jeff Beck's band is kick ass!! The drummer's godly, the bassist is groovy, the guy on keys is pretty awesome, and jeff is.......well, Jeff. One of my favorite instrumentals of all time.

  • Lately I have been returning to Utube so I can WATCH JB create his notes with techniques and his own motion .....etc. etc...... (always amazes me to hear the tones but not see his finger / string movement most mortals use to get similar sounds !) BUT freakin Vinnie is pounding some skins as great as EVER ! He & Jeff showed these young pups how it's SUPPOSED TO BE DONE ! Vinnie breaks Jeff up in "Ronnie Scotts" DVD, he PUSHES HIS SPECS UP w/finger as he opens Big-Block, find it-it's badas s

  • Came to kick ass and chew bubble gum... All out of bubble gum!

  • And Eric Johnson too.All Great!

  • @kamenowo OK

  • @RisingSon011 quit being a cunt

  • Many thanks Mr Beck, for you wonderfull music.MLHC.

  • YEP,They did copy Jeff Beck,no doubt about it,,Jeff is a moody guitar player,I jamed with him ,He had a friend in Detriot, the guy's dad worked at Fords and so did Jeff Becks dad,( IN ENGLAND)so when Jeff' came into town ,he would stay with there family most of the time,Jeff beck would hang around Detriot,on and off,he said it was the the best crowd he ever played to,,I knew that, everyone knows that

  • now thats an artist who doesnt have to say a word and still leaves the crowd in awe

  • tomorrow bogota

  • I love how the crowd is barely even moving. They're just stunned because they can't even register just how amazing JB really is

  • @Skyflier111 YOU GOT THAT RIGHT!!!!

  • Picks are awesome

  • why is there a big space enter jeff and the public?

  • Touring, and KILLING IT!!!

  • Damn, is this guy touring still?

  • 1:18 Hell yeah!!!

  • genial, suena como joe satriani pero con buen gusto =)

  • Jeff and Vinnie...., top of their game!

  • his tone is better than ever

  • Fully armored combat guitar!

  • Modern Music Starts don´t age anymore ...

  • It seems to me Jeff is so busy, there is no Mrs.Jennifer Batten...

It's definitely this song is tremendously!!

  • that piano guy's inaudible... someone did a shitty job at the mixing desk.

  • Cool :D

  • There's a lot of older Jeff Beck stuff (mostly in black and white) on youtube with the JB group, Rod Stewart, with Carmine Appice. I think he was incredibly good back then. For the most part I'm not a fan of his later stuff. Songs like Where Were You are amazing though. I think the turning point is when he abandoned using a pick in most of his playing. Just my opinion...

  • @ocean4315 OMG WTFC!!!!

  • Donde' esta Jan Hammer?

  • That solo from about 2.15 is for sure one of the most awesome solos I have ever heard.

  • 24K Beck!!!

  • If Hendrix was still with us, he may have explored the limits of the strat like this. As it is, joy for Beck! (and yes, I do know of Chris Duarte)

  • bit more practice and he could be good

  • @ThegodisAbraxas Screw you bitch, it's not that he's boring them it's just a tradition to the peolpe that they must remain silent during a concert

  • @synfan7x Listen to this. It's crap. There's hardly even a discernible rhythm, just him bending strings and banging out harmonics.

  • @ThegodisAbraxas You're not a very smart guy,are you? :(

  • @ThegodisAbraxas When you're on somrthing other than yer toilet maybe we'll listen to you...STFU

  • @ThegodisAbraxas I personally guarantee you 99% of them are there for Jeff Beck. They LOVE him over there.

  • @AxisofJustice21 Well apparently i dont need to be smart to know how much crap this is, you Jeff Beck wannabe. And why not write your own music? Instead of just copying some old washed up guitarist and licks that are like 40 years old already. You're probably too dumb for that though. I bet you've never had to really work at anything in your life, your parents give you everything and you bitch out of any sort of serious confrontation cause you're a sheltered little pussy.

