@rickshaw35 I use hardware and software by Light O Rama. Every item and color are manually programmed to the music, down to a tenth of a second. This is not a plug and play deal. It's not that hard, but can be very time consuming.

@rickshaw35 Yeah, there are some out there, I couldn't tell you what they are. The ones I've tried don't work well. They tend to pick up bass lines and other sounds and go crazy. This software has a beat wizard too, but same results. It does show you the wave form though, that seems help me more. The LOR stuff seems to be the most user friendly and somewhat affordable way to have a lot of control of the lights. DMX is cheaper by the channel, but a dump truck of work and knowledge.

@dremoraman1 You can buy the CCR at lightorama . You don't want to know how much they cost! I saved for a year to buy 3! Plus, you would have to have at least the $100 software to program and run it. But, now you can buy some of the rgb flexible light strips with a remote to do a couple things, on ebay or amazon. It would be much easier and cheaper, but you won't get but a couple of basic effects and maybe 25 colors at most. Check it out, and see what suits you.

@thesouleatercat Yes. I programmed the lights to the music, carefully. I broadcast the music with an FM transmitter, but for the video I dubbed the audio back over it to eliminate noise from traffic and dogs barking.

@OniParanoia You're right, it's not that hard. I use Light O Rama hardware and software. But this is no plug and play deal. Every item and every color on every item is manually programmed and has it's own numbered plug. That means; tons of set up time, drop cords, and hours on hours of programming. This year, I programmed 2140 blocks on a grid per second of play per song. It's not hard, just very tedious and time consuming getting every thing timed right.
