A380, flying gadget. Boeing 747, is a legend and a cultural icon, so despite the fact of being "low tech" and "outdated" 747 wins my heart . Airbus, Boeing, McDonnell Douglas, and others does a fantastic job transporting me and everyone else safely, thank you!
Neither. Both are great aircraft. Airbus has somewhat taken over the market recently, but that doesn't mean that Boeing cant catch up. Boeing is a classic name. You ask anyone to name an airplane 9/10 they say 747. But with all of the promotion that the a380 got, everyone wants to fly on it. American Airlines is breaking its all Boeing fleet by ordering some ~250 a320's. But there's not on manufacturer. Each has certain planes that fill certain markets. Just my 2 cents.. :p
Wow ! The beast at the end , for this vid i take A380 . But, it's like comparing a glass of water and a glass of vinegar , they look the same , but they're different : )
There's so many aspects you could consider. Strictly talking LOOKS, I think I like 747 a LOT better than that fat ugly bitch :D .... as a side note, 747 is definitely a GUY, I don't know why you call him "the queen of the sky" .... KING maybe ... can't you see how masculine the plane looks? A330 is a girl, Concorde was a girl, 747 is a dude, 727 is a girl, DC-10 is a guy ... it's simple really ... @Byron10301 u really are retarded.an aircraft being male or female what difference does it make. from and engineers point if view they are both beautiful aircraft.against the antonov 225 then airbus and boeing are small fry
Seriously writing, how could we set these two aircraft in comparison? Technically, perhaps, according to their performance capabilities? The A380 will win in most aspects of that battle, though the 747-8i is not too far behind to fight the good fight!
Regarding aesthetics...the 747-8i takes that fight beyond a shadow of a doubt. The A380 looks like a whale, rather ugly in my view of things.
No contest! A380 has it atm, a far more sophisticated, efficient and cool plane.. a flying city lol. So unless one falls out the sky.. as they are effectively testing it on the fly with passengers for guinea pigs it will stay in the lead until the 747-8 hits the skys and only if boeing has caught up with the specs of the A380. The fact the 747 looks way better means nothing to me as a passenger if the A380 is cheaper and I get more space. Im just waiting for testing to finish :|

Such an easy choice. The 747 is steeped in history and prestige - an iconic aircraft with its roots in the glamorous jet set era. It is alive with soul and character, the clinical Airbus simply cannot compete. But who knows - maybe in 50 years we will look at the a380 with fondness?
well most ppl chose the 747 but airlines are chosing the A380 and if they dont chose the A380 they choose the 77W. Why would you order a plane that has 4 engines and is less efficient when you can fly almost the same amount of passengers on a 77W and its more efficient, if airlines need anything larger than the 77W they go for the A380.
@Skyline4LifeRoyal Yeah, I think people who make who make unsubstantiated comments are stupid too. Too many plane spotters on here who've never flown in their lives.
it's funny how all these simmer pilots think the a380 is like 100x bigger than the 747 i work at Miami international airport we have several 747's ranging from British Airways to Air France to Korean air and we have 1 Lufthansa a380 that leaves here daily and let me tail you when these 2 monsters stand next and next there is no difference whats so ever besides the upper deck and the wings that's pretty much about it the 747 held the size record for 30+ years the A380 does NOT dwarf it
Not a fan of the A380, impressive Flight Deck but apart from that I don't really like it. It's had some pretty bad luck over the past couple years it's been in service that's for sure! Nothing will compare to the B747 Series, just like Concorde, nothing will compare!
Nearly 35 years of service I can say that I love the 747 hands down and please don't.compare accidents with And A380 and 747 the whale has been in the air for about 5 years.. And we are seeing cracks in its wings already. There is bound to be aand accident in the next 5 years as for the 747 it needs no civilian testing its been don't already
@Jl777100 767s and 757s have flown for years with stress fractures in wing components. Its inevitable that some wing brackets will fail from time to time. 747s are constantly suffering from problems with hydraulic seals. How do you feel about the fact that the 787 is already suffering de-lamination at the wing roots already? All these comparatively minor issues get ironed out as the aircraft develops
@BOACMach2 how true, new planes always have gliches, just like a new model car does. take the 747-8i. meant to have a longer range than the 400, but boeing have had so seal of the tail fuel tanks to a flutter problem, 747 is an old design reworked.. the fault in the wing spars on the 380, are very small, due to a material defect that has been corrected.
Firstly, everyone in the comments who is hating on others because of their opinion SHUT THE HELL UP!! Everyone can have their say! Now I will have mine. I like the 747 more than the A380, idc if the 747-400 is noisier, less fuel efficient, older, slightly narrower, whatever idgaf, I still like it better than the a380 (which is still a great plane btw, but is still too big for many airports!) Long live the 747!
@SleekDan97 just as the 747 was too big when it was first launched, not impressed by 767 but do love the 747, amazing game changer when it came out, still an amazing aircraft.
@royalstarfish17 Thats rubbish. Those cracks were on part that was not supportive or anything important, and in new Airbus A380 hulls there wont be those anymore. In existing ones I think that they will do just frequent checks and thats all. Most commercial jets have had some minor problems like that when they were new.
I love both planes but the 747 wins. It's a beautiful planes that has never had any problems with the aircraft itself and reminds me of the whale of the sky
The A380 is also neat and is expected that companies would make a 2 decker plane but it is just scary. It looks huge but too huge like a fat twinky being lifted by pieces of paper. I have a feeling it is going to have a lot of problems when the planes get older and I would get on it as long as it stays on the ground
@Pvjinflight HEY DONT BRING TWA 800 in this cause it was Not an Explosion and I think the door problem was because it wasn't closed right but in general I was saying it doesnt have many problems like DC-10 ex. and the A380 is already having problem Plus if you ever look at a landing of 747 or A380 you see the A380 has a crash land feeling which is not good
@kingdanbucky2515 TWA 800 cause was fuel tank explosion unless you are conspiracy theorist. Anyway Boeing designed air conditioning system near tank which heated up fuel inside tank and made it to explode easier. Cargo door in that 747 was closed right, but electrical failure caused uncommanded opening during flight, something that it should not do even with failure.
Last part is pure bullshit, and A380 does not have too many problems.