  • I saw Jeff Beck April 24 2010 and it was the best concert of my life. Watching him on videos is badass. But when you see some one like that live it is out of this world. If anyone has not seen him live I recomend you Go. Even if you have to travel to see him. It's worth it.

  • Awesome. Beck is fantastic - thanks for posting.

  • he kind of looks like glass joe from punchout (NES)

  • Love that bent reed harmonica sound @2:18 -it kills!

I can't believe I actually get to see this gifted artist and his hand selected uber group June 21 at the Egyptian room in Indy!

    Amped up!

  • @MeyerG4Indiana how was that show dude?

  • I noticed him shaking his hands quite a lot during his Auckland concert and I wondered whether he was just loosening up or whether he suffers from Overuse Syndrome... He's been playing a long time and unlike a lot of other guitarists, he doesn't break for vocals.

  • Jeff Beck is a Guitar God

  • why are people just standing there... if I were there I'd be to happy to just stand there.

  • @gapingmaw20 they are playing at Fuji speedway - Japan, and in thier culture it is very respectable to be stand there being silent. AT least that's what I have heard.

  • カッコいい~~!!

    素敵すぎる~~♪♪

  • jeff beck's guitar strings are jeff beck's vocal chords!!!

  • jeff beck's guitar strings are jeff beck's vocal chords!!!

  • Oh jeeeeeez, Jeff Beck is TIMELESS!

And he makes it look sooooo easy~

  • You get the odd guitar player who's probably a Steve vai fan who will say Becks playing is easy!! id like to see them make a video and show us all :) playing around with a volume knob/tremolo arm is not that easy at all! its how you do it! and beck in my opinion, is the master of this

  • @Fender1976uk i couldnt agree more!!!!!!!!

  • @jeepster405 thats why i hate him

  • Awesome!

  • now i see where satriani and vai came from

  • Brilliant observation!

  • satriani and vai are two trash.guitar players like beck, tommi bolin ,jan akerman are genius

  • @georgeeporgee777 Glad you finally figured out that Old Farts like Jeff Beck have made Rock n Roll what it is today. I can remember the first time I heard "Blue WInd" like it was yesterday......Cheers

  • @georgeeporgee777 Yup! They pretty much popped out of Beck's nut sack!

  • great or greatest ever?

  • ...ya mucho ya

  • I'm almost positive it's the fact that Jeff Beck is holding the guitar and playing all these notes while us mere mortals sit back and be in shock.

  • i WANT this recording!!!!!!

  • PM me if you're interested in getting the whole concert :)

  • nice, 100k views ::O

  • Colaiuta is an animal. you have to be the best to have played with zappa.

  • @fanzappa Just like Terry Bozzio and Chad Wackerman, two other excellent drummrs

  • Vinnie Colaiuta!

    SICK

  • Not only is Jeff Beck a guitar god, he's held up pretty well over the years! Lookin' good & certainly sounding awesome! This is what Keith Richards could have looked like if he'd taken it slightly easier, ya? BRAVO!

  • Don't feel bad dudes, El Becko doesn't tour much anywhere. I've had the chance to see him twice, and it was mind blowing both times.

  • um... U2?? u callin U2 bad cause theyr amazing. maybe not as good as jeff beck, true, but they are amazing

  • no there not amazing

they write songs that appeal to the general public and not people that know alot about music

  • i want to see him in show so bad! shame that no good musicians ever come to norway!

  • good metal bands do come, but no good guitar artists...I would love to see Beck

  • Um.. becker maybe, but friedman? Are you fried man? lol who was friedman again? oh right, dave mustaine's yes man.

  • freidman is more than a metal guitarist

hes is far more creative than most famouse guitarists

  • i love how the stage set up is soooooo simple just some amps a drummer some of thoes speakers in the front i forgot what their called but i know that the mixes mess with them and you tell them what you wana hear more like drums or key boards but i love how the stage set up is so simple

  • you mean monitors...

