He literally said he wanted to fundamentally transform America and nobody can pretend he didn't; that's not what I'm after. Obama has been revealing how he wants America to be "transformed" for at least 31 years. Only since his presidential campaign began has he tried to (somewhat) veil it for those who wouldn't take the time to learn about his vision for America. He has harbored his disdain for this country as he was taught pretty much since his birth.
Everything he's done as "president" is in step with what he has always expressed.
Not sure what "those Roots of Obama's Rage People" are (Must be a book or something...??). I'd rather read from Obama's own book but I'll look it up.
I'm one of those people who cares enough about his country to fervently research anybody who might be handed the power to pass the laws of the land.
Much of the information I have obtained came from sites and writings of people who admired him. Those sites quickly disappeared from the internet shortly after his campaign began.
@qpwillie I'm assuming, since you've read Obama's books, that you know his life growing up, at least as far as an autobiography could show you.That sort of rules you out from the "Obama's Rage" crowd.The book attempts to argue that Obama learned everything from his father and that he is a Kenyan Revolutionary.Newt Gingrich has talked very fondly of the book, surprisingly.Of course, I assume you know why the central argument isn't valid, having read the book. That's weird about those sites though

The fact is, Obama never lived with his father. His parents probably never even married. I don't take his book as gospel either though. A lot of inaccuracies have been proven there.

@krickerd My daughter said that the gov't mandates you to have insurance for your car and it's the same thing...I told her it's your choice to have a car because a car is a privilege, not a right.....therefore, you can drive and follow the law or you can walk or take a bus or subway...the gov't isn't telling you you have to buy a car like they are telling you you have to buy medical insurance or pay a fine. And the fine goes to the gov't instead of the insurance companies? Why?

So then logically, if something is a privilege, does this make it automatically okay for government to restrict, tax, or prohibit the use of it? In other words, does a privilege of the ruled become the right of the rulers to control as they see fit?

Well, I'm pretty typical of people of the tea party movement (Middle class, at least fairly well educated, concerned about our country........)
We're not Democrats, Republicans, Libertarian, etc. We are growing by leaps and bounds as we urge Americans to learn what's going on and they do so.
Are there exceptions? Of course there are. We are millions of people so naturally, a few will misunderstand who we are and attach themselves to us.
