  • At 0:17 the lady on the left is holding Omega Supreme!!! xD But look at those prices, back than everything was so cheap. Now a days it's just sad how toys are going up price.

  • wow my teanage days lol''

  • The guy who wrote and performed it, was a working musician in the area. Around 1987 he did a show at CK Center in Springfiled for our handicapped clients. His big encore was when he played and sang the Kiddie City song! The guys just went nuts!

Yes the Roo mascot was KayCee and KayCee was female. She had a baby Roo too, but I'm drawing a blank on the kids name. They came into existance in the 80's as Kiddie City tried hard to get back on a profit track with Big Old Toys R Us kicking ass.

  • as far as woolworth goes, I don't know about the rest of you, but the one we had here in eastern PA was a pretty ratty/smelly old store that had a thrift shop feel. I admit, I don't remember that much about 1986, but this commercial makes it seem like a store that's a serious contender in the toy market.

  • I Miss Those Kiddie City Stores.

  • Technically Woolworth is still in business as Foot Locker and Champs Sports.

  • I remember this commercial...Lionel Kiddie City and Children's Palace jingles let you know every year it was time for the man in the big red suit to come visiting...

  • PHILLY!!!

  • what was the name of the kangaroo?

  • I believe it's Kaycee.

  • Kiddie City was my first job! I still remember this jingle word for word. I always sing it around Christmas time. Thanx for posting it, it brought back nice memories.

  • I remember kiddie city

  • Awesome. These Lionel Kiddy City commercials seem to actually be recreations of old Lionel Playworld commercials. It becomes clear the more I see them.

  • A paceful rest to both Woolworth's and Lionel Kiddie City. I remember both fondly growing up, and remember the jingle.

Took me forever to remember who use to use the kangroo turning a frown into smile in their commerical.

  • Twenty-two years later, I still have the Lionel Kiddie City commercial on tape.

I hated to see Woolworth's go out of business. They had very good prices.

  • Woolworth and Kiddie city ,were both awesome,I miss those stores, and the 80's.

  • OMG I had both those toys lol

  • always liked Kiddie City better than TRU, I was raised goint to Kiddle city

  • heh,

I had the Transformers Omega Supreme shown at 00:17!

  • Awesome! By any chance do you have any Play Town Commercials?!

  • I remember the Lionel kiddie jingle made me sad, then by the end I smiled.Good marketing!

  • I remember the Lionel Kiddie City stores, but sadly, it was no longer a toy store, it's gone forever! Now we got Toys 'R Us.

  • Jem and the Holograms they are not!

  • Here in CT, we had Child World and a couple of local toy stores--Kiddytown in Norwalk and Sol's in Stamford. And yes we had Woolworth's, too.

  • Interesting Post. Kinda sad that both Kiddie City and Woolworth are now extinct.

  • sigh, miss them both

  • I miss them both too, if anyone lives in the Bronx, do you remember the Woolworth on Burnside Ave and the Lionel Kiddie City on Fordham Road