@SAMCAMJAIK1 I am just saying that no matter when plane is built there often is some kind of hidden minor technical fault that is detected during first years in operation and fixed after that.
@MityLite You've never seen what's in the compartment under the cockpit of a 747 have you? Let me tell you; boxes and boxes.....and boxes of computers and automated systems. ALL responsible for flying the aircraft. The captain only programs them what to do. Not a lot different from the A380 really, it just has up-to-date equipment :-
@MityLite How do you think the controls work on a 747 flight-deck? The captain doesn't flap his arms out the window to make it fly. lol. It's possible to program the flight computer to fly (and land) from London Heathrow to Singapore without any input from the captain at all, once the aircraft is off the ground. The A380 does exactly the same thing with more modern technology, that's all.
your talking 30 years apart.

What amazing video of varity of planes and landings there jon.

I hope the future hold

@kingdanbucky2515 Well one old 747 already exploded, another had cargo door blowout when it was new...
Pvjinflight 1 month ago
@Pvjinflight HEY DONT BRING TWA 800 in this cause it was Not an Explosion and I think the door problem was because it wasn't closed right but in general I was saying it doesnt have many problems like DC-10 ex. and the A380 is already having problem Plus if you ever look at a landing of 747 or A380 you see the A380 has a crash land feeling which is not good
kingdanbucky2515 1 month ago
@kingdanbucky2515 TWA 800 cause was fuel tank explosion unless you are conspiracy theorist. Anyway Boeing designed air conditioning system near tank which heated up fuel inside tank and made it to explode easier. Cargo door in that 747 was closed right, but electrical failure caused uncommanded opening during flight, something that it should not do even with failure.
Last part is pure bullshit, and A380 does not have too many problems.

@Pvjinflight That's a very unfair comparison. You can't compare a 747-100 which was built
in 1971 with an A380 which was built 35 years later. That's just stupid.
SAMCAMJAIK1 4 weeks ago
@SAMCAMJAIK1 I am just saying that no matter when plane is built there often is some kind of hidden minor technical fault that is detected during first years in operation and fixed after that.

why was there a southwest 737 in this video? lol

the 747 has personality and it makes you feel more a part of the aircraft while the airbus is just computers and automatics

@MityLite You've never seen what's in the compartment under the cockpit of a 747 have you? Let me tell you; boxes and boxes.....and boxes of computers and automated systems. ALL responsible for flying the aircraft. The captain only programs them what to do. Not a lot different from the A380 really, it just has up-to-date equipment :-
)
geoffphuket 1 month ago
@geoffphuket thats what not what I meant, ofc I know theres loads of computers but on the airbus you dont control anything
MityLite 1 month ago
@MityLite How do you think the controls work on a 747 flight-deck? The captain doesn't flap his arms out the window to make it fly. lol. It's possible to program the flight computer to fly (and land) from London Heathrow to Singapore without any input from the captain at all, once the aircraft is off the ground. The A380 does exactly the same thing with more modern technology, that's all.

@geoffphuket omg I wouldnt have said it if I havent tried them both. Well I have and I hated the airbus.
MityLite 1 month ago
@MityLite Tried them both?... As captain or first officer?
