Nothing is more emblematic of the PATHETIC state of the music scene today than this shitty remake of what was a beautiful song. The 80s version is fantastic, but the marketing-driven, talentless group of "singers" who participated in this remake corrupted it into a mockery of the 80s version. It's called vocoder and many current (and former) stars use it as an instrument, nowdays.
It's like an effect (as reverb or delay). It's just way of production.
Real corrections are done with so powerful computers (pro-tools etc) that no-one can notice!!!!

Jennifer Batten once told me that the man never played an instrument in his life and i never saw him play squat! Its easy to sit down at a piano and pretend to play when somebody takes a snap shot of you! I mean you aint moving! There is no footage of him actually "in motion" while playing! You were not there...... so you dont know! Zip it!

We are doing LESS with MORE. 25years ago they didn't have Protools,Logic,Autotune and all of the digital toys and tricks we have today yet the sound quality back THEN is Still 1000 percent better!!! it does not matter if they sang it good or not, if the the intention is for haiti or fame, if it a cause or a public stunt.
be thankful that they made a way to reach us for our donations for haiti thru downloads. people complain about them not giving their personal earnings, but most of us haven't made a single dollar as contribution. honestly i havnt made a donation myself yet.
but haiti is in desperate need and the war for intelligence by criticizing will not help them at all.

It's only been performed twice and both times it was to raise awarness about people in crisis. The song is a fund raiser to address issues that weren't being addressed like famine and now the terrible earth quake in Haiti. Tell me a crisis where Latinos & American Indians & Persians needed to raise billions & billions of dollars over night!?
