u know u can hear a track and say thats a good song, but when you can close your eyes and drift away to this type of music and keep pressing replay u know its more than just a song its part of your life and thats real!!!
I've always loved the pure rawness and beauty of this tune. Stevie on clavinet and Moog bass synth. My brother got this album back in 1973 and I couldn't stop listening to it. Stevie was finding his sound back then when Motown decided to let him do his music the way HE wanted to do it, which was to play all the instruments himself for the exception of guitar. Another great masterpiece from a musical genius.
this is the song my love dedicates to me, thank you for posting it. so much love in his voice, so much purity. god why can't well known modern music be like this?
There is something about this song...it is the saddest happiest song, to me. It's obviously a happy song but it makes me feel a bit sad (maybe cos I'm not happier than the morning sun LOL). Although it's just beautiful. I love it so much.
I wish i was young again, so, i could feel this way again, .when you get old it is what it is. so never settle when you can have the real thing , when your young, true dat. young people.
@TherealSophiaSmall I don't know you, but I'm pretty sure you have to be doing some hard drugs to make such an ass backward comment like that...seriously.
Fantastic - this is my favorite of Wonders songs, it has the most beautiful clavinet ever recorded and that fat moog bass beneath is so jucy. The great chord progression under this beautiful melody just creates wonderful magic.
This and Superwoman are my favourite songs on the album. He had a clever thing going on where he could play a keyboard and make it sound like guitar. And that voice...sounds so sweet. Love Stevie Wonder. Is this his best album? I like some of the ones he did before and after but I've not heard ALL of them.
Maybe Your Baby is on the Talking Book album. It has been posted on You Tube in its entirety by a user called johnniewalker23. This major dude has also posted several other Stevie albums in full: go to his page and get lost in music! :)
I think Stevie is talking more about his relationship with God than with a woman. At the end of the song he mentions that he wish that everyone would be happier than the morning SON. LISTEN. BLESS UP
This is so weird to listen to after being so familiar with Jon Gibson's version. They're 2 totally different songs. This one has more lyrics and is a little folky. Jon Gibson's version loops a few of the lines and has an R&B backbeat to it. I like the latter better because it's what I grew up on, but it's interesting hearing Stevie's version too (which is also good).
I remember a Stevie Wonder song with the lyrics "maybe your baby done made some other plans..." and it was SO FINE. Does anybody know the name of this song? I was a small kid when it was played on the radio and I would love to hear it again. Thanks
PS I Love this song and never heard it before, thanks for posting.
the song is called maybe your baby i just saw your comment you've probably found it by now seeing that you posted your comment 3 months ago but if you haven't hope that answered your question
i was 5 yrs. old when this album came out. i can remember my mother playing it over and over and over again, and i would sit there, and listen to it,and just dream of different things. even at 5 yrs. old, i knew this was a masterpiece. i will always love this album, it truely takes me back to when i was so young, and makes me dream. MUSIC OF MY MIND !!!!
Very nice. This record means so much to me and to many people. I bought this record one time at a thrift shop for a dollar and left it it on bus knowing someone might find it and play it.
it is impossible to say anything tacky about Stevie Wonder. guy is part of a handful of totally real artists. These type so missed today. No booty just brains, sensitivity, giftedness, music, friendly music.
the eloquent simplicity of this song has always painted a visual colorful masterpiece in my mind. since i was child i LOVED this song. it expresses love so fulfillingly and my heart has always spilled over with happiness whenever ive heard it.
Oh, thank you for putting this on YouTube. I discovered it on the B side of something or other (once I'd heard it I only played that side) but I gave away all my vinyl. I've wanted to hear it again for SO long.
THIS WHOLE FREAKIN ALBUM CHANGE THE STANDARD FOR R&B. IT IS PURE MAGIC!!!!!!!!!!! Evrey song!. As a 15 year old this song simply sent me to places in my heart and soul I'd not known before!!.
