@PHARRAOH recently i've just been taking my dog out to [lower] San Antonio canyon, where that first fire station sits next to the stream [when ur going up to mt. balby village]. been seeing a few 6-7" rainbow trouts around there. that and working on my samurai.

I can understand how you want to keep that area as pristine as possible. Too many people would over run and ruin it. There are so many areas I go to that are hidden from others, too. One thing seems to be constant; If its hard to get to, their won't be anyone around. I do like that pot stand/stove combination, and your tent. Great little set up. Thanks for the views Alan.

@intenseangler you should see when my buddy frank comes along, he brings rib eye steaks, shrimp, beer and the whole 9 yards. we get blasted and have a great time. One time one dudes tent went up in flames and he, instead of fighting the fire, danced around it like a warrior. needless to say, "he doesnt go in with us any more" :-)

tarp+bivy lighter than solo tent?

@edenooch the tarp and my bivy are less than all my tents except for my terra nova elite. that thing is feather wewight! i wouldnt have used a bivy but the ants aroung there are many and huge. big black bitting ants. one time on catalina, i awoke to turn on my light and hundreds of mice filled the beach! it was unbelievable! i carry the 15 oz bivy "just in case"
