What blind spot are you speaking of in the constitution. Yes we have to understand the slavery was immoral. But many things at one point seemed perfectly normal in a specific point and time and we as a culture realized it was immoral. Obama, has an issue with the negative liberties associated with the US cons. He argues for more positive liberties. He obviously wants to change the document as well. He was a const. Lawyer. Slavery, and treatment of African Americans during those times were technically unconstitutional. There was no flaw, people just sucked balls and didnt pay attention.

yes you are correct. Jefferson struggled with the constitution and slavery. Many of the founding fathers did. Because they knew that the documents they framed contradicted there behaviors. This argument went on for years until the civil war. So the constitution is not flawed it is the people who try to interpret it to meet their political agendas.

Well the first people America enslaved was white people. They were engendered servitude. It was the most barbaric because most of these slaves were treated poorly and often died before their servitude was over. I understand that slavery was wrong, but so too was the eugenics movement and the main leader Sanger who founded planned parenthood who wanted to eradicate black peole and yet he support this organization.
