@hellokitty3897 why not? i ran my kickers cvr's at 1700rms off my hifonics BRZ2400.1D at 2 ohms. and the 1 ohm thing doesnt mean shit to subs, only amps. lol
@snoop6604 no, the amps need to be able to run the correct ohm load and thats it. if the sub is rated at 600rms at 2ohms then at 1ohm its roughly around 300rms. the amount off power put to the subs is how much power it takes to reach the mechanical limit. thats why higher qualtiy speakers give mechanical and thermal limits vs peak and rms. and the reason why i said its impossible to run those cvrs and at 1ohm at 1000w is bc i put beginner cvrs on a 1000w alpine mono block at 1ohm and blew em
@hellokitty3897 you are TOTALLY wrong, ANY subwoofer can be wired to a 1 ohm load, it just depends if they are dual 2 ohm, dual 4 ohm, single 4 ohm, etc. if you can wire them down to a 1 ohm load, THEY CAN HANDLE IT. just the amplifier powering it , may not. Alpine 1000w Mono blocks aren't stable at 1 ohms, so a good chance was while you wired it down, you started dropping voltage like crazy, the amp got hot, started sending clipped/dirty signals and blew the subs. YOUR WRONG.
@hellokitty3897 ``sub is rated at 600rms at 2ohms then at 1ohm its roughly around 300rms``
where did you get that info from? lol, in pretty much any case, LESS RESISTANCE = MORE POWER. why would you wire down to a less resistance load, and lose HALF the power? you just have some more learning to do man.
@snoop6604 look pal...ive been doing this for a while and actually used correct electrical measurements bc i work at the local audio shop. we do not do shit work by any means. i dont care what you say bc obviously you really dont have a clue. let me break it down for you. ohms= resistance. if you have 4ohms of resistance and the speaker peaks at 600w at 4ohms and then you drop it down to 2ohms itll take less power bc theres less resistance.
@hellokitty3897 so at 2ohms of resistance the peak should be around 300w bc you cut the resistance in half. then drop it down to 1ohm itll be around 150w of power needed to peak the speaker. if you dont believe me like im sure you do. do some testing with that. put 1000w whats at 4ohms then without changing the gain on the amp drop the speakers down to 1ohm and whatch what happens. im not trying to be a dick about this but im not wrong and i know what im talking about.
@hellokitty3897 look at your first comment, " theres no way u have those subs at 1ohm at 1000w. impossible" that makes NO sence. i dont care if you work at a car audio shop or not. those subs can EASILY handle 1000w at 1 ohm, what you gonna say about my 2 15" RE SX D2 subs wired to .5ohms ? There getting about 2400-2500 rms at a .5ohm load, gonna make up some bull shit about that too? kind of pissed me off you saying i dont have a clue when you dont. stick to your JL Audio shop shit.
@hellokitty3897 sorry i didn't know i was entered in a spelling B on youtube? i'll just wait for other people to read your comments and prove to you that you are also a dumbass.
Yes finally i have a 98 mustng convertible n had a box n the back seat that held 2 PBX 15s and powered by a rockford fosgate 700s and i loved it but didnt have a youtube account back then n no vids are left of it but im gonna rebuild the system again upcoming summer idk why nobodsy has vids of convertible mustangs n subs
LOL, 1st, those subs are crap, you can get them 60 bucks each. 2nd, well i dont even need to say anything about the box, cuz you know its crap too. lol
subs sound good cause i got one 12 but it all ways depends on if the box is tuned for them sub cause i make customs boxs are company called ( LSSD LOST SOUL SPEAKER BOX DESIGN) we make customs box price depends on how big you want it and what you want done to it
ei mc,newby here, kicker has a min and max rec sealed type boxes.whats the dif between the compact sealed and the max rec sealed box?what will you recommend for a cvr 12"?looking for a low, long throw and make the air in my car vibrate kinda bass?thanks
lol the amp is actually 1 ohm stable, and that is what they are wired at. The subs are taking nearly 1000 watts a piece and I have had them like this for 6 months with no problems. The ported box makes a huge diffferce
theres no way u have those subs at 1ohm at 1000w. Impossible.

Nice gift wrap around your box lol. good subs but they could use a better box and you shouldn't let your wires stick out like that.

Is it possible to play your subs that loud, with only 1 ohm clean and without distortion?
XxXjos3phXxX 3 years ago
yepp it plays clear but, if I turn the amp gain above 1/4 the speakers bottom out, the amp is much more powerful than neccesary
Mustang300ex17 3 years ago
is that box built for the spec of the sub?
