This was not his actual FPS. he usd a command to playback the recorded film at the specified framerate. it is a cool trick but he probably got around 1-10 fps in all actuality

Turn off any background crap you got on your comp and put the gmod process at realtime on all but 1 core. Second, overclock everything you got to a stable enough setting to last you through the recording process of the game.

When you detonate the barrels, DO NOT move the screen or press any buttons! When you watch the vid, the first time I detonated the barrels, I moved my mouse too early and it crashed. During the second time, I didn't move the screen until after the detonation.

Why? Because SOURCE RECORDER is supposed to run SMOOTHLY. If you made an extremely epic movie, you'd want it to be in good quality, and run VERY smoothly. Right? This is exactly what Source Recorder does, no matter how bad your pc lags, it records it at a smooth rate.

Tip, run it at a low resolution for much higher fps and a smaller avi, therfore if your uploading to youtube it doesnt loose too much quality.

Also, try not to go for over 1000 props because the source recorder often gets the "error no free allocs" or somthing like that. just watch for physics collisions and make sure you have plenty of ram and it should work well.