  • The speakers a re called monitors and they r really helpful, when my band plays without them we suck!

  • Can't wait to see JB play this LIVE in Philly in two weeks. And with Zappa's old drummer, Vinnie Colaiuta !!!

  • Amen Abe ...Beck is the Man!!!!!

  • Hey thats all your opinion, i love satch and vai and beck, malmsteen not so much.

Whatever your opinion, you cant deny that they are all great musicians, and they love what they do. Isnt that the whole point?

  • I like some of those guys stuff a lot but in my opinion they are fantastic guitarists mediocre musicians. Which is where beck separates him self from the crowd. He Is a god at the guitar and has a jazz players musicianship.

  • Bassplr1470 .. so right .. no substitute for experience.. when you hear Beck or Gilmour or BB you hear years of experience and superb taste..IF ONLY we had Jimi with another 30 years under his belt..what the hell he would be doing now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That drummer is sick mad.

  • hey 'cry-o-baby'....your full of piss & vingar. Its NOT about any of those things - step out of the crib and open your ears!

  • The man has got THE TOUCH. This song kicks ass all over the damn place. One of the all-time greats. He has inspired me to play from the heart. Like he does.

  • The thing about Beck is he gets his sound from his hands. No processing of the signal is used in his stuff. Look how he works the tone and volume pots so effortlessly. Not knocking guys like Morello, The Edge, etc., for they do cool stuff. But, listen to some of these videos where he is playing with people using effects. The sound is so much cleaner. It's like saying I can out-race Lance Armstrong on my Harley...

  • van2040, Satriani, well if he's stop playing scales, maybe we'd hear a song??? I'm not impressed by someone going up and down the neck of the guitar super fast, not playing anything but lots of notes, that's just boring.Hell I play guitar, I love hearing impressive phrasing, intericate melody, music, not scales.Jeff Beck, THE MASTER!#1

  • NO Jeff Beck DOESN'T play by any formula, that IS the point, and what separates him from everyone esle anyone who plays guitar, who is respected, well Jeff Beck is concidered the most repected by all his peers. He influenced them all. He'll he was just voted BEST OVERALL GUITARIST, 2008 . I know the man he's humble, and magnificant!ok

fezzappa, BTW I play guitar also.

  • his point was that there is no formula to determine a guitarists greatness, not that beck didnt have a formula

  • Beck created this style and proves all the time he owns it without shoving it down ur throat!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You're kidding right? You're honestly going to compare players like Satriani to Jeff Beck? Get the hell out of here, dude. Beck hasn't been surpassed by shit. There are A LOT of great talents out there, but there is only one Jeff Beck.

Guys like Satch, Eric Johnson, etc.. they are wonderful God like players, but I can speak for a lot of MUSICIANS here when I say that Jeff Beck does something that a lot of them really can't do.

Talk to you through the electric guitar.

  • jeff beck can be your favorite guitar player, thats fine...i watched this and enjoyed it but beck isn't so great that i see him as untouchable-....saying who is the best is impossible, but yes, santana is comparable to beck and so are many others-

music is all about opinion and taste- i also play guitar,so dont tell me,i dont know what i am talking about- no real musician is going to say one guy is better than another because it is impossible to prove-

  • But its not about who plays the fastest or whos more technically brilliant sometimes just the notes matter and sometimes too many notes dont mean shit but jeff is a guy whos notes have continuity and harmonize with everything he does.

  • dapunk...i agree with you- the point is that no one guy is "the best"- to say jeff beck is the greatest is fine, but it pure opinion.I was making that point-

  • thats also the opinion of the most successful guitarists in the world though,so there may be something to it

  • They are all technique and are dead when it comes to feel. So, no, Jeff is in first class w Hendrix, Clapton, and Page. Those players you speak of still got to get thru Eddie VH, Ritchie Blackmore, Randy Rhoads, Duane Allman and so on.. Also, All the guys I mentioned wrote, composed, some of the greatest songs ever! Morse and Satch althoug good, haven't.

They'd bow to Beck in his presence.

