Hmm just watched the episode on iplayer...

Ye not bad. Not as good as the last 2 eps tho :S - I thought its pacing was a bit limp. Needed more drama and less of the Noble family this time, to build up the cliffhanger. Did we need a Donna flashback already? (no Howard from the Halifax in it btw ;p)

That said it had some great lines, and it looked great too -- very cinematic in parts. Good design with the Sontarans!

Just hope Part 2 will be a bit more meaty. :D

I hate the way David delivers his line 'That's your name isn't it? You're a Sontaaaran.' But Christopher Ryan is excellent as Staal! Not too tall or gruff like Tim Raynham and Clinton Grayn, not hissy like Kevin Lindsay, and not just purely terrible like Derek Deadman, but short like Sontarans are meant to be, and with a powerful voice like a Sontaran should have.

I've been a Who fan for 30+ years and my view is that Classic and New are both good. Different, but not better or worse, both good. For my money, I'd prefer the New series Doctor to be a little less flippant, a little more distant and more 'alien'... but hey that's my view and you should enjoy it for what it is. For example, can a Classic fan honestly say they enjoyed the sometimes shameful production values??
