Balkan wars it was long time ago and it was the start of the ending of colonization era. Balkan countries including Greece were our colonies. It was not only Ottomans, Britain, France and all others started to lose their colonies one by one after. @kespec Sure they are. Long proven tech by a established company. Not a copy of a machine by Italy. Turks can't make their own helicopter. We have the better training program and our pilots will out perform the Turks easily. Also we have better mechanic's that have a long tradition of the NCO core that pass on their knowledge to the junior marines. Plus 10 years combat experience that make our pilots,mechanics, and tactics better.
the reason turkey never ordered apaches their being useless in mountainous areas and their being expensive. this is why a-129 is upgraded to meet the needs of turkish army in order to fight terrorists that dwell on mountains, replacing the current issued super cobras.
it seems you know very little about turkey as its been constantly battling PKK for 30 years which makes combat experience a little more.

@kespec What you see in the video is what it will look like, granted some EW/IR countermeasures will be added also and maybe a MMW radar later on (later batches of exports). This design was chosen because of it's agility and high rate of climb, which gives added advantages in mountanous terrain where upon the heavier Apache doesn't have as much agility, but it's still a mean machine and doing awesome job in Afghanistan similiar landscape to our south east.
in the last part of video,turkish minister of defense says it's a great achivement that this prototype model can do many manouvers which others can't. heli computer and all the software is produced by turkish side, turkey will also have rights to sell those to third parties as well. bravo!

@ChrisRedfieldofficia The body is Italian AND British, the engine is American, but everything else including the weapons, avionics and mission computer is Turkish, designed for the Turkish Land Forces by Turkish Aerospace Industries, Aselsan, Roketsan and the lot. TAI has all the intellectual rights as well as marketing and sales rights. So it's not actually right to say it's Italian, but it's not solely Turkish either, it's "Agusta/Westland - TAI".

They could be immediately involved in the joint design and development of the TUHP149. It will also be assembled, tested and delivered from Turkish facilities.
Turkey will be also responsible for final assembly for all TUHP149 helicopters to be supplied to Turkey.

But in the midst of battle, unexpected can happen and when it does happen, it is nasty. And good countermeasure can makes a difference between life or dead.
It was the P-1 prototype that crashed. The picture of the landing suspension is not evidence that it wasnt. The number is CSX81723 as reported by Italian media which is the same as the P-1.

Is so nice to see you face your failure. For you info stupid, the T-126 ATAK P1 (serial CSX81723) helicopter crashed on Mar 16 due to rear rotor failure, near Preglia di Crevoladossola. Btw your P2 model will go to final assembly on June. Isn't it strange that I know more than you about this? What the hell do they tell there?
Mechnical complications eminating from the rear rotor will be resolved, and the production will continue as planned. Besides, they dont call it a prototype for no reason :P

@kespec Sure they are. Long proven tech by a established company. Not a copy of a machine by Italy. Turks can't make their own helicopter. We have the better training program and our pilots will out perform the Turks easily. Also we have better mechanic's that have a long tradition of the NCO core that pass on their knowledge to the junior marines. Plus 10 years combat experience that make our pilots,mechanics, and tactics better.

the reason turkey never ordered apaches their being useless in mountainous areas and their being expensive. this is why a-129 is upgraded to meet the needs of turkish army in order to fight terrorists that dwell on mountains, replacing the current issued super cobras.
it seems you know very little about turkey as its been constantly battling PKK for 30 years which makes combat experience a little more.

@kespec What you see in the video is what it will look like, granted some EW/IR countermeasures will be added also and maybe a MMW radar later on (later batches of exports). This design was chosen because of it's agility and high rate of climb, which gives added advantages in mountanous terrain where upon the heavier Apache doesn't have as much agility, but it's still a mean machine and doing awesome job in Afghanistan similiar landscape to our south east.

İtalyanların eline sağlık.. Özellikle motor hava girişleri çok zekice tasarlanmış. Ancak bu helikopterler tank avcısıdır. Doguda terorist avı için kullanmak pahalıya mal oluyır. Süper Cobralar da öyle. Genel maksat ya da keşif avcı hafifi helikopterleri göndermek daha ucuz. Hatta TİHA göndermek en iyi çözüm olacaktır.

Bunlar - su veya bu nedenlerden dolayi - hayata gecirilememistir. Burada teknoloji transferinde bulunmak istemeyen veya siyasi engellerden dolayi gerceklestirilemeyen projeler vardir. Suna katiliyorum; AKP döneminde ciddi bir ivme kazanmistir. Ama bunlar AKP projeleri degildir. Bunlar hakikat.

@ChrisRedfieldofficia The body is Italian AND British, the engine is American, but everything else including the weapons, avionics and mission computer is Turkish, designed for the Turkish Land Forces by Turkish Aerospace Industries, Aselsan, Roketsan and the lot. TAI has all the intellectual rights as well as marketing and sales rights. So it's not actually right to say it's Italian, but it's not solely Turkish either, it's "Agusta/Westland - TAI".

@jpmonty88 The TUHP149 programme bring together several Turkish aerospace and defence industry players, namely Aselsan, TEI, Roketsan, Havelsan and a few others.
They could be immediately involved in the joint design and development of the TUHP149. It will also be assembled, tested and delivered from Turkish facilities.
Turkey will be also responsible for final assembly for all TUHP149 helicopters to be supplied to Turkey.
This should be good for the local economy.

Anyway, this helicopter is brilliant and adaptive to all combat situation. Although the only thing I concern is the armor plating fuselage. Can she withstand 20mm to 23mm hit? We shall see.

It was the P-1 prototype that crashed. The picture of the landing suspension is not evidence that it wasnt. The number is CSX81723 as reported by Italian media which is the same as the P-1.

apache is bigger yeah but does not have better technology nor safety. t129 gets same type of weapons and technology including the radar of apcahe longbow. its lighter and a multi-role copter. apache is simply anti tank...thats it.
t129 will even be used for the navy, land, anti guirilla anti tank etc etc and its waaaay cheaper than the apache. so you go straighten you economy first before you go brag here about someone elses apache which you cant even afford...

So, let alone down, no t129 (other then the prototype) has ever left the ground even. What you see here is thee test flight of t 129 prototype. So, 1. Get your facts right 2. Is so nice to see you face your failure. For you info stupid, the T-126 ATAK P1 (serial CSX81723) helicopter crashed on Mar 16 due to rear rotor failure, near Preglia di Crevoladossola. Btw your P2 model will go to final assembly on June. Isn't it strange that I know more than you about this? What the hell do they tell there?

Mechnical complications eminating from the rear rotor will be resolved, and the production will continue as planned. Besides, they dont call it a prototype for no reason :P
