Be Here was not a particularly good album live, because of the mega effects and sound that was produced by Noel's coke influenced delusions. Take nothing away from those delusions, this album is brilliant..as a studio album..not live. I love this album to bits, Dyou Know What I Mean is probably in my top 3 favourite Oasis tunes. The video for this was brilliant as well, proper class, by proper rockstars who dont give a F$%k!
@AdamsAppleAnnecy Confidence is a stain you can't wipe off, Liam fucking had that, with arrogance, which people hated, i think he was a fucking icon!!
Still love Morning Glory and Definitely Maybe though, but the whole coked up attitude just give the album inclusive live performances some raw power! Love it!
@Walkerboy202 To be exact he quit his cocaine use in June 5, 1998 because the panic attacks he had (he has mentioned that exact date) that would mean that during the Budokan gig he could've been high on coke.
Liam on the other hand used the drug for years after the Be Here Now tour. Liam was arrested along with Alan White in some brawl at Munich in 2002 where the tests showed that Liam had used cocaine recently. He quit the drug for good somewhere around Dig Out Your Soul.
he was doing drugs whilst on tour with inspiral carpets. Clint Boon even said he was stealing to pay for his habits....that's when he was writing definatly maybe songs....AGAIN NO SOME RESEARCH.
Be Here Now is the best after DM? lol... wow. Be Here Now is self-indulgent drivel.
You attribute the downturn in song quality after 1999 to him giving up drugs? Nah, it's more that he isn't the person he was in the early 90's on the dole with no money. Frankly the best songs have already been written. Not sure where he can go now.
Oh yeah, and look up the definition of sober, because he still drinks like a fish.
@GKFC yes they were. im just going by what he said when he said he wrote the first 3 albums on drugs. before definately maybe he was drunk more that high seeing as he was unemployed and couldnt afford as much cocaine. he still did a ton of other stuff tho
Mad fer it
It's like The Beatles returned for a brief period in the 90s!

What's funny about this song is that much of the chords and the chord progression is similar to wonderwall. Great performance

supernova1 2 years ago 3
@supernova1 but the songs he wrote whilst on drugs blow the ones he wrote sober out of the sky
deanoward 2 years ago 3
Oh really? Give us a list of drugs vs sober songs then.
I don't think Live Forever, Slide Away, Listen Up etc were written whilst he was on drugs.
GKFC 2 years ago
@GKFC He was doing drugs when he wrote those....he went clean in 1999. So everything after was sober.
Do research before commenting.
deanoward 2 years ago
Not to the extent he was in 1997 or even 1998 when supernova1 was talking about.
Or when he wrote Be Here Now. Which was rubbish btw, so I don't know what you're talking about with your "blowing the ones out of the sky" comment.
He was casual at best in the early 90's when he wrote those other songs.
GKFC 2 years ago

And Be Here Now is easily their best after DM.