  • Amazing clip. Thanks for posting. Drummer himself is over the top, but JB is unbelievable.

  • This was 2006? What the --- Does this man never age? I mean, he was in the Yardbirds for God's sake. That was in the late 1800's or thereabouts, wasn't it?

  • @wardka Was that sarcasm because if so, it's kinda funny, If not, Then I wanna slap you for thinking The Yardbirds were in the late 1800's, They were a 50's, 60's band.

  • @wardka

the power of rock keeps him from aging.

  • this song just grabs me by the balls and makes shit of me. nothing can stand in it's way

  • jeff is awesome...and so is his band

  • He must have been an inspiration for Stevie Vai. Vai has got the same kind of untypical vibe.

  • Stvie was after Jeff Beck, he was at the 60s, and he was one of the top guitarist of that decade... But Jimi was at first at 60s...

  • he meant Steve Vai listened to Jeff Beck's music for inspiration.

  • oops... :S I misread...

  • There is nothing like the trademarked sound of Jeff Beck. There is nothing like him nor there ever will be. He is Picasso on the Strat.

  • why is this comment minus 6?

  • because beck bashers love to piss off the beck worshipers. I personally am the latter.

  • this is true. no idea why the thumbs down

  • Just a wild guess, this is in some country beside the U.S., where people have their heads even farther up there asses than we do. Whose the drummer? He cooks!!

  • The drummer is Vinnie Colaiuta.

  • What is wrong with the crowd?!!! they're standing so still- it barely looks like they're moving and they couldn't be that mezmorized

  • Mr. Mofo himself layin' it down hard! Long live Jeff Beck!

  • His guitar tone is one of my favorites... right next to Greg Howe's and Tom Morello's. Sweet stuff.

  • Instrumental music is great!

  • Whoooooooooooah!!!!!!!!!

  • I don't like the keyboardist. He is the weakest link.

  • how can people say instrumental music is not great? this will melt your face off...

  • Mr Jeff Beck can make his guitar talk.

  • The man forces me to think. Reevaluate. Then I shut down. He makes other musicians reach. Does he have an equal? The guitar submits to his will. He gives me hope in music.

  • The more you listen to Jeff.......it just gets better!

  • oh my god,what sounds!!!

  • go vinny

  • Beck loved Jimi. After Jimi died Beck said: "...there is nothing left to believe in this world now..." He plays "The Star Spangled Banner" at the end of this song. A tribute to Hendrix and America !! Beck is full class all the way. He should be fucking knighted !!

  • Beck is wicked!

  • if you think he is a musical GOD you need to check out JOE SATRIANI he will blow your mind completly off

  • Joe is good but Beck, Page and Clapton are icons>

  • lol the crowd dosnt move. I supposed they are in awe of Jeff's awesomeness.

  • DID JOE Satriani RIP this song off "SUMMER SONG" anyone????? Please I hear the same riff and major chords

  • nah, look any vai / satriani influnce you hear is Beck being influenced by them. Listen back to Beck before Vai et al appeared and his style is nothing like this at all - not that he hasn't always been a good guitar player, but, unlike page [who said he tried to play like EVH and couldn't] Beck has kept up to date. Personally I like the mix of old school / new school that he plays these days.

  • many guys are influenced by others- the guys from the 50's influenced the guys from the 60's and so on- credit goes for being original-

that doesn't make them "the best" there is no best in music- its about taste and opinion-

i enjoy jeff beck he is awesome, but give me the formula that makes him the best....there is none-

  • He doesn't play licks--he makes STATEMENTS!!

From 3:26 on it's lyrical heaven...!

  • "Star Spangled Banner" riff at the end !! Total tribute to Jeff's hero Jimi... Gotta love Beck. Total class.

  • Beck used very light strings at first, but Jimi called them sissy girl's strings, and from that moment on Beck has played with hevy strings.

  • Absolutely the best there is. Fantastic drumming. Great sidemen.

  • where is Jan Hammer ?
