You know, I see a lot of bad things on youtube. There's a lot of bad content up. But generally when I see something that makes me want to leave a negative comment, I realize how little good it does me to try to make other people feel bad about something that they like, or convince them how stupid they are for disagreeing with me. I'd never heard these guys before a show last night, and it blew me away, whereas I typically would have written music like this off at a glance as "emo-punk shit."
This sound is so conventional anymore. It's the blueprint dashboard conffessional designed and it's the dead horse every indie band beats the fuck out of. It's tired.

You know, I see a lot of bad things on youtube. There's a lot of bad content up. But generally when I see something that makes me want to leave a negative comment, I realize how little good it does me to try to make other people feel bad about something that they like, or convince them how stupid they are for disagreeing with me. I'd never heard these guys before a show last night, and it blew me away, whereas I typically would have written music like this off at a glance as "emo-punk shit."

I saw them live at SXSW at Yard Dog today, and they impressed me with their energy. I think they are best seen live to appreciate their talent.

This sound is so conventional anymore. It's the blueprint dashboard conffessional designed and it's the dead horse every indie band beats the fuck out of. It's tired.

@CaptainErn Thanks for pointing that out:) However I simply meant that at some point this paticular sound was probbaly considered pretty innovative, but has since been rehashed countless times over in turn deeming it imo to be pretty average as it stands.

garagerawk, i agree with the fact that there are a lot of indie bands trying to push the sound of deatj cab for cutie, dashboard confessional etc to me, and i could see what you mean by japandroids being like them, but i disagree. this, against hands down by dashboard? this is noise, thats why i like it, really raw sounding, unproduced. now if you want to get into two person bands, thats another story......
