  • The album cover are portraits in anamorphic projection.

I used to listen to this until I wore-out the album.

    Blow up the fire!

  • Still my favourite version of this song, afterr nearly 40 years, in spite of its untraditional and very English treatment of a song from the Scottish border.

  • What can be accomplished with the 70's chord heavy approach to everything in the hands of accomplished musicians?

    This masterpiece.

  • Yet another tale of Renaissance life in the Isles. Don't you often wonder how the children who grew up hearing these tunes retained the mystical, haunting and, yes, grotesque, imagery throughout their lives? Now they have violent video games to assault them visually. I much prefer the imagination's interpretation of these bonnie ol' tunes.

  • @cheaptwangers: What on Earth are you talking about?

  • @Lacertist lol, I just read that twaddle also.

  • Mycket fin song med Steeleye span, älskar den

(Very nice song with Steeleye span, love it)

  • What I have always liked about Steeleye Span's version of this is that it reflects my own ideas about the original poem.

It's usually presented as a ghost story and it is that, but it's also a love story. She loved her three sons so much she called them back from Paradise.

And they loved her so much, they came.

  • Steeleye Span win so hardcore =)

    I'm awed :)
