@symetricbody The 2K for the Nexus is if you buy the Nexus 2 and all of the expansion packs.You'll probably only need the packs that suit the style of music you make.Because there are expansion packs from Psy-Trance to Pop to Industrial to Dubstep. go to refx dott comm and you'll see what I mean.

Hi can some one give me some advice as refx do not seem to be responding to me...I want to buy nexus 2 .

I currently run ableton 8 and ni machine

on a mac book pro

I have up the RAM from 1 gig to 2 gig

and installed snow leopard 10.6

to acomomdate machine.

I went to the refx site before buying and read that they highly recommend at least 4 gig of RAM... I do not believe I can up my RAM any further

does anyone use nexus with 2 gig of ram or got any advice.... thanks

@2jackjay2 you should have no problem, i use 3 gigs with sometimes up to 12 instances of nexus running simultaneously, check the settings of the synth while in nexus, if not click the refx logo at the corner of the synth to flip to the back and change from there.

@ksskssful Computer instruments require a very high level CPU and RAM, even though Nexus2 has been better optimized, you will still need a better computer then normal to get it all working fine.

Or you might have selected an instrument that is programmed to do that.

I could say yes and no. From my point of view Nexus has over 9gb of expansions I haven't heard. That might be enough to have them both. Sometimes Omnisphere bottlenecks with 5 channels, can run about 100 Nexus's before it bottlenecks.

why do people really care if its a rompler or whether its THE best?

If it sounds good and is relevant in the track your producing then use it. Heres a list of other good synths Ive used for you all to fight about which one is the best. Sylenth1, Surge, Z3ta, Uhe Synths, Native Instruments Synths, Omnisphere, Arturia Synths, Gladiator 2, Rob Papen synths, Camel Audio Alchemy, Sonic Charge Synplant, Gforce Minimonsta, Fx Pansion Dcam. That should give you all something to argue about.
